Granted, with all the hurry, hurry, rush, rush, the Democrats are insisting of shoving this through makes it darn near impossible but some of our Republican Reps need to get back to Districts (or Hold a Public meeting/hearing of your own IN DC) in order to get the word out and get around the MSM as much as possible…. Holding a big shindig (Publicity stunt is not a term I have a problem with) that would bring all those that oppose the Stimulus together would be hard for the MSM to just ignore and the more they have to SPIN everything the better the odds that a few folks will finally recognize that and wake up…. Never happens if we don’t bother to try and keep at it!!!

Ask your delegation to post their tally of constituent yea/nay call-ins on their webpages. Sen. Webb of Virginia clearly was taking a poll on this….so we should be able to see the numbers what with “transparency” being rampant.

I just spoke to someone in Warner’s office and left a message at Webb’s office (no one answering the phone there) requesting that they publish on their webpages the tally of those calling in support of the pork-a-palooza and those calling to oppose the pork-a-palooza. Also, left the request with a staff er for Moran (VA-8).

In this new golden age of opaque “transparency” it would be interesting to see if they actually do it. Though of course they could cook the books.

Will the GOP caucus in the House or Senate do this (publish the yea/nay tallies of constituent calls)?

Surely that is not people calling in to SUPPORT the bill. They wouldn’t have to since appears destined for passage. Somehow, I doubt the leadersheep will acknowledge the overwhelming negative response and stop the madness. I doubt they will acknowledge the jammed lines at all.

I must have gotten through just in time. I’ve got one Republican senator and one Democrat. Vitter is voting no but Landreu is supposed to vote yes. I got one of her aides and told them how I felt about the person representing me voting for a bill that she hasn’t even read yet (yes I was polite). On her website it says she voting for the stimulus because it COULD bring Louisiana 2.2 billion dollars. Funny thing is that I have sent several e-mails along with the calls and the only replies I have gotten are from Vitter (R).

We’re gonna lose this battle, but keep an eye on the overall war. We lost the ’08 election, and elections have consequences.

The trick is to put the Dems on notice. Highlight the most egregious examples of pork. Highlight the strong-arm, closed-door tactics. Higlight the hypocrisy (48-hour review period, my a$$) Make the Dems own all of the pork in this bill, and the subsequent need for tax hikes.

And spare me the defeatism. We lived through Jimmy Carter once, we’ll do it again. The only point is limiting the amount of damage Hussein Carter Obama can do before voters toss him out on his ear in 2012.

Is use dilatory tactics, such as moving that the House adjourn as often as the rules allow, which should be at least once every half hour, then forcing a roll call vote on this. In the end they will lose, but they can drag it out, make it painful, and force them to vote on this at 3 a.m. Sunday morning.

However, don’t look for this to happen. Just as Pelosi is firing up the jet to do a ‘fact finding’ mission to Rome, you can bet that quite a few of our guys are going on CODELS that leave tonight as well, so they dont want to drag this out any longer than needed either.
