The first rule of the Tea Party should be there are no “Tea Party Candidates”

First Scott Ashjian in Nevada to grease the skids for an already oily Harry Reid, now a fellow named Peter DeStafano, recruited by the DCCC to draw conservative votes away from John Adler’s opponent in New Jersey, former Philadelphia Eagle Jon Runyan.

http://www.courierpostonline.com/article/20101008/NEWS01/10080330/Dems-picked-spoiler-candidate

The fradulent Tea Party candidate is knocking down 6% in a late poll, almost all of the Adler lead over Runyan.

Their lousy ideas notwithstanding, the cohesiveness and oneness of purpose will keep the Democrat party a force to be suspicous of and reckoned with no matter what slaughter they endure on November 2nd.  The’ll just get meaner and more desperate.  The Tea Party does itself no favors by not studying and proactively confronting the tactics of Democrats.

The first rule of third parties is that third parties are doomed, at least insofar as a credible national presence is concerned.  It makes sense to expect the Tea Party will be infested with infiltrators, both carrying inflammatory signs at rallies and acting as “candidates.”

After November 2nd, the Tea Party should bask in its successes for a little while, then refocus its mission so as to survive the cruel world of a two party system, and realize Democrats are going to play their distrust of Republicans like a fiddle until bogus “Tea Party” candidates are eradicated.

Need Redstate press credential for DeVore/Campbell/Fiorina throwdown tomorrow

Is there a link someone can send me for the official credential, or even a color by numbers image?

But seriously, folks, the local talkers got them to appear together…all three of them…in a self-proclaimed, no preconditions “debate.”

I can try and shove a camera in front of them and post links to the clips, unless there is a cub reporter option one of the principals here might avail me.  I don’t facially resemble Erick, but would gladly run Redstate up the flagpole and see who salutes.

Amazing Sarah Palin head fakes Barack Obama on being soft on “big oil”

And accuses him of being soft on them.  Talk about man eats dog!

It’s not a new theme.  Even James Carville has waded into it.

But I saw Sarah Palin test drive this theme several days ago on Greta, then forgot about it.  She did it again today, and it must have hit a nerve.  First of all, Sarah Palin has street cred on the oil industry, and Barack Obama does not.  So when she speaks of the relationship between government and oil companies, she can does so more authoritatively than Robert Gibbs, whose only comeback was, to paraphrase, “so what if we took more oil lobby money than anyone else…we’re not soft on big oil…we wanted to tax them!”  And again reminds Palin Obama won the election, for whatever that matters.

And thus does not break from the theme of Obama’s disaster management in the gulf, which is “Sue, baby. Sue.”

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20100523/pl_afp/usoilpollutionenvironmentpalinobama_20100523204803

This is why I don’t wring my hands about Sarah Palin’s primary endorsements, or lack thereof.  She has a knack for putting Obama back on his heels to defend flanks he is not expecting and advancing themes that have legs in political discourse.  That’s her value to the cause, right now.

Sestak doubles down on WH job offer claim

The Obama administration’s white, career government fall guy must be ready to walk the plank, in the footsteps of Chris Oynes and Dennis Blair who came before him.

In a “catch me if you can” moment, Joe Sestak, fresh from defeating Arlen Specter in the Democrat Pennsylvania Senate primary, reiterated he was offered a job by the White House during the campaign, in exchange for taking a powder during the primary.

http://www.politico.com/blogs/politicolive/0510/Sestak_confirms_WH_job_offer_to_get_out_of_Senate_race.html?showall#

Whatever his politics, Sestak is a military guy who is at least honorable enough not to perjure himself.  Whatever his motives for revealing the job offer in the first place, a “scorched earth” moment perhaps, sensing the White House/Specter deck was stacked against him, he can’t unring the bell now, can he?

And he can certainly still win, no?  After all, he was an unwitting and unwilling participant.

And fresh meat for Darrell Issaa.

How did North Korea get so lucky to have the US running interference for it?

