Wow. In the same week Roseanne was canceled and reruns taken off the air for a despicable late-night tweet about Obama confidante Valerie Jarrett, Hollywood has decided to block any press from attending an event where Samantha Bee is set to be praised.

Bee came under fierce fire on Thursday after she called first daughter Ivanka Trump a “feckless c***” on her TBS show. While Bee and TBS were forced to apologize, the Television Academy decided to not allow press at their event rather than remove Bee from the event program.

While members of the press is permitted to cover the red carpet, they will not have access to the actual cocktail reception/ceremony, which is taking place at the NeueHouse Hollywood. As far as Deadline has been informed at this very minute, Bee is still attending to pick up her honor tonight. TBD on whether she skips the red carpet.

TBS’s parent company and Bee’s employer, Time Warner, is fighting the United States government over their desired merger with AT&T.

The Television Academy claims they had to close off all press because of an increase in requested press passes due to the controversy with Bee. Uh huh. They could’ve simply denied new press passes and allowed those who were interested before Thursday. But no. That’s not in their interest.

The idea that anyone who called Chelsea Clinton a vile name or dared to criticize an Obama daughter would not be summarily uninvited and dishonored rather than honored is another clear double standard the left is setting itself up for being ignored, distrusted and hated.
