What did people in Chicago think about Obama running in 2006?


A blast from the past with great comments!

I came across a pretty interesting newspaper article from the Chicago Tribune dated February 15, 2006.

The article is titled “Obama in ’08: O yes? Or o no?” by Eric Zorn.

The author quotes his own column from January 20, 2005 and gives pros and cons of Obama running for President. I found not only the article itself to be interesting but the comments section to be the best of all. The prism of time combined with no spin commentary gives a very accurate picture of the true feelings of the public toward Obama.

The fact that most people felt that Obama did not have experience and was too liberal to be elected came through very clearly.

To give a quick overview of a highly complex system, the credit markets work like this:

The people with money loan it to other people who need money

The people with money make more money by taking the risk of loaning it

The people who borrowed the money make money by USING the money to make more money…**
