1st Amendment Rights In Danger For Starters

Finally!

We have a journalist in America that doesn’t believe that you throw softballs to Democrats and then use the baseball bat to pound the crap out of Republicans!

Finally!

We have a journalist in America that believes in holding ALL politicians responsible for the statements they make and isn’t afraid to ask the tough questions no matter WHO it is.

Finally!

Barack Obama’s campaign has given us a taste of what is to come for anyone that dares to stand up to them with anything short of red carpet treatment.

The Socializing Of America – By Jim Mattison

Jim Mattison is a fellow blogger on another blog I contribute to called “Writers On The Loose”. Jim is a devout Libertarian but on this issue I think he has hit the nail on the head. With his permission, I am reposting his column here on Red State. Copy it and pass it on if you wish.

“It used to be that in America, adamant socialists were considered goofballs…and with good reason. That reason being, socialism, as a governing philosophy is without reason. It is a philosophy founded on the bedrock of good intentions…and what was it Samuel Johnson said about good intentions? The road to hell is paved with them? But these days socialism is all the rage. There are now an approaching majority of Americans who whole heartedly believe that socialism is the only rational direction for America to take. Certainly an overwhelming majority of politicians believe so, which isn’t surprising since politicians crave power and socialism plants power firmly in the laps of politicians, but why would the population be so desirous of a socialist state? The answer is simple…they have been groomed for it.

It may surprise a lot of people out there, but we do not have a free market capitalist state in the United States of America. What we have is a bastardized socialist state. And while the socialist standard bearers love to claim credit for positive outcomes as a result of socialist policy initiatives, the other side of the socialist coin that is either denied or ignored is that socialist policy initiatives are directly responsible for most of the social and economic woes that currently exist in this country. Every social or economic issue, almost without exception, that has been addressed with a socialist policy initiative has either expanded in scope or morphed into a different problem with worse consequences than the problem it was designed to address.

There are three types of adamant socialists.

  1. The Well Intentioned Humanist. This type of socialist is the most common. They just want people to have a good life and believe that if the hardships and burdens that arise over the course of living can be eliminated or eased, then people will have a good life. And the most effective means of accomplishing this task is to assign responsibility for sharing these hardships and burdens to government agencies. Now some of these people are highly intelligent, however, they defend and believe the tenets of socialism with religious-like fervor. The fact that socialist philosophy flies in the face of human psychology, economic principle, historical premise, and in large part just plain old common sense, these facts are ignored or disputed as an act of faith and no amount of reasoned debate is going to alter their belief system. Despite the fact that if you apply the principles of socialism to parenting (the philosophical equivalent of governing) which has been tried with documented disastrous results, these people doggedly hold to belief that socialism will work if properly administrated. Rational? No. But that’s why I equate it to a religion. It’s an act of faith not reason. The well intentioned humanist is primarily a Utopianist. Utopianists are not in tune with the balance of life. Whether you are talking about people’s lives, business, or just life in general, positive and negative must and do exist. Negative experience has just as many positive outcomes and positive experience does, and vice versa, positive experience has just as many negative outcomes as does negative experience. The well intentioned humanist seeks to eliminate as much negative experience from life as they can and in the process…everything gets out of balance.

  2. The Assistance Junkie. We all know and loath this type of socialist, the second most common variety. Even most well intentioned humanists struggle to extend their sometimes seemingly limitless compassion and understanding to. The assistance junkie is usually devoid of philosophical principle, but if a handout is offered they are invariably competing to be first in line to receive it. It may not be fair to even call these people socialists as they do exist within any governing structure. However, the application of socialist policy tends to propagate these types of people at an accelerated rate, so as a byproduct of socialist policy, the assistance junkie, who will always support the policy that supports their predilection for dependency, becomes a socialist by proxy.

  3. The Power Grabber. Although the least prevalent, this type of socialist is inarguably the most dangerous. Dictatorship aside, there is no surer form of government within which to solidify a power base than a socialist one. Why? Because as the old saying goes, “he who has the gold makes the rules”, it follows that he who controls the government controls the power. And who controls government? “He who has the gold”. Power grabbers prefer a socialist state and as little restriction on state control as possible because it is far easier to control the state than the population at large. In order to control the population you must have authority over them and the state is the supreme authority. Power grabbers can come in several forms ranging from individuals like George Soros and Warren Buffet, to large companies like Exxon Mobil and Monsanto, to enormous industrial sectors like the Oil or Insurance industries. Regardless of which form the power grabber comes in, socialism, as a philosophy, allows them to purchase huge tracts of authority over the general population that simple economic superiority never could. Like the assistance junkie, they are most likely less committed to the philosophical principles of socialism than they are attracted to personal benefits.

