After last month endorsing Marco Rubio, Senator Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma endorsed Carly Fiorina to take down Barbara Boxer. Inhofe and Boxer both serve on the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, which Boxer chairs. Inhofe is the ranking member on that committee. She succeeded Inhofe as Chairperson of the committee when the Democrats took control of the Senate in 2007. They don’t appear to be the best of friends. Inhofe is one of the most conservative Senators, with a grade of 96/100, just behind Jim DeMint, and Jon Kyl, who also is supporting Fiorina. He ties with Mike Enzi, and Tom Coburn, who supports Fiorina, and is also from Oklahoma. Inhofe was also named “Outstanding Conservative Senator” recently.
“Carly Fiorina is a true fiscal conservative who has made controlling our federal deficit one of her top priorities. Her common-sense approach and sharp business skills make her exactly the kind of leader we need in the U.S. Senate to help address our ballooning deficit and get our nation’s economy back on track.”

Too Bad
opoconservative Thursday, November 19th at 12:08AM EST (link)I’ve long thought of Inhofe as a closet liberal. Maybe he should come out in San Francisco.
If he endorsed Devore
redtillimdead (Diary) Thursday, November 19th at 12:18AM EST (link)I bet you wouldnt have the same feelings.I have asked for it before and I’ll ask again: On here, people used to be in favor of Carly Fiorina for Senate. Now they are not. Chuck DeVore has been in the race for more than a year (he announced DAYS after winning re-election), so his entry did not change anyone’s mind. His fundraising certainly didn’t. What is it? Can you people not stand the thought of effing up this opportunity for us?
Fiorina has been endorsed by Jon Kyl, Jim Inhofe, and Tom Coburn, 3 of the most conservative senators. She is pro-life. Against TARP. Against Porkulus. Against ObamaCare. Against gay-marriage. Against Cap-and-Tax. But, most importantly, she is against Babs.
Nancy Pelosi can kiss my asstroturf.
So much bad information.
Joshua Trevino (Diary) Thursday, November 19th at 1:26AM EST (link)Where is this alternate-universe Carly Fiorina? She sounds like someone I could support! Alas, the truth is a bit different. Let’s go down your list of qualifications, shall we?
“She is pro-life.” Find me one press statement to that effect before 2008. Also, tell me what she’s ever done for that cause. Tell me also why she’s uniformly dodged policy specifics on this issue since declaring her candidacy.
“Against TARP.” Now that she’s a candidate, she’d like you to think so. Head over to CarlyFiorina.com, though, and read through her lovingly catalogued media appearances in September 2008. You know, the ones where she defends TARP.
“Against Porkulus.” Not quite! Fiorina is on record agreeing with Obama that a stimulus is needed, and separately, she told a broadband-industry group that she was pleased at the expenditure of stimulus funds on that sector. As recently as October 22nd, she told the Web 2.0 Summit that her major critique of the stimulus was that too much went to construction, and too little to biotech.
“Against ObamaCare.” Kind of, sort of. Also on October 22nd, at that same appearance, she claimed she had no opinion on Obamacare, because, in her words, “I haven’t read the bill.” Having since realized that proclaiming ignorance of the single most important piece of domestic legislation of the year is a poor move for a Senatorial candidate, she now does have some canned opinions on it: for example, she’s for “improving quality.” Still waiting for the right answer from her, though, which is: “Get the government the heck out of healthcare.” I imagine we won’t hear that one.
“Against gay-marriage.” Kind of, sort of, again. This once more begs the question: what has she ever done about it? Her current state of residence was the site of an epic battle against gay “marriage” just last year. I don’t remember her helping out, and I can’t find any donation from her to Prop 8. What good is that conviction, then?
“Against Cap-and-Tax.” Wrong! On Cavuto just a few weeks back, she praised Lindsey Graham’s collaboration with John Kerry on cap-and-tax. And at her DC presser today — well, I’ll let you look up what she said there.
The bottom line is this: never trust what a politician says he or she is. Look at the record. Carly’s got one, and it belies her claims to conservatism now.

Let me explain this.
Joshua Trevino (Diary) Thursday, November 19th at 1:12AM EST (link)Inhofe’s nephew? Fred Davis, head honcho at Strategic Perceptions, and mastermind of, yes, Carlyfornia.
This has zero to do with conservatism.
