Being stuck at home with a fever does give me alot of free time.

I've looked at SC actually, and unfortunately it's probably going to be 5-2 rather than 6-1, simply because the Black Population is high enough to require another African-American majority district. Spratt's district is, after all, over 33% black.

I'm doing Georgia right now, and it'll be up in a few hours, hopefully. From there I'll probably do South and North Carolina, and then I'll figure it out from there.

I mean WOW!

I admire your zeal. It just seems a bit much to research this that thoroughly.

Really, I think our best energies now are spent to gain majorities in the greatest number of state legislative bodies and win the most governorships in next year's elections. Then, we can begin to focus on how to draw the lines. After all, there isn't really a point in even discussing it until you know your side is going to be the one doing the drawing.

On that point, in my beloved state of SC, if we can manage not to squander the governor's election next year (and we are trying it seems), we will have the GOP in complete control of the re-districting process for the first time since reconstruction. That will probably allow us to draw that blue-dog (lap-dog) John Spratt out of his district, as well as ensure that the new seat we are expecting to gain is a conservative one. This would take us from 4r's & 2d's to 6r's & 1d, a net gain of two seats for the GOP, which is huge for a small state like this.
