About your point about experience: experience is far less important to legislative positions than executive positions.

That said, it’s tempting to chalk this one up to “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know,” but….I wonder if Obama was pulling any strings on this one? He and Ms. Kennedy seem to be happy to do each other favors these days.

PS: As one of those “Upstate New Yorkers”, she’s certainly not my first choice. She’s higher on my list than Clinton though.
