Police in Atlanta, Ga. have confirmed the body of missing Centers for Disease Control employee, Timothy Cunningham, was found on Tuesday night in the Chattahoochee River in northwest Atlanta.

The story of Cunningham’s disappearance has been one of the more perplexing as the story made national news and spurred many allusions to the AMC zombie apocalypse show, The Walking Dead.

Cunningham’s family and co-workers noted the talented and highly educated 35-year-old was missing from his Atlanta condominium on Feb 12, just days after he left work due to illness and having been out sick in days prior.

We still don’t know what happened to Cunningham in the hours leading up to his disappearance and death, but the not-knowing is finally over for those who loved Timothy Cunningham and the rest of us who wondered what could’ve happened to him and felt for his friends and family.

Hopefully, police will have answers soon.
