With all due respect Sen. DeMint should stop wasting our time and cut to the chase, and propose an amendment that actually limits the power of the Congress for once, and not our rights (to choose our Senators and Representatives). And since we're throwing around hopeless proposals, how about one that actually addresses the problems for which we most often complain about the Congress.

Since the Supreme Court has seen fit to permit the Congress to exceed its constitutional powers left and right, it is only fitting that we the people put the Congress and the SC back in their place. I suggest proposing an amendment that reinforces the original meaning of said Constitution by prohibiting (1) the regulation of intrastate commerce and (2) conditional grants and loans to States both of which undermine the constitutional division of power, and (3) by prohibiting direct grants of aid to individuals and corporations, which only "encourages the expectation of paternal care (entitlements) and weakens sturdiness of our national character."
