Another House Dem Calls It Quits: Baird (WA3)


Rep. Brian Baird (D-WA) announced his retirement tonight, The Hotline reports, “becoming the third Democrat in a vulnerable seat to announce his departure in the last few weeks.”

The district, with a Cook PVI of EVEN, “is a very fertile open seat for GOPers to attack.”

Announced GOP candidates

David Castillo (R) – Ex-Deputy Asst US Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Ex-State Legislative Aide & Navy Veteran
David Hedrick (R) – Accountant & USMC Veteran
Jon Russell (R) – Washougal City Councilman, Urgent Care Clinic Owner & GOP Activist
