If he wants to work to pull e-mail addresses and money in for Obama, that is his right. If he wants to hold himself out as something he is not, I have the right to call him on it. Also trying to point out to him and his “admirers” exactly what he is.

He had the class, (or maybe it was out of necessity), to keep his politics to himself while serving an administration.

I am constantly surprised by the number of people who are shocked to find out he isn’t.

Don’t be too hard on him for being what you assumed he was not.

He hung out with less conservative conservatives,( i.e. Bushes), and from reports is a pretty decent fellow.
This led many to assume he was conservative since he neither confirmed nor denied same.

He has now cleared the confusion, thank you, General, and shown that he has no place in a conservative party.

Now, if we can get rid of the rest of the squishes in the Republican party. Uh, doesn’t leave much, does it.

Gen. Powell is a product of Affirmative Action. As an African-American allegedly in the Republican party, he was one of only a few. Whereas in the Democrat party he would have been one of thousands. So Gen. Powell was a Republican when the GOP was running the White House so long as it got him promoted. Natl Sec Adv. CJCS and Secy of State. The GOP was desperate to shed the perception that it was not open to African-Americans. He knew it and he used it to benefit himself.

Gen. Powell has never advocated conservative philosophy and he has never agreed with the GOP platform. Do not give Gen. Powell any credibility as a Repulblican. He is an Opportunist and nothing more.
