Right this minute I am listening to the dulcet tones of Fred Thompson on the radio. You too can listen at http://fredthompsonshow.com/.
Today’s Program:
Hour 1
Gov. Mark Sanford (R-SC) Will talk about the economic stimulus package and his refusal to accept some government funds from his state.
Hour 2
Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) Will talk about the top issues of the day, including President Obama’s budget, the economic stimulus bill, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The press release (PDF) says:
New York, NY – December 22, 2008 – Westwood One is pleased to announce the debut of The Fred Thompson Show
on March 2, 2009. The show will replace The Radio Factor with Bill O’Reilly…“When folks listen to a radio show, they make an appointment with it. It is the ideal way for me to continue my dialog
with America about the issues we all face each day,” said Thompson.
Let me be the first to welcome Fred to the airwaves and wish him great success.

E Pluribus Unum (Diary) Monday, March 2nd at 1:51PM EST (link)I’m gonna have to find a way to hit Fred’s later by streaming or whatever – because as much as I love Fred, Rush is gonna be live and real-time for me.

it must be a style thing
AKSteveB (Diary) Tuesday, March 3rd at 1:37AM EST (link)I listened in to this this morning, and I was struck the same way I was when he was sort of running. I like what he said, but he is so low key, it just comes across as unpassionate. His style is a lot like Barry Farber, one of the pioneers of talk radio who also had that real soft, gentlemanly touch. He was from Western North Carolina I think, and I imagine Fred is from TN. It must be something particular to that region.
