I am sick and I am tired of all these pathetic RINOS infiltrating the Republican party!!! I watched Scott Brown win MA with glee on the eve of Barack Obama’s 1 year anniversary of “winning” the election in 2008.
Thing is, we have been had.
We worked so hard to elect a democrat lite. I’m tired of it. And I cannot take it anymore.
This is the exact reason that right now I want those willing to not vote for any “mushy” republicans in the senate primaries that come in 2010. This includes list includes
Kelly Ayotte (RINO-NH), John McCain (RINO-AZ), Tom Campbell (RINO-CA), and Mike Castle (RINO-DE).
These are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head right now, I am fuming mad about this Jobs bill crap that Scott Brown just signed onto, and I am telling you, if any of these people I listed above wins their primary and then the general, its going to be these dem lites that have control of the GOP. I will do everything I can to stand against it, and all of these people I just listed have LEGITMATE Conservative Primary opponets. It already looks like Rubio is a done deal, so at least we got that Freak Crist out of the race, but we have already shot ourselves in the foot, Mark Kirk if from a LEAN DEM DISTRICT!!!! You really think he has conservative credentials? In my eyes, he has already sold his soul for appeasing his constituency.
Its your choice, vote for Mushy Democrat Lites that are essentially Arlen Spectors and Scott Browns, or we can elect real conservatives similar to Jim DeMint. Your choice.

Doc Holliday (Diary) Wednesday, February 24th at 2:30AM EST (link)You are entitled to your opinion, but it is politically weak. Scott Brown not only replaced one of the most liberal Senators in history, but he defeated the Demonrat machine in its stronghold. Other than a few outliers, no one here is unhappy Brown is in office.
this jobs bill is a joke, it will do nothing and will not cost us much considering the costs we already face. He must have done it for political reasons. He was elected to stop the government takeover of 1/6th of the economy, aka health-care. He is still on board for that.
I think those calling brown a traitor are deep cover lefties and a few “the sky is falling” types. Hell, the lamestream media was saying we all were calling him a traitor long before anyone was posting it, they are pushing the meme. Any check of our blog shows 90 percent of us are not saying this.
They are trying to divide and conquer as well as gloss over their devastating defeat. That is fine, but we will not help them with their talking points.

nessa (Diary) Wednesday, February 24th at 3:10AM EST (link)The biggest shame of the “Jobs Bill” is that it will be passed and foolish, ignorant people will believe it actually does something to promote economic recovery. Senator Brown is still a damn sight better than Teddy and we’ll see where he goes as things develop.

Brown sided with the progressives...
nessa (Diary) Wednesday, February 24th at 3:30AM EST (link)…big surprise there. did you read anything about him during the campaign? Why do you act like this is a surprise? Olympia and Susan have been showing us this side of New England politics for years.
But, he is a Republican, he opposes ObamaCare, he is much, much more than we could have expected from such a hotbed of liberalism. You would rather have Teddy drive another woman off a bridge and buy his way out of murder charges?
I’m really not concerned with Scott Brown’s beliefs when I say “foolish, ignorant” people will believe the “Jobs Bill” helped bring any jobs into the market. If we are successful in our conservative goals during the election of 2010 Scott Brown’s time in the Senate is limited to one term. The conservative voters of Mass will elect a true conservative in 6 years. He is a dinosaur, he will either see that his species is going extinct and adapt or he will go extinct. The problem will be solved in the minimum amount of time possible. The next election cycle.
So, there’s my one way to have it, the way that it works. had you read and understood what we were promoting during Scott Brown’s Campaign maybe you wouldn’t be so shocked now.

Why is it...
discerningconservative (Diary) Wednesday, February 24th at 2:32AM EST (link)that everyone is freaking out about Brown voting for the bill, and saying nothing about Snowe, Collins, Voinevich, or Bond? You can deride Brown for voting for the jobs bill, but would you rather have Coakley in that seat? I for one am happy to have Brown over Coakley. I am quite positive that Brown will vote with us at least half of the time, and Coakley would have voted with us never. I think we got the better end of that deal.

