Oligarchy and corporatism.

Quite ironic that the old dig against the Republican Party being all for ‘Big Business’ at the expense of ‘the little guy’ can now be said about the Democrats (well, if you look at the donor lists for the past few elections, you could have been saying that for a while now).

If only Andrew Jackson were here to take them to the woodshed!

I was at a loss about that faux display and couldn;t quite put a finger on what was behind the meaning for the business guys there. This nailed it.

They love the money. They will grab it of course. But at the back of their hand, they know the repercussions. The line of thinking is something like this:

Grab the money. It is a hedge against the future calamity that is about to come because of this incompetent Obammunist government.

Many find the aftermath too frightening to ponder upon.

I was one of those who was confused. I would have thought business, big and small, would be opposed to the stimulus (and Obama in general) because
1. Taxes will go up
2. Unions will be given a free pass to spread their filth to any corporation, and
3. Any government “stimulus” takes money directly from the private sector.
That said, I have co-workers (I work for a company that does a lot of defense and other contract work for the gov’t) who are calling me a hypocrite for being against the stimulus (yes, they are also whining liberals.) But first I am an American, and then I am an employee. I don’t think borrowing printing that much money is a good idea, nor do I think it will stimulate a damn thing except the liberals radical social policy. I have children who will graduate from college before Obama is likely to be out of college – I hate the horrible effect all this will have on their lives – their innovation, their dreams, their patriotism, if this should come to pass. So if a bunch of corporate CEOs want to sell their souls to Satan, well, then they have done that. But that does not mean the rest of us have to!

it will be like pirates going after the treasure chest. The corruption will run rampant and in the end we will all pay. I will not support any business that takes “stimulus” money. But who am I? Obama does not care about the little guy or small business. It’s all about destroying small business & competition. Small business employs more people than big business. Wait until the unemployment level reaches 15%. The big business will take the cash like the banks took TARP money and it will disappear down a black hole.

Obama’s economic earthquake will shake them loose, just like all the rest of us. They can forget any ideas they have that Uncle Obama will save them. He may eat them later, but they will be devoured.
