Dave Keene-President of American Conservative Union, obviously still supports Romney

On July 9, 2009, Ronald Kessler (Washington Insider) published an artile entitled “CPAC Chairman: Palin Not Ready for Presidential Run.”

http://newsmax.com/kessler/sarah_palin_cpac/2009/07/09/233604.html

When I read the artile, my first thought was, Here is Keene, President of the ACU, which hosts the CPAC convention each year, calling Palin a “whinner”, and then he goes on to whine alot more than Palin when he said:

“She confirmed that she will be speaking to CPAC in person, then her office said she was going to be there, they were just working out the logistics. Thn all of a sudden, she couldn’t be there. At the last minute she was going to do a video tape. We don’t usually do that, but we said OK. Then it turned out they couldn’t get the video tape done, they couldn’t figure how to do it or something. And so she just didn’t come. Now that was our instance, and it also happened to a number of other groups.”

Mr. Keene- Here is a list of the ethics complaints filed against Palin, along with the dates they were filed-

http://www.adn.com/palin/story/838912.html

Complaints 13 and 14 were filed on Jan. 26, 2009, just a month before the2009 CPAC Convention opening day on February 26, 2009. I understand that both complaints aledge that 2 of Palin’s top aides worked on state time to benefit Palin’s interests. Mr. Keene, would they be the same people that “couldn’t get the video tape done, because they didn’t know how to do it or something”?

On 3/18/09, just 18 days after the CPAC Convention ended, complaint number 15 was filed. That complaint contended Palin used staff, property, time and equipment for partisan political gain. Mr. Keene, would the staff, property, time and equipment mentioned in this complaint have had anything to do with the “video tape she and her office just didn’t know how to do, or something”? And to boot, attending the CPAC Convention in Virginia for 3 days would have had Andree McLeod (filed 3 of the complaints against Palin) running whooping in the streets, because she now had found some jello that was ready to stick to the wall. Mr. Keene, have you forgotten, or have you not paid close enough attention to the fact that Palin’s detractors, as well as other fleas, had Palin strapped to the electric chair, and were just waiting for someone like you to hit the “juice on” button? She couldn’t leave Alaska sir, she was already strapped down.

It didn’t take much effort to find that Dave Keene, President of the American Conservative Union, apparently has ulterior motives. He supported Romney in the 2008 primaries. It also didn’t take much effort to find that Ronald Kessler also supported Romney in the 2008 Primaries.

Here is a link to an article in Free Republic writing about Keene’s “endorsement” of Romney, and, his lame reasons for that support-

Here is a link to a Ronald Kessler article, published in Dec. 2007, entitled “Romney is the Real Deal.” I kid you not, take a look at what Romney spin looks like, cause you are gonna see alot more of it in the near future-

http://www.newsmax.com/kessler/romney/2007/12/26/59790.html

I have no idea what will happen with Palin, now that she has resigned from her post as Alaska Governor. I will patiently wait to see where she goes, and what she does from here on out. If I like what she says and does, and who she supports, if anyone, I will judge her on that basis. To think that the Romney campaign machinery is not already in full play for 2012 is foolish. Timing is everything, and, if Palin has her sights on 2012, she is already behind the one Kessler and Keene believe is “The Real Deal.”

These jokers need to get across 495 and into the USA

I have always suspected that the “haircut” and his chevaliers in the political class had more to do with the barrage of phony ethics complaints than either the dems or the kooks. I think Palin knows it and that is one reason she used the Washington Times interview to convey a hearty “up yours” to the Beltway nabobs who have spent the last six months blaming her for everything. These are the same political “leaders” and “experts” that managed to hand the congress to the libtards on a plate.

As an aside, how can anybody endorse Romney and say with a straight face that they are a true blue free market conservative.

RomneyCare anyone?

What says the Boston Globe?

“We’ve said from the beginning that the basic problem with the reform is that if you don’t restructure the system, it becomes rapidly unaffordable and the commitment to cover people begins to fade,” said Dr. David Himmelstein, an associate professor at Harvard Medical School and a founder of Physicians for a National Health Program, which advocates for a government-run health system like Canada’s. “We’re seeing that begin to happen.” …

[Mass. State Budget Official] Kirwan said the state expects to spend substantially more for insurance subsidies than the $869 million Governor Deval Patrick proposed in his 2009 budget just two months ago, because of increasing enrollment and higher payments to insurers. In private briefings, she has told coalition members that the cost could be $100 million more, according to several who were present. The administration declined to confirm that number. …

Meanwhile, healthcare costs statewide are rising by about 10 percent a year. A council established by the health reform law has developed some proposals to reduce cost growth, and several bills are pending in the Legislature. But the task is daunting. ….

“Expanding coverage is easy compared to controlling healthcare costs,” said Nancy Turnbull, a Commonwealth Health Insurance Connector board member and associate dean at the Harvard School of Public Health. “Nobody has to give much up to expand coverage, but in controlling cost there will always be losers.”

“Healthcare cost increases dominate Mass. budget debate,” Boston Globe, March 26, 2008.

Good thing the guy leading this charge was a hard headed articulate republican businessman, well schooled in the issues, and seasoned by insider experience.

Before I get ganged up on by the Alaska king crab industry, I would like to say that I am not so much for Palin as I am against the GOP pork barreling, deal making, back slapping, pay to play political class. If they had the spine to actually implement the budget reforms they promised, Pelosi would not now be speaker. Instead, they put Ted Stevens in charge of appropriations. If they had had the gonads to say no to the bailout back in October, Obama would not now be president. Instead, they folded like a cheap tent. I wish they would all get back in their little clown cars and take a long drive on a short pier. And, I hope they take their pseudo-intellectual think tank rats, babbling heads, spin doctors, poll takers, and focus group swamis with them. Enough already!

Isn't this JUST precious!

I mean really…really… precious.

Don't forget Keene's endorsement past

Its no surprise that he would support Romney over Palin, in 1996 he supported Bob Dole over Pat. This guy is a Beltway ‘conservative’, that is to say he endorses whoever he thinks will win. He thinks Romney will beat Palin, which of course is absurd, but thats obviously what he thinks. I doubt in the end Romney will even run, I mean the guy couldn’t beat a total unknown with no money like Huckabee while spending tens of millions of his own money. No doubt he won’t be willing to spend that kind of money again, and even if he did Sarah will be neither unknown nor unfunded, in fact I would expect her to easily outspend him even if he dips into the family fortune to the tune of 50 million dollars, something again I don’t think he has any intention of doing, so he really has no chance in the world if she runs. Keene’s getting old, he’s so used to supporting the more liberal candidates because Washington keeps telling us they’re ‘more electable’ (even though they arent) that he can’t see he’s picked the wrong candidate for 2012. Its OK, Sarah has the People, she doesn’t need, or want, the Beltway.
