Poll Shows Brown (R) Tied With Coakley (D) Up In Massachusetts

Great news isn’t it? Republicans are tied with Democrats in the race to succeed Ted Kennedy! If sending a Republican to the senate seat of one of ObamaCare’s founders doesn’t kill O-Care, what will?
Of the 157 people surveyed so far-
Brown-12
Coakley- 13
Undecided- 9
Refused-42
Left Message (see link 4 details)- 81
The pollsters will continue polling until 500 people answer either Brown, Coakley, or Undecided
Here is the poll

This is not a "poll" and it's "no news".

It’s a random exercise in calling with no statistical significance.

Not exactly a very reputable polling organization there

But they do have a good point that it seems like no one is watching this race. I hope we see a Ras come out soon to more fully benchmark it.

Though this certainly looks good so far.

Socialism is Oligarchy in disguise

Personally, I'm hoping nobody watches it.

My ignorant opinion (I used to live in MA a long time ago but have no personal contacts there anymore) is that if all is quiet on the eastern front the Ds will assume a big victory and stay home for this special election. If the Rs can be quietly fired up I think Brown might win.

I Wish

12 to 13 doesnt amount to much and the source isnt reptuable. Doesnt matter. Polls will show Coakley leading anyway. It will be about, will, enthusiasm, organization and external variables.

Brown should be making this election a referendum on Obamacare

Mass. is suffering from Romneycare as it is. Some good independent issues ads and we might have a chance. And that 41st vote would be a huge turnabout.

It isnt as important as it seems

Id love for us to win Teddy’s seat and deny the Dems their fillibuster-proof majority in the process, but even though it ‘seems’ at first glance to be an opportunity to end the Dems push for socialized medicine, it really isnt. Dont forget, the Senate already passed it, so while they still have to pass it again after it gets changed, and they wouldnt be able to do that without 60 votes, the simple fact is that if the GOP somehow gets their 41st vote in MA, the Dems will simply force the Senate bill through the House unamended, thus eliminating the need for it to come back to the Senate. They dont want to have to do that, and it may seem right now that they dont have the votes to do it, but if it were the only option I cant help but think they’d probably find the votes somewhere. Maybe Im just being pessimistic, but I just dont think we automaticly win on health care even if we win this Senate seat, although I certainly hope Im wrong :) .

au contraire; a 41st vote is a VERY big deal

red_oakster (Diary) Sunday, December 27th at 3:42PM EST (link)

There are not 60 votes in the Senate for an unamended House bill, so a 41st vote would be a devastating blow to Obamacare.

I know its not exactly reputable or reliable

But, at this point, its the closest thing there is. No one else seems to want to poll it

Nancy Pelosi can kiss my asstroturf.

One more vote for brown on the way

I registered to vote today. I’ve never voted before in my life. I’m angry and a lot of others in this state are too.

It probably wouldn’t hurt to get some publicity about the MA election. I don’t think I’ve seen anything on the front page of redstate about this election.

Sure, its a long shot, but how much of a longshot was the NY-23 election? Sure there wasn’t a win there, but it came pretty close in my opinion.

My guess though is that if we don’t see headlines on redstate then no on is interested in this election and there is no chance of success. I’m still going to do my part though. I didn’t give up when the redsox were down 0-3 and pulled off a world series win, and I won’t give up now until all the votes are counted.

Great, except...

The “poll” leaves out the third candidate on the ballot, Independent JOE KENNEDY (http://joekennedyforsenate.com/). With the comment there that “sleepy MA voters will likely go to the polls on name recognition alone,” I’m willing to bet a KENNEDY will have more name recognition than either of the other two.

And this Kennedy is better than either candidate, to boot. Hello, Hoffman…
