I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. On the one hand, I am glad that someone took on the myth of Che. On the other, however, I am appalled that we actually have to have this discussion in the first place.
I may well go see the movie myself, if only out of morbid curiosity. I can, however, at least console myself with the certain knowledge that I won’t be hoodwinked into thinking that Che Guevara was some kind of hero. And why, by the way, do we continually need to have discussions over whether Communist tyrants were heroes, anyway?

No thanks, I’ll leave it to others.
It may get me a chance to start asking people why they are wearing pictures of a mass murderer on their chest. If this film brings back the popularity of those t-shirts again we’ll have yet another generation of kids who know nothing about him but priase him as a hero of the anti-establishment movement. I will NOT pass up an oportunity to teach THAT lesson.

Socialism doesn’t work. It looks nice on paper, but it’s been tried and it’s failed miserably every time (usually accompanied by widespread death and suffering).

My Favorite Che Story
Matthew (Diary) Wednesday, January 28th at 7:18AM EST (link)My favorite story about Che is that he sent spies to America to try and steal the recipe for Coca-Cola.
Yeah folks. That’s a real hero for you.
This is my favorite Che story

Stuck on Stupid
Magic2171 Wednesday, January 28th at 1:02PM EST (link)The people that praise “Che” are usually the ones that know nothing about his history.
I attended college in the 70’s and received the indoctrination by a renowned professor of political science. He impressed me so much that I began to research the subject of “Che” and rapidly became confused because the facts the professor proclaimed did not meet the history and the truth of “Che”. I asked my renowned professor about it and was told that the history was incorrect and that his lectures were what I should believe. I continued to research the subject and found that “Che” was a very small, violent, stupid, and foolish man with few if any redeeming qualities. His personal history and criminal actions he covered with his fake political beliefs and Castro and the USSR bought into them to justify the party doctrine. The acts that he involved himself in were usually aimed at increasing his prestige or his wealth. Many of his most degenerate acts seemed to have no justification at all, other then the desire to kill. I am always amazed at the hero status that academia has accorded him without even the thinnest of justification. The professor was not impressed with the research or the disclosure about his total lack of knowledge about his subject.
