The source of Harry Reid’s Constitutional “knowledge”

On Meet the Press today, when asked about the Senate leadership’s ability to bar the door and refuse to let the black man, Roland Burris, into the chamber to be seated as a U.S. Senator, Harry Reid had this to say:

MR. GREGORY: But what in the Constitution allows you to judge Roland Burris in, in this manner, to not seat him?

SEN. REID: The LA Times quoted part of it itself from the Constitution: We determine who sits in the Senate, and the House determines who sits in the House. So there’s clearly legal authority for us to do whatever we want to. This goes back for generations…

How nice is it that the Senate Majority Leader of the United States derives his Constitutional knowledge and understanding from the LA Times?

It was also nice of the Nevada Democrat to let all us smelly tourists in on the big secret that the Constitution “goes back for generations.” Where would we be without him to tell us that little tidbit of information?

Further confirmation that Harry Reid is an Idiot...

Although, the evidence was abundantly clear before Sen. Reid cited the LA Times as his constitutional authority on the enumerated powers under Article I.

If there was no Harry Reid, we’d have to invent another one.

Note to Rovonic Robotics: Invent alternative Harry Reid.

Justification for Expenditures: Recent performance suggests the Democrats desperately need to reevaluate the current model.

Note to programmers: Don’t make the flaws so obvious this time.

I was reading a Bible history article.

It discussed the time period leading up the assassination of Gaius Julius Caesar. The article discussed the rise and fall of Rome, but a sentence was terribly disturbing to me.

It said, “Meanwhile the government in the Roman Republic, which had been designed with a complex set of checks and balances, became increasingly paralyzed and characterized by political strife.” Ouch. If that doesn’t describe us and our current situation nothing does.

Evidence such as this diary, with a certifiable dingbat like Harry functioning as the Senate Majority Leader, makes me quite concerned for our future.

Surely we can do better than this.
