This has nothing to do with the Server timeouts…

As to the confusion/issue that lead to my stupidly going off the deep end…

I’ve noticed something that is confusing me. An inconsistency in the way the site operates. It has to do with the “read more” pagination/break feature/function on Preview pages.

It works fine on “Front Page” and “My Diary” (ones own Diary entries) displays, but does not when viewing someone elses “Profile”/”Diary list” as well as when viewing Categories (Sections and/or Tags, not sure what/why there is a difference between those 2).

This poses a problem when viewing others non Front Page work when a Diary is long (especially folks that do a huge recap on a daily basis for a State). Getting (by having to page/scroll) through the section/tag/category/diaries is more difficult because of the varying lengths of them, with some being REALLY long.

I thought it (read more/pagination Diary previews) was functioning at one time on/in all areas of the site, but that recollection may be faulty (not sure). So I just wanted to let you know in the hopes you’d look at it on behalf of all members and visitors alike. And I owe someone on the site (saul) an apology over this as I’d been on him about tying up so much space on the Michigan tag/category/page with long entries that I thought (and he may indeed not be using the feature, I don’t know now as it doesn’t work at all) that he was just dumping his long entries in as one piece tying up screen space.

I may hate to admit when I’m wrong, but I am man enough to do so.

As for the Pagination, have you stopped by the “Michigan” category? Take a scroll on through there and you’ll understand what I’m talking about.

As for Front Page… Some Front Page stuff gets pushed off that we actually Read and Comment on!!! While most of these (I know, I’m up most nights very late into the mornings) go with 0 (zip, zero, nada) Posts (certainly not true of all of them).

I have been told, “he has his fanbase” which I have no doubt, but his fans would know where to find his Profile and see his Member Diaries they don’t all need to be piled up on the Front Page. Everyone else has one or two at a time Front Page.

Again, just saying. Just my opinion, which may or may not be appreciated by some/all. I wouldn’t even comment, if I didn’t CARE!!

I would imagine Trolls/Mobies love to see stuff that isn’t providing any action and want to get stuff off the Lists (glad they haven’t figured out, and I’m not about to discuss here and give them ideas).

Isn’t kind of one of those “Takes one to know one?” type thing!?!? So someone with a long sig like mine has to come across something REALLY ANNOYING to make that comment, ‘ey??? lol

What State you in?? Hope he moves there and ties up your State’s Category.

I’m just one of the few around with the gumption to speak up (know it frustrates a few others) about this kind of thing and those that FLOOD the Front Page on a regular basis with things that are ALREADY ON the Front Page rather than just participate in the active discussions on/of the Topic. (Yes, I realize of whom I speak) Don’t expect it will get through, human nature and all to just reject it out of hand, but I think it will be somewhere in the backs of their minds and may actually finally come to the realization themselves. Or not?!?! Good stuff rolls off the Front Page and/or (more-so) the Members Diary List when it gets Flooded (expect Mobies/Trolls to purposefully try to roll things off the lists).