There is a lot of concern out there from the still lingering bastions of Americans who realize socialism is a fool’s errand, even if they don’t really understand why it’s a fool’s errand, and these people are quite certain that Barrack Obama is going to hasten our country down the road to socialism, or Hell, as the two are pretty much one and the same…and those people would be correct. However, I don’t think they realize that John McCain is going to the exact same place. The only choice you are being offered is whether you want to be on the West side or the East side.

The current financial crisis that we are facing came as a direct result of socialist initiatives within the financial sector of our economy. In order to explain this, I will have to write a long and probably overwhelmingly boring article. But the choice between Obama and McCain is not a choice between solutions, it is a choice between styles and beneficiaries…and don’t kid yourself into believing you or anyone you know are on the prospective beneficiaries’ list.

One thing you can be sure of regardless of which candidate wins, Change ain’t comin’… it got here years ago. I know I’ve said this before, but it’s true. If you really want change there needs to be a mass defection from the major parties and it has to start with you. Otherwise, get ready for a European style socialist government and a complete end to the idea that America began as.”

MSM Mission: Marginalize Palin At Any Cost!

Sarah Palin did much better than anyone thought that she would Thursday night. At least if you are honest, she did. If you are the Huffington Post, she completely tanked.

Gov. Palin took everything that Sen. Biden could dish out and gave it right back to him. Did she dominate? No. But neither did Biden and that made what looked like a draw, a victory for Palin. Thursday night was supposed to be the death of the McCain campaign. It was far from it. Once again, Palin energized the base.

So now the MSM continues Mission: Marginalize. Yes, most of them are admitting that Palin did better than they expected. So how do they marginalize her performance? They do it by “reporting” that the debate is not likely to sway Independent voters one way or the other.

Really?

Now that’s interesting.

Had Palin tanked the way they thought she would, they would have declared the election over and Nov. 4th was merely a formality. For that to happen, the Independent voters would have had been so disgusted with Palin’s performance that they would have gone to Obama.

So here is the logic.

Palin loses, Indy’s go to Obama.

Palin does well. Indy’s don’t budge.

Am I the only one confused by that logic?

These Economic Problems COULD Actually Be An Opportunity For America

We are simply addicted to credit and government

Ok, time for Roger to let a skeleton out of his closet for the sake of making some very important points in this column.

I have an addiction that I am “recovering” from but that I have been fighting for 25 years. It’s not important what the addiction is to, just that I know what it means to be addicted to something.

The first step to recovery is to realize you have a problem. Once you have done that, you must realize that your addiction is not a good thing, it is a bad thing and it is time to end the dependency. You must also realize that you can’t do it alone and you have to start looking for the help.

The beginning of the recovery process, often called “withdrawal” is a living hell. It is the worst experience you can EVER imagine. Every bone in your body, every single cell demands that you give it some of what you are addicted to. You feel physical and emotional pain. You feel despair. You feel empty. You feel anger. You feel anxious. It is an emotional cocktail that simply cannot be described.

America has an addiction to two things, and it is time to start the recovery process.

America is addicted to credit and government.

Our addiction to credit is obvious. You don’t have to be a genius to see it. The amount of credit card debt the average American has is staggering. We simply do not live within our means. We spend more money than we earn in the name of spreading out the payments to get that bigger TV or that leather couch. When we start to fall behind on our ability to make those payments, we “consolidate” the debt and then run it up again.

Our addiction to government isn’t as obvious. We complain about the government. Most of us want them out of our lives. Yet when we see something like the Katrina response, we curse them for not being involved enough.

Our Founding Fathers created a country where our opportunity would come from within ourselves, not from our government. They created a country where the government was only supposed to defend us, equip us with roads and other infrastructure and keep an eye on commerce happening over state lines. They had a vision of a limited government because they knew that is how opportunity can truly be created.

If we are to break these addictions, the bailout simply cannot happen. If the crash is what it takes, let it crash. The credit markets will tighten up to the point where getting credit will be as difficult as it is supposed to be. If the bailout goes through, the government will have far too much influence on our financial markets and we will be on the fast track to socialism, which is a COMPLETE dependence on government.

The withdrawal period from our credit and government addiction will be painful. It is not something we can do alone but we won’t have to. We will have each other and we are Americans! We face the challenges, we conquer, we overcome.

