How Low Will The Democrats Go?

The Democrats, know that they cannot win a fair fight this November, so they are trying to rig the system. In my home district, the 7th District of Pennsylvania, one of the most competitive house races of 2010 is going on between Republican Pat Meehan and Democratic State Legislator Brian Lentz.  Meehan is considered a slight favorite due to his extensive ties and work in the district. He was the District Attorney for Delaware County, which comprises most of the District. He also was the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania for the Bush Administration.

This being said the Local and National Democrats have decided to help a third party “tea party” candidate get on the ballot, in hopes of siphoning votes away from the Republican. The tea party candidate is a birther, who would not be able to get the signatures to petition himself on the ballot if it weren’t for the local democrats. His signatures include the Chairwoman of the local county Democratic party as well as a host of prominent democrats in the area.  This is politics at its worst and the Democrat in the race is playing dumb, saying he has no comment on the tea party candidate. This type of shenanigans is exactly what the democrats hope will help them retain Joe Sestak’s old seat.

Ronald Reagan once said

“Democracy is worth dying for, because it’s the most deeply honorable form of government ever devised by man.”

Obviously the Democrats feel differently because they’d rather try and cheat their way to victory then terrible flaws of their candidates and this administration.  I stand with Reagan, Pat Meehan stands with Reagan and we all must stand for freedom as Conservatives. Pat Meehan will beat both of the Democratic Party supported candidates with your help.

Ron Johnson Is Beating Russ Feingold

According to a new Rasmussen Poll Ron Johnson is beating Russ Feingold 48% to 46% in the Wisconsin Senate Race. Dave Westlake is currently trailing Senator Feingold by 10% according to the Rasmussen poll. This race was not on anyones radar 6 months ago, but thanks to Johnson, this race has turned into one of the marquee races in the country this Fall, with perhaps the Senate majority teetering in the balance.  Johnson is a plastics manufacturer who stormed onto the political scene with a surprise win at the State Convention. He has been self-funding his candidacy and is someone who is a pro-liberty, small government conservative. He is being supported by Jim DeMint, Erick Erickson and the NRSC. *Note that is not a typo.

Join the movement and let’s make Senator Feingold unemployed.

Sarah Palin Endorses Kelly Ayotte!!!

Add another fine conservative lady to Sarah Palin’s list of Mama Grizzlies. Sarah Palin has just endorsed Kelly Ayotte for New Hampshire’s Senate Seat. Palin’s endorsement is probably sought after by Conservatives, right with Jim DeMint. Palin’s recognition of Ayotte is the nail in the coffin to Ayotte’s critics, that she is not a conservative.

Let the Governor speak for herself “It’s my honor to endorse a Granite State “mama grizzly” who has broken barriers, fought off and locked up criminals, and battled all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court to protect the rights of New Hampshire parents – and won!”

“Kelly is the strongest commonsense conservative who can win in the fall. I knew I liked her when I met her earlier this year, and I know this Granite Grizzly will represent New Hampshire with distinction in Washington.”

This race has become a keystone in the battle to take back our country and Kelly Ayotte is the conservative to do it in New Hampshire. This is a two horse race between Ayotte and the left winger  RINO Binnie. It’s time for us to rally with Governor Palin and support a true leader in Kelly Ayotte.

Conservative Picks For Republican Senate Leadership after 2010

The possibility of Republicans taking control of the Senate is growing more and more by the day, however, the end result remains to be seen. But just winning a majority of seats is not enough if we want real conservative leadership in the Senate. Therefore, I decided to lay out what I think is the best Leadership for a  new Republican Minority or Majority Senate:

Majority/Minority Leader: John Thune – Absolutely a conservative, but also a shrewed politician who knows how to effectively win a messaging war – see SD Senate Race 2004.

Assistant Minority Leader: John Barrasso – Not as well known as some other options, however, don’t mistake that for being less conservative; as Barrasso one of the most conservative members of the Senate. He is also a doctor and an expert on Healthcare. Repealing Obamacare will be at the top of the agenda and Barrasso could do wonders in helping repeal the bill, and then crafting a Bill that is market based and actually fixes and not exacerbates the problems in our Healthcare system.

