I'd hate to say the democrats have escalated the level of dirty politics, as I certainly remember worse and historically Illinois politics have been a thing of their own. They certainly have shifted the game back to a level where the rules are what you can get away with. They want to be able to control 100% who will take the office. The amusing thing is the infighting as the far left in Ill. politics try to out maneuver each other to get "their" guy in that seat.