We can do without that 60″ LCD TV, unless you can afford to buy it for cash. We can afford to stick with the fabric couch. We can afford to stay in the house we are in. We want more. We want bigger. We want better. It is human nature. We just have to have a better sense of reality. Breaking our addiction to credit will help us do that.

We can also do without more government intervention in our lives. We in fact, could do with less. We need to stop looking to the government to meet our needs. We need to stop looking for the “grants” and the “programs” and the “entitlements” and everything else that is a feel good program, but gives the government more control over our lives.

We can break these addictions, but we have to realize we have a problem first.

Do you have a problem with either of these addictions?

I’m willing to bet that you do!

Hey John! Send Sarah!

The debate appears to be a “go” tonight and the question in everyone’s mind is “will John McCain show up”?

I have a great idea!

Send Sarah!

Think about it! John McCain sends word that due to negotiations on the rescue plan, he will be unable to attend the debate. To debate Barack Obama in his absence will be his running mate Sarah Palin.

Would Sarah Palin clean Obama’s clock? I think she would and I think the campaign buzz generated by such a move would be unprecedented.

Send Sarah John! Send Sarah!

By the way. Keep this in mind if McCain DOES manage to make it tonight. He will be there with very limited “debate prep”. Just about all of his answers will be on his knowledge of foreign affairs, not coaching by advisers. I hope America realizes that as he will do well and he will probably win.

NEW YORK IS OFFICIALLY IN PLAY!

The Messiah's Lead Had Shrunk to 5%!

Uh oh…

Trouble in River City ladies and gentlemen!

The latest Siena Institute Research Poll shows Obama with just a 5 point lead over John McCain in the Democratic haven of New York State!

Someone please get a message to John McCain…

Get to New York and get campaigning now!

Come To Think Of It…

I am trying my best to find when, in recent history these three events have taken place in an election campaign:

1) The credentials of the Vice Presidential candidate have been expected to stand up to the credentials of the Presidential candidate on the opposing ticket.

2) The Vice Presidential candidate is expected to have any Foreign Policy experience whatsoever.

3) The Vice Presidential candidate has had his/her family attacked in order to make them a campaign issue.

I can only come up with one example. The Election of 2008.

It Takes A Lot To Get Me Mad…

Anyone who knows me on a personal level knows that it takes a lot to get me mad. A whole lot. I just don’t enjoy the emotion of anger and I stay away from it as much as I can. With politics I get passionate and maybe, on occasion, irritated but I don’t get mad.

Until now.

The MSM and liberal blogosphere has managed to get me mad.

I have a message for them.

LEAVE BRISTOL PALIN ALONE!

She is not running for Vice President of the United States. She has NOTHING to do with the campaign or Sarah Palin’s ability to do the job she was selected to do. She is not campaigning for her mother, she is not on the stump for her mother. We have not heard a single solitary word out of her. We don’t even know what her voice sounds like.

So now, since you can’t seem to dig up dirt on Sarah beyond fishing without a license, you go after a defenseless 17 year old girl who already has to deal with the stress of a surprise pregnancy. Please notice I said “surprise” pregnancy, not “unwanted” pregnancy. To those of us with a conscience, a baby is never “unwanted” or a “punishment”. It is an incredible gift from God, He would not give it to us if he thought we couldn’t handle it.

Do you have any idea the trauma you are putting this girl through? For that matter, do you care?

Think about it. Walk a mile in her snow boots.

You are a teenager and everywhere you look the media is smearing you. You are being called a whore. You’re boyfriend is being called a rapist. The confusion she must be feeling must be unimaginable.

“Why are they doing this to me?”

“Why do they care?”

“Why can’t they just leave me alone?”

This is a dark time in the history of journalism. The New York Times and others have reached a new low and what little respect they still had they lost.

LEAVE BRISTOL PALIN ALONE!

You are doing more to help McCain than you are to hurt him but it is at a scared young teenager’s expense.

Here We Go Again…When Will We Ever Learn?

It’s looking like Gustav is going to give New Orleans a direct hit. Twelve of fourteen models have the hurricane running right over the sub sea level city.

For the last three years we have been spending BILLIONS of dollars of tax payer money to fix the damage of Katrina. Now, we are going to have to do the same for Gustav and it is very likely that much of that will be to rebuild what we just got done rebuilding.

My question is this…

When will we learn? When will we say that enough is enough?

How much longer are we going to keep repairing a city that never should have been built in the first place? When you have to build artificial barriers to keep the water out, would that not indicate that we shouldn’t be there? Does it make sense to build in an area that should be a lake and nature seems to want to make it that?