South Korean ship sinks.  North Korea is implicated.  South Korea threatens retaliation.  North Korea threatens all out war.  United States urges cooler heads to prevail.*

Isn’t it a little late for that?  Does North Korea get a mulligan here?  Is the worst thing that can happen to them a finger wagging much like the finger waggings before which did not seem to deter them on the way to this incident?

North Korea wins the intimidation game, thanks to the US.   South Korea just has to sit there and take it, evidently.

If you were, oh, say, Israel, what would be going through your head right now?  Especially since the US antagonism of YOUR enemies, Iran notwithstanding, is nowhere near what is advertised where North Korea is concerned.

*Say it like Captain Quint:   Cage goes in the water, you go in the water. Shark’s in the water. Our shark. Farewell and adieu to you, fair Spanish ladies.

Seattle, Arizona

Yeah, the local Fox affiliate didn’t air the video.  Get over it.

The bar keeps getting lower for narratives of raw footage on newscasts.  Recall the “40 year old white guy” we were told about, seen leaving a smouldering SUV in Times Square.  Was that a more forthright product than omitting the footage altogether?

And so what if they did not air it? The Chief of Police didn’t even bring the matter to the Mayor’s attention for three weeks.  Was the chief waiting for the onslaught of racial profiling in Arizona to give him some cover?

How many Obama Interior Department lawyers does it take to

screw in a 100 ton improvised well cap at a mile below sea level?

We’ll never know.  They are too busy whipping up lawsuits on shore while BP does the heavy lifting, so to speak.

The Democrats’ apocalypse in November, and the people who figured prominently

Katy Abram.

SAHM who got in Arlen Specter’s face and exposed his incompetence and articulated the scam that would become Obamacare.  Coined the “awakened sleeping giant.”  She called it.

Flicked off the predictable personal attacks like the fleas they were.

The prototypical conservative citizen activist.  The antithesis of a permanent ruling class.

Fast forward, writer, speaker, campaigner.  The one woman fighter that runs circles around the Democrat Death Star.

Scott Brown solidifies membership in Collins/Snowe/Voinovich wing

I don’t live in Massachusetts, but I wanted to be like all the cool kids who took part in Scott Brown’s “money bombs.”   He sure pushed all of the conservative buttons, and, in spite of his shunning any direct involvement in the Tea Party, he took their money, lots of it, and won.

Well, we’ll never know if he was the 41st vote against health care.  We do know today he was is the 4th vote against a filibuster of more debt in the form of yet another unemployment compensation extension.  On the day I got an email offering signed baseball paraphernalia from Scott, he and the infield of Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe, and George Voinovich played up on the grass to end the inning for people like me who were stranded on base.

In other news, Scott Brown balked when invited to a Tax Day rally.  Tea Party notables gave him a base on balls rather than kicking sand.  Very big league of them.

Next time Scott Brown faces the voters of Massachusetts, he won’t have the luxury of a showcase, off-year election and the national following that came with it.  He will have the state’s Democrat political machine, “reloaded” and all the wiser.

Scott, ya can’t be #41 and play on the same team as Snowe and Collins.  There won’t  be the national following of a money bomb next time.

We’re all Andrew Breitbart

Or, mad about Mad Hatters.

If you live in an area with a Tax Day/Tea Party event, your motto should be lights-camera-action.  There is reputed to be a wave of Tea Party Crashers with misspelled protest signs, malapropisms about hating socialism but loving Medicare, and general mayhem and character defamation of the Tea Party movement.  The end game is they will pretend to be you, because, as they believe, this is how you really think, anyway.

Check this out:  http://www.crashtheteaparty.org/

I think if you plan on attending, you should be on the lookout for these people and “adopt” them, or confront them to as to ascertain their veracity.  Put a camera in their faces, hit the record button and coyly ask them about their “connection” to the Tea Party, their over the top signage, and wait for them to sing.

As Andrew Breitbart showed is, it won’t take long for them to out themselves and tell you who they really are.  If you have the belly for things getting ugly, you may be in the right place at the right time.

And, as an added bonus, you’ll have youtube ready footage to set the record straight, for all the world to see.  I’m lucky enough to be in a big media market that should attract troublemakers, so, into the thick of it.

Live long, prosper, and go viral!