Republican Conference Chair: Jim DeMint – Tough as nails, and knows that the best compromise is getting the other side to concede. Could you Imagine Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi trying to negotiate with DeMint? Pure Bliss.

Republican Conference Secretary: Jon Kyl – Although this would be a step down from his current position as Assistant Minority Leader, there is no doubt that Kyl is one of the savviest and most well versed policy men that the GOP has. He also has strong political skills and knows the ins and outs of the Senate.

Policy Committee Chair: Tom Coburn – Coburn is absolutely tireless in his pursuit to stop and cut the growth of Government. He is articulate, quick, and fearless in his pursuit to balance the budget. Seeing as economic issues will drive the next Congress, having a stalwart like Coburn driving policy for the GOP will go along way in curbing the progressive tide of years past.

Honorable Mentions: Isakson, Johanns, Rubio, Toomey.

This team of Leadership would help bring America back to the glory days of Washington and Reagan. Before we can take the country back, we have to take the GOP Leadership back.

KELLY AYOTTE IS THE CONSERVATIVE TO SUPPORT IN NH SENATE RACE

In response to some a recent post by a fellow RedStater, I felt it necessary to make clear what the situation is in New Hampshire. The republican primary for Senate is two months away and it has become a horse race between Bill Binnie and Attorney General Kelly Ayotte. Two other candidates, Ovide Lamontagne and Jim Bender are also in the race but they each have been stuck in the low single digits for months now, with Ovide’s support depleting since his entrance into the race. Bender is pro-choice and pro-gay marriage and Ovide is a two time statewide loser from the 90′s who lost by more than 15 points in both races in good republican years.  Ayotte still maintains a small lead over Bender, but the time has come for Conservatives to put their money with their mouth is and support Ayotte.

Bill Binnie is no moderate. Period. He is a liberal. He is for amnesty and has come out against Arizona’s law. He is a social liberal like Bender and supports abortion and gay marriage. He has given money to democrats in the past and has gone as far to say that he doesn’t like the GOP because they are pro-life. He has been open to tax increases as a means to lower the deficit. And this is only a brief summary of his liberalism. However, in an open primary and because he is self-funding his race with his millions, Binnie is nipping at Ayotte’s heals and conservatives cannot stand flatfooted any longer.

Ayotte is a conservative, no doubt. She is a staunch social conservative and is a tough on crime no nonsense prosecutor. She supports Arizona’s law and condemns Amnesty. She is strong on national security and believes in enhanced interrogation and military tribunals. She is a fiscal conservative and has signed several pledges affirming so.

Ayotte must be our Rubio in New Hampshire, otherwise we will be stuck with Binnie who is even worse than Charlie “For the People” Crist. It’s time to fight for freedom and get behind the conservative Ayotte. Do we really need another Jim Jeffords or Crist? Or do we want someone who is a commonsense conservative, who will fight against Obama’s overreaching government.

The answer is Clear.

Conservatives Need to Wake Up When it Comes to NH

Conservatives and Republicans are in danger of allowing a progressive win the Senate primary in NH for Judd Gregg’s seat.  Bill Binnie is not a conservative, and really isn’t even a republican. He is pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, pro-taxes, pro-AMNESTY and has said as early as a few years ago that he didn’t even like the GOP because it is “pro-life”. In saying all this, he is very much in position to win the New Hampshire Senate primary on September 14th.  Binnie is a self funder and is pouring millions into deceitful ads in which he is claiming to be a conservative. He has come from nowhere to now be within single digits of Attorney General Kelly Ayotte in the primary. Ayotte, is a conservative. She has a great record of fighting corruption and crime as Attorney General.

Everything that makes Binnie a liberal, proves that Ayotte is a conservative. She is staunchly pro-life, against gay marriage, approves of Arizona’s law and is against amnesty. She also is a fiscal conservative and strong national security conservative. This race is a two hors race between Ayotte (The Conservative) and Binnie (The Progressive). There are two other candidates in the race but both are mired in the low single digits.  Jim Bender, a Businessman, who is also pro-gay marriage, and pro-abortion does not stand a chance. And Ovide Lamontagne, is a conservative like Ayotte; but he has not been able to gain any ground and has been losing support from when he first entered the race. He also has run statewide twice and been blown out by 15 points each time, which makes him a bit of an also-ran.

