Until then, I belong to him - body if not soul. I do it without reservation, without hesitation; he is my Commander in Chief.

After that, all bets are off. I will be no longer in his charge - he will be in mine. I hope he understands that, but I don't think he does.

But then again, I'm just a "teabag extremist." and not worthy of his attention.

Yet.

If you're military, that is a tough, tough thing. If you're civilian, it really is just a matter of money and your thoughts on your future. I've done that one and if you get it wrong, you do a lot of scrimping and saving for awhile.

5 separate times. I swore to uphold the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I also swore to obey the orders of the Commander in Chief and the officers appointed over me.

I feel a bit torn. Is the CinC a domestic enemy?

No.

He was elected properly by my fellow citizens and is in charge IAW the Constitution. I will go where he tells me and do what he tells me to do.

Will I agree with it? Maybe, maybe not. Who hasn't had a boss they disagreed with?

Will I oppose him politically? You bet. I have the franchise. I have the ability to petition my government for redress of grievances. I cannot do it in uniform, or let anyone think I represent my Navy or the government.

As a citizen, he is not MY President for just as long as he feels he isn't. That may change next year, but I doubt it. I don't feel the same vibe I got from Bill Clinton way back in 1993. He doesn't have the political acumen or the smart advisors to tell him to moderate. They'll just tell him we're "teabag extremists" and don't deserve his ear.

More's the pity for a "post-partisan" administration that won't reach out to the opposition.

He is my boss, after all, and I recoiled at the "not my President" rhetoric form the left during the Bush years. Bush never treated his opposition this cavalierly, never gave them any reason to think he wasn't at least considering their position.

This guy? He obviously thinks he's President of only the part of the country that "counts" - the part that agrees with him.

Well, okay, I can play that game, too.

Once again, Neil Cavuto did not use Teabaggers as a slur (I guess you didn't click the link, which is to a Free Republic post on Cavuto's very positive live report from a Tea Party protest for FOX News).

Once again, the Cavuto link I supplied is to a very positive and celebratory report on the group of people he referred to as Teabaggers.

No, the really funny part is that early on in the protest movement, everyone -- including RedState writers and contributors, politicians, the media, and the movement organizers themselves -- called the protesters Teabaggers. The Neil Cavuto report is celebratory of the Teabaggers.

Really, do a quick search on RedState for "teabaggers." The early posts and comments use Teabaggers as a legitimate and accepted term. Look at Free Republic: It still uses Teabaggers as a keyword for straightforward posts about protest activities.

Don't you think it's bizarre to heap such scorn on Obama for using "teabag" (and as an adjective!) when a good many of the people in the protest group refer to themselves as teabaggers?

the minute we first heard his voice. I'll give him credit for one thing, though; got me listening to Rush again. I'd fallen out of the habit, but Comrade Obama seems to want to have a presser or something every day at noon eastern, eight am Alaska, so, since I can't stand the sound of his voiceI started turning off the TV and turning on Rush. I appreciate his doing that!

Garamendi said that three things won the race for him. “There was a very clear difference between Harmer and myself on the issues. He had a very conservative agenda, the Tea Baggers agenda,” said Garamendi.

http://www.independentnews.com/fullstory.php?newsid=593

Soorry, I know this probably should violate Redstate's No Profanity policy, but I am quoting a recenlty elected congressman and president here.

I had lots of problems with President Bush, but I can say that he was at least above getting down in the mud to disparage his opponents. I am sure glad we live in a post-poartisan era.

If you don't have someone who can help you comprehend the written word would you consider hiring someone?

You seem to have an exceptional facility for creating interpretations that have no logical connection to that which has been written. While I admire your creativity, it does make for a rather disjointed discussion.

I have met Pakistanis, Muslims, and Indonesians, and comparing them with Obama is an insult to them :)

They have their flaws, of course, but this can just be chalked up to elitist snubbing on Obama's part.

If you remember if July or August (can't remember) he literally made fun of the people at the tea parties. I remember the clip of him with his microphone, laughing and holding up his other hand like he was holding a tea bag. Utterly disrespectful to the citizens of the United States, who were (in most part) peacefully using their right to protest. I just remember thinking "does this guy not realize he's the President of everyone, even if they agree with him or not?" Jerk.