Don’t evacuate, abandon. At the very least, stop sucking money out of the National Treasury to bail out people that will just need it again later for the same problem.

This time around we need to do one of two things for the victims…

1) Have them sign an agreement stating that if they stay and get wiped out again, Federal funds will not be available. The risk they take is their’s and their’s alone.

2) Allow them, to use the funds to relocate to a safer location.

In either case the taxpayers are protected against irresponsible behavior. I understand how hard it would be to leave a home. I get that. But wouldn’t it be better to build a home where you don’t have to worry about losing it to the waters flowing to where they are supposed to be in the first place?

Many of Katrina’s victims have stayed away. Let’s see how many of Gustav’s victims have the sense to do the same. We have three families here in my neighborhood that fled Katrina and they are watching Gustav and quite happy they have made a home here in the Adirondacks where all we have to worry about is snow removal.

Points To Consider Regarding The Recent VP Pick…

Was it a good idea after all?

I can’t take credit for this. It was sent to me by a friend but I think it says it all. The recent VP pick has changed the game in this election and my friend makes some very good points here. He posted them as a comment to a column I wrote on another blog expressing my unconditional approval of Palin as the VP pick.

Keep an open mind and read with discernment.

“Roger, I have nearly begged you not to set things up for me like this. I don’t understand how this pick could have been seriously made.

Consider the facts

  1. Nearly zero quality management experience.

  2. No foreign policy knowledge or experience. NONE.

  3. From a state known for corruption within the party.

  4. Elected to current position ONLY because of significant embarrassing factors about opponent.

  5. Support is segregated to only a couple of isolated interest groups.

  6. Purported to be an excellent speaker, but displayed serious lack of skill in the Essential National speech.

  7. Grand objectives for economic vitality but no substance to back it.

The list of deficiencies goes on and on. Try as I will I simply can’t understand this selection. Huckabee, Romney, Thompson, even Paul are superior in every category.

I know he is stubborn and known for his own gaffs. But this is even below him. I just can’t figure out why Joe Biden would choose this man for a running mate. :)

Why Sarah Is The Perfect Pick

The surprise pick of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin could not have possibly been a better choice for John McCain.

The reason is simple.

Palin won’t hurt McCain. She won’t cost him even one single vote. She WILL gain him some votes that disgruntled Conservatives might not have cast. The other choices on the “short list” would have likely further angered the base and kept more people home on Nov. 4th.

Genius. Simply brilliant.

Hear that noise? It’s the sound of Obama’s knees knocking together. He just got taken to school on how to choose a running mate.

Hats Off To Hillary Clinton

I watched “The Speech” last night and I need to tell you that Hillary Clinton impressed me, and in a BIG way. That speech had to have been one of the hardest things she has ever had to do in her entire life. She did it with grace and complete class. It was well delivered.

Unfortunately, she wasn’t believable and I don’t think her supporters bought it. I think that they realize she was merely trying to keep her position in the political party and save her political arse.

And you can’t blame her. When you think about it, she is doing the a great job at setting herself up for a run in 2012.

I think Hillary was sincere when she said that Barack can’t win. I think she was right. I was one of the suckers that bought into his hype and thought he was going to take the whole shooting match. I was wrong. I was REALLY wrong. Barak should be in double digit lead territory and he has yet to get there. I don’t think he WILL ever get there.

So Hillary knows that she has to be COMPLETELY sure that she isn’t perceived as being part of the reason he goes down. She knows that she HAS to town the party line and make it look like she is one of the Captain’s that went down with the ship.

Here’s why…

John McCain is probably not going to run for a second term. He will do his four and retire at 76. His VP, whoever that will be, will take the reins for a 2012 run. As long as Hillary is in the DNC good graces, she has a shot at 2012.

HOWEVER…

In the unlikely event that Barack Obama wins this thing, she is done.

If Barack Obama wins, America will see the worst President in recent memory. We will be scratching our heads asking ourselves, “What the hell have we done?”

The last thing that America will want to do in 2012 is vote for a Democrat after 4 years of Jimmy…uh…I mean Barack Obama. That will blow her chances and she will have to wait until 2016 at the earliest. No woman that ambitious is willing to wait that long. Not to mention the age factor will be creeping up on her as well in 8 or 12 years.

If John McCain wins, America will see the worst President in recent memory as well. He is not a whole lot better. We will be scratching our heads asking ourselves, “What the hell have we done?”

