Dear RNC Candidates: Stop talking past us.

I will keep this simple ladies and gentleman. Since before Fred Thompson was defeated last year I have felt this emptiness of leadership in our party and nation.

Instead of confronting issues and meeting them head on with solid policy we get a daily feed of precisely calculated buzz words and balanced press releases. The result? You tell me.

What concerns me is this continued theme involving the election of the RNC head with a back drop that lauds the exclusion of groups ranging from Christians by North Eastern elites to alienating of legal immigrants through candidates brandishing credentials which never existed in the first place.

Where is the inspiration? Where is that extra umph which Bob Dole and Newt Gingrinch was able to provide during Clinton’s tenure in office?

Ladies and gentlemen right now this party has absolutely no soul, nor do I believe that its leaders want one.

If there was such a desire candidates would be talking to America at large and engaging the common themes which stretch across demographics and engaging us – not just talking past us and bridging over to what ever talking points are cobbled together during morning staff sessions.

Likewise, I believe it may take years in the wilderness until this happens.

Formulating strategy grounded in the other side’s talking points is not the way to succeed in coming elections with this voting bloc or any other.

Does there need to be Hispanic outreach? Yes.

Do we do that by treating them as pre-programmed one-issue voters all on the advice of a Brown-Supremacist lunatic?

That’s a bad strategy…..

I also don’t understand how taking a bright-line law enforcement stance on the illegal immigration issue deprives the party of “a soul”

The party loses it’s soul when it starts whoring out principles in exchange for votes. I think there are more than enough Democrats crawling around the country to do that for us.

On a practical level, we’re not going to win this voting bloc over while the Democrats are ready to hand welfare to any non-caucasian with a pulse.

Did I say whore out principles?

I think not.

You know, when a team loses a game, or several games…

When an army losses on the battle field due to tactical mistakes, and not to dumb luck..

Then its time to look at what they are doing right and we are doing wrong.

Throwing our arms up and saying that a welfare check beats all and then alienating them is precisely what we did and how we failed.

Instead of talking past these voting blocks and surrending them, as you are, we need to engage them and remind them of the things we have in common.

Similarly, with Christians, I am warning that if we presist to see the hostility shot at Palin and Huckabee (his problem was with issues, but he was made into a lunatic by numerous people within the GOP heirarchy) – then expect to see that block break up and go too.

Bottom line – talk to us and engage us, Stop the cross talk of generic points.

No, No Paul -- was not criticizing your entry, really...

just the source link and how you’re seeming to relate to the soul of the party.

I got that you want the RNC to craft the message to address the issues of the American people in general, not the various demographs. I fully agree that there needs to be adjustments

I agree that we must not be exclusive. I also admitted that there needs to be both better and more outreach to minorities.

But it does seem as if there is an ongoing tack within the Republican mainstream that we have to pander to bring minorities into the tent.

Your response further clarifies that this isn’t what you were suggesting.

I, however, worry that the current (and potential) RNC leadership is ill-equipped (and too disinterested) to get us what we want the way we want it and WILL resort to whoring out our principles in order to get us to Point B.

I still believe that,no matter who gets Latinos their comprehensive amnesty, they are still welfare state voters….so why bother relaxing the border security component of the GOP platform? ….as Dr. Hernandez would have us do in order to appear inclusive…..

There you have it such as it is….

I think this also goes beyond the RNC

Sometimes Senators or Representatives post a diary here at RedState asking for help or support. My question is; Why only when it appears they want something? Why not provide some feedback on a regular basis?

They should be actively involved in relevant discussions and know the inside facts, so why don’t they present some of that here for all to see?

Trying to get the distilled and watered down version from the available sources can be time consuming and frustrating.
