Lt. Governor Barbara Lawton shocked the political establishment in Wisconsin with her decision to drop out of the race for governor Monday, but was she pushed by the Obama Administration?
Lawton announced she was running in August, on the same day Doyle bowed out of seeking a third term. However, this morning in an email sent out to supporters it left even more unanswered questions.
Lawton said “”My deep commitment to our state is second only to my commitment to my family. For very personal reasons, I will not pursue the Democratic nomination for governor in 2010.” Lawton has yet to say what these personal reasons are and even her supporters don’t seem to know.
The Journal Sentinel this weekend ( http://www.jsonline.com/watchdog/noquarter/65957092.html) had an article indicating Obama preferred Milwaukee Mayor Barrett.
Did Obama make another entry into dictating who is allowed to run and who cannot?
