Obama-inspired anti-lead law contributing to economic downturn?

The basic story is spreading around the nation and it says New law puts brakes on sales of minibikes. The cost of the law is that hundreds of millions in merchindise will gather dust due to Washington DC Red Tape.

The law was meant to protect kids from lead in toys. And in the bizarre Washington DC bubble, dirt-bikes and ATVs are in the same category as Tonka Trucks and Action Figures. Kids are in more danger of being thrown off their bike than getting lead poisoning from their bikes.

The MSM doesn’t mention that one of the big proponents of laws like this is President Barack Obama. Obama proposed S1306, the Lead-Free Toys Act of 2007, which was largely consolidated into the law signed, which led to these problems.

I wouldn’t expect giving a break to our ATV and Dirtbike makers to be a priority for the President. After all, those sort of activities don’t go on in the Blue Areas that gave Obama the Presidency, and there’s no way to funnel money to San Francisco in the process.

But if the President had good sense, he would push for the exemption of ATVs and Dirt Bikes fron this law. After all, nothing says stimulus like allowing for millions in products to be sold. The President doesn’t have the sense to do the right thing here. Be thankful your kids aren’t being put into bubbles to shield them from germs.

Another Tuesday, More Dem election woes

Back on November 4th, 2008 in Farmington and Industry, Maine, Democrat Janet Mills won re-election by almost a 2 to 1 margin. But she was elected Attorney General and the special election for her seat was held today.

The Republicans won her seat by a 2 to 1 margin. Which is an over 30% improvement on the November 2008 showing and yet ANOTHER sign that the American public has buyers remorse in regards to the current President and his policies.

In a district where 2/3rds of voters backed Obama. The voters have shifted back to the Republican Party.

The failures and underwhelming showings of the Democrat Party after 11/4 are numerous. They lost in Georgia by a landslide. They came up short in one Louisiana district and lost another district that had never elected a Republican in the last century. They lost a Pro-Obama state house district in Delaware. They almost lost a 2 to 1 House seat in Virginia (winning by 17 votes). They almost lost the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairmanship tonight.

In the next few months, it is almost certain that the Dems will quietly drop New York’s 20th district while the odds of an underwhelming showing in Illinois’ 5th grow more likely by the day. As well, Republicans will likely pick up state legislative seats in Alabama and South Carolina.

The momentum is with the Republican Party. Obama’s arrogant nature has been exposed. It doesn’t take a village of tax-cheating Obama cronies to realize that Obama is looking more and more like a one-term President every day.

Democrat electoral woes continue in Northern Virginia

Ever since the election of Barack Obama, a strange thing has happened.. Democrats have started losing elections and losing ground rapidly.

In Georgia, they lost around 5% between November and December for the Senate.

In Louisiana, they lost an open House seat as the heavily favored Democrat lost narrowly. Another Democrat, Bill Jefferson, also lost in a shocking upset.

In Delaware in a special election in a heavily Democrat district, the Republican won.

And in Virginia in a special election for Brian Moran’s 46th district (a heavily Democrat district in Alexandria), the Democrat leads by 16 votes. In yet another district where Obama won over 2/3rds of all votes, the voters are swinging away from Democrats.

This bodes very well for 2009 and 2010. There’s no doubt that the Republicans will win both Virginia and New Jersey once the natural anti-Obama base vote aligns with voters disgusted over the far-left Democrat agenda and the lack of economic recovery. And in 2010, we will win back the House and Senate. The fact is that the Democrat agenda places a higher importance in paying off anti-democratic far left forces like gay marriage advocates and unions than on jobs. The Obama stimulus plan doesn’t create a single permanent job, but it creates many jobs that would be dominated by the labor unions that support Obama. Obama’s plan is not based on capitalism and will fail.
And when the failure of Obamaism is obvious, America will return to the small-government pro-individual philosophy that built America and made it great. I can’t help but be confident right now. A lot of Americans who stayed home on November 4th must be regretting the fact that they didn’t vote for John McCain. Because it’s obvious that there is an anti-Democrat backlash brewing all over America. We’re going to win in 2010.

Did Obama aid/house an illegal immigrant at Columbia U?

How did THIS stay under the carpet for so long?

There’s a rather interesting revelation in this New York Times article that the media tried hard to bury and downplay.

In “Dreams from My Father,” [Obama] talks of having a Pakistani roommate when he moved to New York, a man he calls Sadik who “had overstayed his tourist visa and now made a living in New York’s high-turnover, illegal immigrant work force, waiting on tables.”

So basically Obama admits in his book that he sheltered a lawbreaking illegal immigrant. He refused to do the right thing. He refused to contact the authorities in order to bring this man to justice. Instead they hung out together during Obama’s hidden years.
