Chelsea Clinton announced in an interview that running for office is a definite possibility for her future and everything is awful. Jesus take the wheel!
“While I disagree with the president … I think my family … is being really well represented. But if that were to change, if my city councillor were to retire, if my congresswoman were to retire, my senators, and I thought that I could make a positive impact, then I think I would really have to ask my answer to that question [of whether to run for office].
“For me it’s a definite no now but it’s a definite maybe in the future because who knows what the future is going to bring?”
Because what the country would need to fix it is another Clinton? Hard pass.
I’m not exactly sure how anyone could vote for a Clinton at this late date, post #MeToo and her mother’s gross negligence while Secretary of State. Not to say the children of awful people should be held responsible for things they weren’t privy to, but Chelsea has never separated herself in any way whatsoever from Bill and Hillary.
In fact, Chelsea still attempts to play the “leave the children of politicians alone” card even while stumping for her mother during the 2016 presidential campaign.
I’d honestly love to see her run and crash and burn, but I don’t have enough faith in the American electorate to be smart enough not to vote for a Clinton just because of name recognition and her parent’s political clout. Oh, and the media’s absolute devotion to praising her.
Lastly, I’ll never forgive Ross Perot for giving us the Clinton ascendancy.
