Generally round about Labor Day if not before, the NRCC comes knocking on all our doors saying “you haven’t paid your dues.” Our “dues” are funds Members pay into the NRCC’s coffers that they then turn around and use to elect more Republican congressmen.
This is October 25, 2009, more than a year before Election Day. But the NRCC is beating on all our doors already saying we need to cough up cash. More than one Member has been pushed to pay up. Why now? Probably because our leadership has decided to put a millstone around our necks named Dede.
Maybe the NRCC and the Gentleman from Texas 32 will realize a few Members are withholding “dues” until November 3rd so none of our donors’ dollars go to New York 23.

bannor Sunday, October 25th at 10:05PM EST (link)i don’t trust the NRCC at all so i’m donating directly to candidates that i like. It might be a good idea to simply starve these fools of money to try and wake them up.
Which is exactly the message I sent to the Gentleman
janis (Diary) Sunday, October 25th at 10:12PM EST (link)from Texas just this afternoon. What a disappointment he is as leader of the NRCC. I really expected so much more of him than what’s happening now in New York.

fpete13527 (Diary) Sunday, October 25th at 10:17PM EST (link)Got my call today from NRCC. Tried to enlighten and explain to the volunteer what I want to see happen before dollars. I explained that I wanted to see things like No Dede, No Crist, No un-researched involvment from RINO Senators, No “moderacy,” and No ignoring GrassRoots conservatives. I said it loud, soft, strong and mild….he didn’t get it in the least!!!!! He also didnt get any money.
I will not
Gmac Sunday, October 25th at 10:20PM EST (link)risk my account and say what I think of the NRCC’s actions of late.
I was polite enough to the telephone solicitor that called me last time as I heatedly explained to her that until they started supporting conservatives I would donate my time in other ways but decidedly not to them.
Does any one know how to email NRCC ?
lewincolorado Sunday, October 25th at 10:27PM EST (link)I really want to give them a “talking” to !! I have been unable to find a contact-only contribute, etc.
lewincolorado, I faced the same dilemma.
janis (Diary) Sunday, October 25th at 10:37PM EST (link)Looked all over, but wasn’t about to send them a Ben Franklin just so I could send an email. Did the next best thing and sent an email to Pete Sessions, head of the NRCC.
You could have sent them a George Washington
TNJim (Diary) Sunday, October 25th at 10:53PM EST (link)unless there’s a minimum contribution there. Still would have been too much.
Ahhh, found it
TNJim (Diary) Sunday, October 25th at 11:00PM EST (link)But just the way it’s worded makes me wonder if it gets looked at much.

Found it by mousing over “About” under the header, then a dropdown menu came down with “Contact” at the bottom of the list. Took me to this page.

The RNC deserves the same treatment
DerKrieger (Diary) Sunday, October 25th at 10:28PM EST (link)My dad called me and asked if he should donate to the RNC. I said HELL NO! I advised that he pick some conservative candidates and donate directly to them.
The only way the establishment will get it is by drying up their funds.
We need an outright boycott of the RNC and NRCC. Many marginally involved GOPers will continue to give money because they’re less informed than political junkies. We need to raise their awareness.
I’m going to start by sending an e-mail to all my friends advising they not give to either org.

RedInABleuState (Diary) Monday, October 26th at 2:07AM EST (link)this is from RS Insider, who obviously knows how the inner workings of Congress …er, work.
Members of Congress are assessed an amount (“Dues”) that they then owe to the Congressional Campaign Committee – in the GOP’s case, the NRCC.
You may choose to give directly to their campaigns…but at some point, they have to pay their “dues” to Party leadership. That money comes from the individual member’s campaign war chest (i.e., YOUR money that you gave to THEM, instead of the NRCC).
While they are normally hardest pressed during an Election year, around Labor Day, it sounds like in this election cycle they’re being hassled to get their money in almost a full year early!
Looking at the cash on hand balances of the NRCC vs DCCC, it’s easy to see why.
The people never give up their liberties but under some delusion. — Edmund Burke
It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds. — Samuel Adams
A good way to avoid this is to give to candidates who should be on the recieving end of this transfer.
scarlos (Diary) Monday, October 26th at 2:45AM EST (link)For example, giving to Safe, incumbent Republicans usually means the money will find it’s way elsewhere. However, giving to Republican challengers, or in Republican primaries, should generally not make it to the NRCC or NRSC.