I think the unspoken thing about this bill

Swamp_Yankee (Diary) Wednesday, February 24th at 4:10AM EST (link)you would have socialized medicine right now. If you really want all the “RINOS” gone, so be it. But you and your super minority will live with card check, amnesty, cap and tax and socialized medicine.
The funny thing is that the GOP backed jobs bill cost four times as much as this bill and contained many of the same provisions. This is relatively small. It gives small business some tax breaks and exempts payroll taxes. The highway program and unemployment extensions are temporary. He ran under the banner “Jobs Are Jobs One” in Massachusetts. What does one expect.
He needs to show his independence at some point and I’d rather it be on these smaller bills that will only have a temporary impact than on transformational issues like radical judges, cap and tax, socialized medicine. card check, amnesty,…, which will fundmentally alter our country. If anything this will help him vote with us on more important matter in the future.

I like the analogy of government to fire. It’s taken off and out of control and I think it has to burn itself out. But please let’s not give it anymore fuel. I’m under the perhaps false illusion that a BANKRUPT gov will be easier to REDUCE, not limit, restrain, contain, blah blah. It will have to be deconstructed at some point if we are to remain free. I need to hear that and see that happening. All I am seeing are citizens restrained, contained, bankrupted and deconstructed.
It’s all I can do to fight the local tyrants. Twenty years ago a friend of mine had a monster moose rack safely attached to her building in town. Been there for twenty years. One day a planner/zoner type walked by , took a picture, and told her she needed a $35 sign permit for it. They couldn’t force her to take it down otherwise because it was historically accurate architecturally. She took it down and gave it back to her son who shot it, instead of paying the fee. I felt like shooting the sign police.

JadedByPolitics (Diary) Wednesday, February 24th at 6:00AM EST (link)NO ONE on the Conservative side of the divide is happy with Brown but WE knew going in what kind of Republican he was and the effect his election had cannot be shown but WAS FELT in DC! The fear that his election struck in the Democrats cannot be short changed. This stupid obamacare horror would have been reconciled with the House and signed by The Won.
Bottom line is he will not get the millions over the internet the next go round in 2 years but he will then get GOP money. So yes this vote is a tad bit sad but its a done deal he has made his bed and he will be the person who has to live with this particular vote (stupid vote really) for 15 billion more off the backs of Americans while the “stimulus” slush fund should have been raided for the 15B but he thought he was right WE know he was wrong and that is the end of that.

To bring the GOP back to conservatism
Christine (Diary) Wednesday, February 24th at 10:05AM EST (link)doesn’t always mean electing 100% conservative-since-they-were-12 types.
If you have a pot of water that’s gone cold and it needs to be boiling hot again, there are a couple of ways to do it. Anything super fast is either not going to work as well as you think it will or has high risks for unpleasant consequences. The secret is patience. Get the heat going under that pot. Put a lid on it so the heat is trapped inside. As it gets warmer, stir the water every now and then to distribute the heat and get rid of the colder spots.
It’s not a clear analogy, but it’s a general idea of what we have to do. Get conservatism out there. Talk about it. Warm up the electorate slowly. Get the cold ones out of there, or shake them up a bit so they pay attention. If you try to go too far right too fast, you leave the door wide open for problems.
There’s no way to get the entire GOP “fixed” in one election – and no way we’ll ever have a 100% pure conservative GOP. NO WAY. Sorry, but that’s life. Electing Scott Brown was a step in the right direction, a message to the left and a burner turned up a notch or two under that pot. We just have to accept that it’s a long road.
The primary process is FLAWED. Two states should not decide our candidate.

What do you know about Kelly Ayotte?

Conservative in the primary, Republican in the general
Sometimes we have no choice…we can’t always have the ideal candidate. There are some districts where we’re most likely going to have moderates. MA, ME, CA are three examples of this. The battle in California is a great example of how it should be done. We have a decent chance of nominating Chuck DeVore there.
Stay home and you’ve cast half a vote for the bad guys.

Scott Brown
ramcclain Thursday, February 25th at 10:08AM EST (link)I totally agree with your observations @ Brown. HOWEVER, he was most definitely the lesser of the 2 evils. I emailed and faxed him my disgust at his vote, as if he cares. I am not from MA, but TN. However, I know of 2 good friends who sent him $$, and don’t think they will do so again. It will be interesting to see how he votes on Obamacare. I think he only has 2 years left on TK’s term, so he could cook his goose with the MA folks too. However, they have proven to be pretty Left and Stupid for a long time.
I did hear Rush say yesterday that, no matter how you feel about Brown, it is vastly more important right now for Republicans to win these races and not fight amongst themselves. I consider myself a Conservative/Right Winger, but also think that forming a 3rd party at this time, will help the Democrats more than ever, so will vote Republican.
