Lou Ann Zelenik For Congress in TN-06

In the Republican primary for the open Tennessee 6th district, there are 2 major choices so far.
1. State Senator Jim Tracy, who voted in 6 Democratic primaries, and possibly for Al Gore in a Presidential Primary he voted in.
2. The other is former Rutherford County Republican Party Chairwoman, Lou Ann Zelenik. She has been an active member in the TEA Party movement. She is even something that should attract national Republicans, who recruited Jim Tracy into the race- a self-funder. She has already launched two radio ads. They may or may not have been pulled, as they attacked retiring incumbent Bart Gordon (D).

The choice here is clear. This is a seat (R+13), where we should not have a Republican who voted for Gore in.
Decide for yourself.

I was looking at the two people who at this point have the best chance at coming out of the primary. I don’t know much about Evans or his positions. Is he a conservative? I think we all need to rally around one conservative candidate to defeat Jim Tracy, and Zelenik seems like the best bet.

Nancy Pelosi can kiss my asstroturf.

Dave Evans appears to have Fred Thompson's support

At least it looks that way from the photo. I will see what RedState diarist Janis thinks about the situation. She lives in TN-06.

It’s too soon to tell to be honest. There are more candidates throwing their hats in the ring by the day at this point. Diane Black, a Tn. State House Rep. just applied for the job as well. Jim Tracey has the name recognition, but that’s not necessarily a plus this time around. To be honest, I was looking pretty seriously at Dave Evans myself long before Gordon announced his yearning to spend more time with the family. Evans has the plus factor for me because he stood up and said he wanted to run for the seat long, long before Gordon got the unfavorables that he did after the cap and trade vote and after all the Townhalls this past summer.

More later.
