Ken Bucking the 2012 POTUS Election

This isn’t a game. I know their a lot of dreamers, ideologues and idiots who don’t get that. I know if I write this as a comment, it will just get lost. But someone has to say it.

RICK PERRY IS A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN.

Forget social security for a moment. In Fed Up, Perry argued for the repeal of the 17th amendment. Decent idea in theory, but the public is not ready for it. No way. Talk about keeping your powder dry. The Dems will not bring this up until he is nominated because they know they can destroy him with it.

There will be key senate races all over the country, and out standard bearer is going to be a guy that wants to take away the ability of the people to vote for their senators and leave that decision to state politicians?  Twist, rationalize, spin it anyway you want, this is coming to senate races near you, including VA and WI.

“Rick Perry doesn’t believe people should have the right ot vote. He trusts politicians more than he trusts you”

“We believe in the people. We trust you. Rick Perry is anti-democracy. He wants to take away your right to vote”

“Rick Perry believes in disenfranchising the people and giving the elite and politicians more power”

“Rick Perry wants to take away your right to vote;  long live democracy, top the fascists NOW”

Are all you blinded, stubborn ideologues  too blind to see that you will destroy the GOP and our hopes in 2012 if you elect Perry.

Its coming to you VA, WI, NE, MI, OH… Going to battle in Ohio with a candidate who doesn’t think people should get to elect their senators.

Insanity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Long live the Republic. Romney/Rubio 2012.

Mitt Romney Keeps On Chugging

In certain circles of  the conservative blogosphere, there seems to be a blackout on any positive news involving Mitt Romney.  But ignoring or wishing away the GOP’s strongest candidate isn’t going to make it so.  I marvel at all the good news his campaign gets that is completely ignored by some.

For example,  a new presidential poll shows Romney beating Obama by five  in  Michigan, with only 12% undecided. Those are deadly numbers for Obama.  But that poll is just the tip of the iceberg for Romney;  a new primary poll of South Carolina shows  Romney with a healthy lead over the entire GOP field.  He receives 25% of the vote, while Palin pulls 16% and Bachmann pulls 13%.  South Carolina is supposed to be a soft spot for Romney.  He is expected do well in two of the early  four states, New Hampshire and Nevada, and any traction he gets in South Carolina or Iowa is gravy.  Speaking of Nevada,  The Las Vegas Sun  suggests that  Romney may be the man who can unite a fractured and poorly organized Nevada GOP.  Three positive news stories in one day is an impressive haul, but there is more.  On top of his impressive South Carolina numbers, Romney had another impressive display in the South, raising more money in Georgia  than any other candidate including Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich, who hail from Georgia,  and Pawlenty and Bachmann who are appealing to evangelical voters who hold sway in Georgia.

A very impressive one day news cycle. Yet some seem intent on ignoring the realities surrounding the  Romney campaign, but he is strong and getting stronger, and conservatives prefer work horses over rock stars.  It will be a difficult task to knock him off his perch.

Quick Post for the Historical Illiterates

I could write a whole history, but have neither the time, nor the will to educate morons. Some local news outlets managed to mangle American history in an attempt to beclown Sarah Palin. They only beclowned themselves. But the misinformation is spreading like wildfire. Some quick facts to douse this nonsense.

Paul Revere’s ride occurred before the Declaration of Independence. The United States of America did not exist. Many of the patriots still considered themselves loyal British subjects. Paul Revere did not yell “the British are coming”. He was British. The people he was warning were British. That would have been stupid to yell the British are coming. Historians have concluded that he warned the colonial British that the “regulars” are coming or the “redcoats” were coming.  As the riders snuck out of Boston, it was a stealth mission. But once he was beyond the scope of the redcoat sentries, Paul Revere did use various methods to wake and warn people.  Upon hearing his warnings, his fellow patriots at Lexington and Concord rang town bells to wake and warn the people. The Lexington Green bell is still rung at re-enactments today.
