A Little Catholic Hope

Finally the US Bishops get a backbone!!! After the last few years of bending to the Left and not taking a stand on abortion the US Catholic bishops are going to get it right. Also note my Gov. Sebelius comes up again. For more info see my entry from yesterday. Catholics Bishops Vow to Confront Obama. Its about time. As far as I am concerned being pro-choice and Catholic is an unacceptable oxymoron. The Church clearly states its stance so if you do not agree he’s a grand idea……find another denomination. This is really going to mark the tone of this administrations relationship with the Church. And to add insult to injury for Team Obama the Vatican stepped in on stem cell research Vatican Fires Warning ShotOf course as arrogant as “The Messiah” is I assume Obama will expect the Pope to kiss *his *ring at their first meeting!!

John McCain drops the ball

As noted in this article from Fox News McCain on Leno John McCain counters the claims that Sarah Palin was a drag on the ticket……and thats where he stopped. Sen. McCain should have and could have done so much more.
For a man that had no trouble jumping all over people within his own campaign whenever a jab was taken at Sen. Obama (legitimate ones by the way), his performance on Leno last night was a disgrace. Why did he choose to not take the opportunity to squash the irresponsible Palin bashing going on? Are people within the Republican Party (I believe that’s what we can call McCain campaign workers) that blind?
Sarah Palin is a young, driving force within this Party. Look at the crowds she drew everywhere she went. Perhaps that is part of the issue for Mr. McCain but I do not believe it is. Truthfully this is standard John McCain, rise above the bickering fair. What we are seeing is the moderate wing of our Party attacking the first legitimate person we have had in the national spotlight that was a true conservative. It has been a looooong time since we have seen a true conservative with a backbone.
Sorry Sen. McCain but obviously the conservative base does not want a Maverick. We want a candidate that campaigns for and stands for true conservatism. Reaching across the aisle does not mean unconditional conformance to liberal viewpoints. This is not cooperation, this is called giving up what you believe in.
Starting today the conservative movement within our Party will stand this no longer. How many out there are willing to join me? We must find true conservative candidates to lead us into the future. Sarah Palin being the first. Sarah if you run in 2012 we will vote for you. Thankfully you will not have to worry about John McCain being a drag on your ticket.

Bailout Smail Out

Another bit of irritating news in regards to our governments wonderful bail out plan. A link to the article is below. In summary the Fed is refusing to release the names of some of the recipients of $2 trillion of emergency loans from American taxpayers or the troubled assets the central bank is accepting as collateral. Can you say blank check?!?!?!
In my opinion the bailout was a joke to begin with. Note to American banks and businesses…learn to manage your money wisely. If you don’t, you will fail. I still do not understand why my taxpayer money should spent on a business that is in dire straits when many millions of dollars are spent on CEO bonuses. Now we don’t want to tell the taxpayers where their money is being spent???? Afraid we’ll protest the fact that you turned around and gave more money to AIG this morning AFTER you already gave them a package??? This after they top dogs at AIG went on a $400,000 vacation when they received the first installment? Come on Bernake and Paulson…get a grip!

Kathleen Sebelius and FOCA

Granted we do know full well what President-elect Obama’s stance on abortion is but if the following comes to pass hold on to your hats. Kathleen Sebelius is being considered to head up the Dept. of Health and Human Services.
For those of you who do not know Kathleen Sebelius is currently governor of Kansas. She is an EXTREME pro-abortion advocate who also happens to be Catholic. In saying that, she would add her to name to a long list of Democratic Catholics who hold the same stance. I could use an entire post up on just this topic (which I plan on doing at some point in the future) but suffice it to say…..Kathleen, despite what Nancy Pelosi says the Catholic Church does not advocate abortions thus your stance is sinful….read the Cathocism, you might learn something.
Her stance is so extreme that the Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City in May 2008 advised her and announced publicly that she should stop receiving communion. His decision was made after numerous efforts by himself to show her the errors of her ways. Reference this article on the American Papist for more details.

Recent Letter to the Editor

Here is a letter I submitted to the local newspaper. It appeared in yesterdays paper. Seemed a fitting start.

Republicans of the greater York area take heart. Conservatism did not lose this election…..the current Republican Party did. Starting Nov. 5th the rebuilding of the Republican Party begins. We must once again fill our ranks with true (emphasis on true) conservatives. And for the 20% of conservatives that voted for Mr. Obama….you can stay on that side of the aisle we don’t need you, thank you. You are the ones who pushed McCain as our candidate. John McCain the “Maverick” who spent his career alienating the conservative base and than expecting them to miraculously back him whole-heartedly in an election. McCain was not my man in the primaries. McCain became my guy when he chose Sarah Palin as his running mate.
I for one intend to promote this return to conservatism within our party and you can too. Get the word out. Talk to people. Let them know what’s happening as Pres. Obama and the do nothing Democratic Congress try and shove their liberal agenda down everyone’s throat. Speak up when he raises the capital gains tax to 28%, reinstitutes the estate tax, increases taxes across the board (by the way……letting the Bush tax cuts expire in 2010 is a tax increase, trust me you’ll see it on your tax return), pushes infanticide (for those of you who do not know, this is when a baby survives an attempted abortion, is outside the womb breathing and is left to die), passes universal health care (which will require health rationing due to the stress on the health care system inflicted by 60 million additional patients including 10 million illegal aliens. Health rationing is when a board reviews your case to determine if you are going to receive treatment), just to name a few.
I am sorry Mr. McCain but I for one will not unify with the Democratic Party and a President pushing the above agenda. These are not conservative viewpoints. I urge you all to stand behind true young conservatives within our party. Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal in Louisiana, Tim Pawlenty in Minnesota and Charlie Crist in Florida. These people can lead us and this country back to where it needs to be. Keep up the good fight and God Bless us all.