The last thing America will want to do in 2012 is vote for another Republican and that is where Hillary will be the White Horse. We can only hope we have our own White Horse in the form of a true Conservative.

Hillary’s political future depends on a John McCain win and she knows it. She gave a fantastic dog and pony show last night and she did it with class, but it wasn’t enough. It was empty rhetoric and her supporters know it. The shotgun was under the podium cocked and ready to fire.

She played the role, but America knew it was an act.

He Won The Battle, But It Will Cost Him The War

On Thursday Barack Obama will accept the nomination of the Democrat Party to be President of the United States. His speech is expected to rival his now infamous speech at the same Convention in 2004. It better. I hope he realizes how high the bar is set. Thursday will officially mark his victory in winning the first battle necessary to be elected President, the Battle of the Primaries.

Unfortunately for Obama, in winning the battle, he stands to lose the war.

Who is going to take him down? The soldiers of the army he just defeated will do him in.

Various polls are showing that anywhere from 20-28% of Hillary supporters will NOT vote for Barack Obama and instead will cast their vote for John McCain. Even if those numbers are half right, it is game over for Obama. In an election as close as this one will probably be, even a 5% defection will spell certain defeat.

The GOP actually sponsored a “happy hour” for Clinton supporters who are disillusioned by Obama. Over 100 attended and each of them pledged their support for McCain. That may be a ridiculously small sampling in the grand scheme of things, but I think it is very telling.

The biggest lead Obama has had in Gallup polls since he and McCain secured their nominations in June is 9%. To win this thing, Obama will need each and every one of Clinton’s supporters. He only has 2 months to win them over. It’s not enough time.

Winning over Conservatives may be a challenge for McCain, but it pales in comparison to the challenges that lie ahead for Obama.

My analysis? Game over. It will be interesting to see what Obama’s “Convention Bump” will be.

Someone Explain This To Me? Please?

I have been racking my brain trying to figure why in the World Barack Obama would pick Joe Biden?

I know a lot of people are asking the same question and the criticism of it is running rampant but really, why would he make such a critical election costing mistake? I mean this is game over for him and you have to wonder how he could not possibly know that.

I don’t agree with him on 99% of the issues. I don’t think he is qualified to be President but I didn’t expect him to commit political suicide. You can even see it in the faces of the liberal pundits. They are towing the line, but they don’t believe what they are saying. Not one bit.

Let’s take a look at what most of us already know…

Biden was extremely critical of Obama when he was vying for the nomination. The sound bite in which he warns America that the White House is not the place for on the job training is going to be a thorn in Obama’s side.

Biden is the ultimate political Washington insider. Obama’s desire to present himself as an outsider that will change the status quo just went out the window.

Biden has a 35 year voting record that can and will be used against both him and Obama over and over and over again. At the very least, if he felt he needed to choose a fellow Senator, it should have been one with a smaller paper trail.

Biden is almost as far to the left as Obama himself. It will be more difficult than ever to present himself as a centrist.

Biden is the Dems “go to guy” for National Security. The only problem with that is Biden advocates the National Security policies of the Clinton Administration that saw terrorist attacks as an almost annual event and the majority of the planning for 9/11. He will challenge Bush’s policies which have seen us attack free for 7 solid years.

Biden has a tendency to run mouth before engaging brain. That could be a problem on the trail.

AND FINALLY!

Biden’s own results on the Presidential campaign trail were dismal at best. Obama could have at least chosen a contender rather than an “also ran”.

Someone tell me please…

WHAT WAS HE THINKING?

The More They Know About Him, The Less They Like Him

Barack Obama is in trouble. I knew this would happen, but I didn’t expect it to happen until after he took office as President.

You see I have said from the beginning that America would not like Barack Obama. I said they wouldn’t like his policies, they wouldn’t like his leadership. I just didn’t think they would like him at all.

I was right.

I just didn’t think I would see it happen this soon.

The Media Research Center is reporting that Barack Obama is getting 7 positive news stories for every 1 negative one. He is also outspending John McCain by a 2:1 ratio or better and he is out fundraising him by more than that! His decision to decline the public funding gives him unlimited possibilities for raising funds.

With those kinds of numbers, he should be ahead in the polls by at least double digits. He’s not. At best he is tied and in some cases he is down 5 or more.

Why?

It’s because the hype and inspiring speeches aren’t cutting it anymore. It’s because America is finding out what Barack Obama is really all about.

He is about denying a suffering baby that just survived an abortion attempt emergency medical care to at least keep it comfortable while it finishes dying or MAYBE has it’s life saved since it is now out of the womb. That isn’t a stance for abortion, that is a stance for infanticide and America knows it.

