The Republican Leadership doesn’t have the guts to repeal it!

When was the last time you heard anyone in the Republican Congressional Leadership mention repealing OBAMACARE?  As unpopular as Obamacare is, the Republicans could be scoring lay up after lay up on this one issue alone.  Instead they simply have forgotten about it or talk about amending it.  They should introduce bills to repeal it on a constant basis not talk about conservative adjustments to it.   If it isn’t exceedingly obvious by now that they are not going to seriously try to repeal it should be.   The only way they will do anything is if they feel their base will not show up at the voting booths in NOV and right now they are very confident the base will be there.

What is going to take for Republicans to realize that our leadership sold us out a long time ago.

Boehner committed to Obamacare Repeal

At the press conference, CNSNews.com asked the Republican leaders: “If the GOP does take back the majority, are they committed, are you all committed to pushing for the health care law to be repealed?”

Boehner said, “We are committed to repealing the health care law and replacing it with common sense reforms that will lower the cost of health insurance and help save American jobs.”

I said back when many were trumpeting the genius Mitch McConnell saying they would let Obamacare pass with messaging amendments and then running against the Democrats with it in the fall that they would do no such thing….I said they’d do just what the party did with the great society…they’d run their mouths about it to the party faithful all the while doing nothing to roll it back at best or aiding with it’s expansion at worse!

and here we are…(que the crickets)

Boehner and leaders on Obamacare

Public calls for repeal of ObamaCare are rising – and House and Senate Republicans are offense, calling attention to steadily-mounting evidence that President Obama’s massive health care law is crushing small business job creation at a time when the American economy can least afford it. The uprising against ObamaCare has again forced the White House into defense mode, and will gain further momentum Thursday when the House GOP Health Care Solutions Group holds a public forum on the cost of the health care law to small businesses and families. [A live feed of the forum, which will feature testimony by small business operator Gail Johnson of Rainbow Station, Inc., will be available at http://health.burgess.house.gov; House Republicans will also be live-tweeting the forum at twitter.com/GOP_HCSG as well as twitter.com/RepShimkus, using the hashtag #HCSG.]

As Congress prepares to head home for Memorial Day, Congressional Republicans are harnessing the rising public backlash against the president’s law. In the Senate, Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY), an orthopedic surgeon, has joined with other Republican colleagues to launch Second Opinion, a effort to sound the alarm about the harmful consequences ObamaCare is having on the American people. The House Republican Conference, led by Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN), has launched a similar initiative, dubbed ObamaCare Flatlines. And throughout the Memorial Day break, House Republicans will be doing a town hall blitz in support of America Speaking Out, a project aimed at involving the American people directly in the process of creating a new governing agenda.

House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH), who on May 20 stood with small business operators from Ohio outside the U.S. Capitol to discuss ObamaCare’s job-crushing taxes and mandates, today called on the White House to watch the May 27 solutions group forum and address the issues it will raise:

Two weeks and how many news cycles?

Redbirdfan (Diary) Monday, June 7th at 11:52AM EST (link)

That was how long ago that statement from Boehner was. Since then there have been more revelations about the true cost of Obamacare and instead of pouncing on every one of those, the Rep leadership is nowhere to be seen.

Michael Barone had a great article on this last week.

First, November. Then, a new Leadership

And if they don’t have the guts to repeal it, then they don’t have the guts to be in D.C. as Republicans – and we *will* make that clear.

The gutless D.C. wing of the party is going to need to change their pants. Frequently. So what?

First, though – job # 1 – we need to get to majority. Then, we can lean on ‘em to do the right thing.

Every fracking week, the Obamanistas and the Kleptocrats pull yet another new outrage out of their hats.

I don’t think the idea is dead. I just think it is hard to sustain outrage for what the Dems did on Health Care, when they have followed it with the EPA enacting Cap-n-Tax without congressional approval, the Kagan nomination, and now the probably politically motivated mismanagement of the oil spill.

Yes, I agree the Senate Repubs are too busy vagina-gazing to actually pass a repeal. But I also think that most Repubs are just keeping the outrage on the back burner until September and October.

yes, one can't sustain outrage, esp given all the ObamaOutrages and that there are
