From Newsmax:
Gov. Jindal to Cheney: Go Easy on Obama
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, frequently mentioned as a leading Republican contender for president, suggested that former Vice President Dick Cheney should back off of criticizing the national-security intentions of President Obama.
Speaking on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” Jindal said, “I don’t think we should question President Obama’s patriotism or his intentions.” …………………………………
Added Jindal: “At the end of the day, I don’t think we should be questioning the administration’s intentions, but I think it’s good to have an honest debate.”

I like Bobby Jindal, but the quotes above make no sense. Is not a reason for debate to question someone’s intentions? Despite that fact was Bush not a militaristic, bombastic, fascist wanna be tyrant that was going to enslave the world so the stock price of Halliburton would go up? Former VP Cheney is actually bringing up coherent and thoughtful disagreements ON POLICY. Leave him alone.
Our politicians are such wimps sometimes. I watch footage of real Americans standing in the rain and sleet on April 15th and smile with pride at their toughness and love of country. I wish Republicans showed one tenth of this toughness.

REPS don't realize political war has been waged on them.
Common_Cents (Diary) Saturday, April 18th at 9:57AM EST (link)I admire the DEMS in politics. They have a take no prisoner mentality, win at all cost.
It’s ironic that they are the most spineless “leaders” where it really counts.
I hope REPS are learning a big lesson right now and when they regain power they hold firm to conservative principles and do not give DEMS one single “throw me a bone” scrap of compromise.
We need to continue to rub our REPS collective noses in it so they never forget this crap sandwich.

What's' Governor Jindal been drinkin' or smokin' ?
Kenny Solomon (Diary) Saturday, April 18th at 9:58AM EST (link)A decently educated and level-headed 12-year-old can see through this administrations grab for total control of the individual and Statism/Fascism, plus a nod to the one-world-government idea.
Not question Obama’s patriotism? You’re kidding, right ?
This kind of idiocy is what got us to the point we’re all now “enjoying” so much.

Jindal no spokesman
daveleroy (Diary) Saturday, April 18th at 10:11AM EST (link)I don’t view Jindal as a spokesman for the Republicans. That being said, the Republican Party needs to develop a coherent economic message with specifics and stick to it. They Party needs to demonstrate how their policies will help everyone in this country without resorting to Obama’s brand of socialism. That has to be the message of the Party and they need to stop the fringe attacks on Obama like his birth certificate, his tax return, etc. Instead, that stuff should be handled by the radio show hosts. Its a two-pronged attack where the Party itself stays out of the fray while laying out a positive plan of economic principles. There are enough disbelievers in Obama over the fringe issues to raise doubts about him, but the Party itself needs to stick to the economy!
To Jindal: How can we have an honest debate if critical issues are off for discussion?
Rod_Patrick (Diary) Saturday, April 18th at 10:19AM EST (link)Just asking.
Governor, at the end of the day, VPOTUS Cheney sounds and looks more Presidential to me than the sitting POTUSSA Obama.
This Is The Kind of Stupidity That Plays Right Into Palin's Hands
IJB Saturday, April 18th at 10:35AM EST (link)I don’t know if Jindal is serious about running in 2012, but a few more comments like this, and he won’t even qualify as an ‘also-ran’.
Republican Governors are in a real bind
Achance (Diary) Saturday, April 18th at 10:49AM EST (link)dealing with this Administration. First, the Administration is dangling all sorts of money out there and it is hard to turn it down, strings or not, in the Democrat-manufactured recession. Second, Democrats actually know how to use the federal bureaucracy and make it do things for them rather than to them. Republican states are facing an onslaught of auditors and investigators with the misery of Republicans as their mission.
As I’ve said before, give me a small team of auditors and investigators and in a few weeks, I can have anyone who deals with federal funds and programs in jail. With appointees who are fund managers, the rules are so arcane that they cannot be fully complied with no matter how honestly you try to do so. They are also susceptible to being very subjectively interpreted. Rest assured the Feds will be highly motivate to interpret things in was that don’t favor Republicans. Elected officials are in an even worse position. The “corruption” convictions that the Public Integrity Section got here in Alaska have essentially made it illegal to be in politics. Here’s the logic: Officeholder A received a contribution from Interest 1/Interest 1 is backing Bill I/Officeholder A voted to pass Bill I/Therefore Officeholder A voted for Bill I because he received a contribution form Interest 1. That is a definitional fallacy, post hoc ergo propter hoc. It is just as valid as saying the sun set after I ate dinner therefore the sun set because I ate dinner, yet the PIS is convincing juries, even hometown juries, that this fallacy is enough to send people to jail. In all but one of the corruption convictions of legislators or former legislators, there is NO evidence of a quid pro quo for any vote.
Bottom line: If you are a Republican holding elected or appointed office, be afraid, be very afraid – and watch the people who work for you! If you’ve never worked inside a government, you have no idea how easy it is to set up and take out a political appointee.

We can't fall in the "savior" trap.
Common_Cents (Diary) Saturday, April 18th at 10:55AM EST (link)This is just one comment by Jindal, however, it provides a great lesson.
I see more and more from Reps that they are searching for their own “savior”! Wrong on so many levels.
Look at what happened when DEMS ordained Obama as “the one” w/out any vetting.
I’m not equating Jindal and Obama as far as substance, but rather, highlighting the trap of hoping someone is going to save us from ourselves.
Real leaders step up and rise to the top, they are not made by a party.
Trickle up politics is the path, and a real leader will come forward and embrace it.

First what a brilliant man, second I take away from this that conservatives should be conservatives and attack Obama by tying his policies – SURPRISE – to him.
This is 1994 formula for victory – the Reps. outlined conservative principals against Clinton and translated that into national victory. We must weaken Obama every chance we get.