He is about weakening our military and prematurely ending key defense projects that keep America safer.

He is about negotiating on a weak platform instead of a position of strength with ruthless dictators that want to see harm brought to America.

He is about keeping us dependent of foreign oil for the next 20 years until the alternative energy solutions are in place and viable.

He is about taxing, taxing and then taxing some more. He is about increasing the number of Americans that pay no tax from 30% to 40% or more and that means more taxes for those that do pay. That’s not just the rich folks, that is also the middle class.

He is about taking health care decisions away from the doctors and making them bureaucratic. He is about lessening the quality of our health care in the name of improving the quantity of it.

He is about placing parents under government oversight from the time their children are born until they reach the age of 5 when the schools take over the task. I wouldn’t be surprised if ending Charter Schools and homeschooling is also in his agenda.

He is about stripping all symbols of patriotism from his clothing, podium and plane and replacing them with his logo or a bastardized version of the Presidential seal. His logo, by the way, uses the blue of the United Nations, not the United States.

He is about having “President Barack Obama” embroidered on his plane seat before he even wins the election.

In other words he is a narcissist and as far to the left as a person can possibly get. He is a communist in every sense of the word.

America is learning more and more about the path he is leading us down and we simply do not like it. His spiral in the polls is going to continue until the bitter end and come November 4th I don’t think it’s even going to be close.

Good luck in your future endeavors Mr. Senator. Those endeavors won’t, however, include the White House.

California Decides To Investigate Schumer – FINALLY!

Reuters is reporting that California Attorney General Jerry Brown has received a letter from former employees of IndyMac requesting a investigation into the letter Charles Schumer released to the press expressing concern over the liquidity of IndyMac. That letter began an 11 day run on withdrawals from panicked IndyMac depositors that sent the bank into a tailspin and eventual failure. The employees are claiming that Schumer released confidential information and directly contributed to the failure of their former employer.

They are right of course.

Will Jerry Brown, a Democrat do the right thing? I don’t have a lot of confidence in that. Even if he does and even if it goes all the way to a conviction, Chuckie will be just fine.

If Schumer were a Republican, and an indictment were to be handed down, he would have to immediately resign his leadership position under GOP rules. If he were to be convicted, he would be forced to resign from the Senate completely. Again, under rules the GOP has but the Dems don’t. The only way Schumer would get what he deserves here is to go to jail (fat chance) or to have to resign as part of a plea bargain, again, if he even gets indicted.

It is nice to see that action is at least being considered but I don’t see it going any farther than that. Brown is too much of a career politician to try to bring harm to one of the big players in his party.

Still, we can dream can’t we?

Bush Not Running? That’s OK, They Can Pretend That He Is!

I guess it shouldn’t surprise me that Barack Obama wants to use the DNC Convention to paint John McCain as a carbon copy of President Bush but that is the latest report. Since George Bush isn’t running for President, and I know that surprises a number of my liberal friends, the second best thing to do is pretend that he is.

This has been a tactic of Obama’s from the very beginning. He thinks he can convince America that 4 years of McCain will be just like a third term for George W. Bush. He thinks that just because Bush and McCain are from the same party that America will buy that.

I think he’s wrong.

I think that tactic is a mistake that will cost him the election.

What Barack Obama needs to do is show America what he has to offer America. He needs to show us what he brings to the table. He needs to tell us how all of his experience qualifies him to be the Chief Executive of the greatest Country the World has ever known.

The problem for Obama is it doesn’t appear that he is able to do that. He has had plenty of time and no results on that end. He is great with a stump speech, probably one of the best ever, but no meat on the bones at all.

So now he is putting his eggs in George Bush’s basket. He is counting on the fact that he can get America to hate John McCain as much as he thinks that they hate George Bush.

He forgot one thing.

America likes John McCain.

More of America likes John McCain than likes Barack Obama. The media may love Barack Obama, but not as much of America likes Barack Obama as they (the media) want to think. You see, even Conservatives, who disagree with most of McCain’s record, still like him. The Liberals who have seen him reach across the aisle and shake their hand, like him. The Moderates absolutely love him.

Attacking John McCain in the way that Obama is apparently planning to will backfire. It will cause resentment in ways that the DNC has not anticipated. It is a strategical error that will be associated with the campaign of Barry Goldwater.

Not only do I feel Barack Obama will lose this election, I don’t even think it will be close. America will have their say about this strategy and the statement will be heard all over the world.