The point is, is that Conservatives are running out of time to stop Bill Binnie from being the next Jim Jeffords. We must throw our support behind a true and fresh conservative leader in Kelly Ayotte.

The War in Afghanistan is Not a War True Conservatives Should Be For

Recently, there has been a lot of calls for Michael Steele’s resignation as RNC Chair; an idea I support, but for several other reasons besides his recent comments on Afghanistan. However, what I did find troubling was the immediate reaction by neo-conservatives, damning any debate about Afghanistan as anti-American. The fact is, is that we are nation building in Afghanistan, and that is our primary focus. We have the greatest troops in the world, but there is no point in putting our troops in harms way for this mission.

We are at war. Period. There is a war on terror that I completely support, but that war is not fought and won by nation building in a Country that has been the graveyard of several empires. Endless war is not conservative, it is stupid. Small Governance is not compatible with nation building. We have trillions of dollars of debt on our hands. We must cut domestically and overseas. The United States does not need to police the world, as Europe stands idle.  Afghanistan is a completely different task than Iraq, as Ann Coulter noted, Iraq was a country with a far greater social and physical infrastructure than Afghanistan.

I join George Will, Ann Coulter, and several others in calling for an end to the endless money pit that is the war in  Afghanistan.  Our troops don’t need to be put in harms way as we prop up a corrupt leader (Karzei) in a failed state.  In summation I would argue that being a fiscal conservative dictates that the United States government must use restraint in all its functions and that includes going to war.

*For the record, I am not a Libertarian and did support the War in Iraq and have no problem seeing terrorists water boarded.

Paul Hodes Must Be Defeated: A task only a Conservative can complete

One of the Senate races that I have been focused on in my writing is the New Hampshire Senate Race. The race has flown under the radar for the most part, but that must change. Paul Hodes is not just misleading, but he is flat out lying now. He is out with a new 30 second spot wrongly attacking the only viable conservative left in the race, Kelly Ayotte. The ad which is below, happens to be littered with typical left-wing smears and lies. He falsely claims that Ayotte was complicit in the biggest ponzi scheme in the history of New Hampshire. But facts are stubborn things and Hodes is a typical Washington politician.  While Hodes is running uncontested raising money with the likes of Joe “Amtrak” Biden and Harry “The War is Lost” Reid, Ayotte still has a real primary fight on her hands in the form of Bill Binnie. I have warned conservatives previously about Binnie, who is a pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, pro-amnesty, pro-taxes RINO. He once said that he does not like the GOP because they are the pro-life party. Ayotte is a down the line conservative who is strong on National Defense, Fiscal Policy, and social issues.  She is a pro-life hero who fought for a parental notification law against the will of her Democratic Governor. Under normal circumstances the Conservative like Ayotte should have an easy path to a Senate Seat against someone like Hodes. However, she has to deal with the self-funding Binnie who has closed the primary gap between him and her to within 10 points. Two other candidates are in this race, Jim Bender who like Binnie is pro-choice, and Ovide Lamontagne who is a conservative like Ayotte, but also two time statewide loser from the 90′s (by more than 15 points each time). New Hampshire deserves a new fresh conservative face and that is Ayotte.

A few notes about Kelly Ayotte:

1. She is crushing Hodes in all polling by up to as much as 15 points.

2. She is the most conservative candidate in the race who can win.

3. She was a very successful Attorney General and prosecutor and is not a politician. She was named Citizen of the Year by the conservative New Hampshire Union Leader.

4. As the new Hodes ad shows, the Democrats fear her.

5. Let’s fight for a conservative alternative to Paul Hodes and Paul Hodes light – Bill Binnie.                www.ayotteforsenate.com

Bill Binnie Must Be Defeated

I normally don’t make outright acclimations about who conservatives must defeat, but I feel compelled to do so this time in regard to the New Hampshire Senate race. There are four candidates in the race, Former Attorney General Kelly Ayotte, Ovide Lamontagne, Bill Binnie and Jim Bender. Recent polling suggests that this race is a two horse race between Ayotte and Binnie, as Ovide and Bender are mired in the single digits.  Ayotte is planting her flag as a conservative and adheres to conservative principles very consistently. Binnie on the other hand is campaigning as a fiscal conservative but more socially moderate.

It is important to note that this is New Hampshire we are talking about, not Maine or Vermont. A mainstream conservative can win in New Hampshire, therefore, we don’t need to nominate candidates like Binnie. A few facts about Mr. Binnie:

1. He has donated thousands of dollars to Democratic Candidates and supported Bill Bradley in 2000 - http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2003-11-07/news/0311070203_1_undeclared-voters-valuable-early-momentum-independents

2. He is Pro Choice and Pro Gay Marriage - http://www.binnie2010.com/index.php/news_detail/gop_senate_hopefuls_look_to_cut_through_the_noise/

3. He is for Amnesty for Illegal Aliens - http://www.concordmonitor.com/article/centrist-view-obscured-in-nh?page=0,0

4. He has said that he “doesen’t like the GOP” - http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2003-11-07/news/0311070203_1_undeclared-voters-valuable-early-momentum-independents

5. He is self-funding his campaign to create an image that is counter to his record.

6. He has not ruled out tax increases as a means to reduce the deficit - http://www.nowhampshire.com/2010/02/03/binnie-leaves-door-open-for-tax-increases/

These stances are a lot closer to Bernie Sanders than they are to Jim DeMint. What’s really clear, is that we have a race between a Conservative and a Moderate/Liberal republican in a state where the GOP does not need a moderate to win. If this was Delaware (Mike Castle) or Illinois (Kirk) I would not be as vocal as I am because we do need those seats to obtain a majority. But this is NEW HAMPSHIRE. The thing that makes this race so interesting is that people perceive as the establishment candidate, Ayotte,  is actually the Conservative candidate. She was a great Attorney General and is a pro life, pro gun, fiscal conservative who was named Citizen of The Year by the conservative New Hampshire Union Leader.  The other conservative in the race, Ovide, is a good man but has not proven to be a good candidate. He ran twice in the 90′s statewide and lost by 15 or more points each time, in mind you, what were good republican years.  The choice in New Hampshire is clear. We can elect a man who has donated to democrats, is a social liberal, said that he does not like the GOP as late as 2003 and supports Amnesty; or we can support a young conservative woman who has a record as a law and order, no nonsense prosecutor who has fought and will fight for conservative values.

Bobby Jindal – A Competant Conservative Hero

Governor Bobby Jindal has been hailed by many as the “next Reagan”, but I don’t believe that is correct. He is not the next Reagan, but he is the first Governor Bobby Jindal and that deserves much reverence. Governor Jindal took over Louisiana at a time of great crisis. The people of the state had lost all faith in their local, state and federal governments. However, Mr. Jindal sought to change that with his election in 2007. He came in and instilled the toughest ethics laws in the nation, taking the state from worst to first in that category. He has cut taxes, balanced the budget and fought a consistent and strident battle for social conservatism. All the boxes that Conservatives want to have checked by their leaders have been checked by Governor Jindal.  The Governor has brought competence back to a state that was thirsting for it.

The measure of a great leader is how they react to the crises that will confront them. Governor Jindal has acted swiftly in his response to multiple hurricanes and has restored the faith of his constituents after the disaster that was Hurricane Katrina, that a limited but strong government can do the job right.  During his latest test  with the BP oil Spill Governor Jindal has stood steadfast as a leader devoted to his people and his state. He has been courageous and swift in his judgments and has challenged the Federal Government to follow suit.  He has been on the ground everyday, amongst the workers demanding a stronger response. He has held a measured but stern tone that has presented him well in the eyes of the American people.

Bobby Jindal also happens to have a giant mind as he was accepted into Harvard Medical School and Yale Law School, however, he chose to be accept his Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford instead. He has risen from a assistant in the HHS to a Congressman to one of America’s most Popular, successful and Conservative Governors. It is only a matter of when not if, Bobby Jindal continues his rise all the way to the White House to restore limited, competent and conservative governance.
