What about fighting to raise minimum wage for poor Americans? Now kids have to WORK for FREE for the gubmint? what if they refuse? what if the kids are working part time to help out the family?

School should be about learning. Not about indoctrination of children.

They can do community service via their churchs, and VOLUNTEER. The point is that it should be voluntary and not a Federal program.

First, the 13th Amendment to the Constitution says
“Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.”
This certainly seems like involuntary servitude to me.
(Also note that the amendment says “their” jurisdiction and not “its” jurisdiction, but I digress.)

Second, imagine if conservatives argued that 6 year olds, because that’s what we’re talking about, should be allowed to work to support their families. We would be shouted down as barbaric. Yet Obama wants to mandate that these kids work for the good of the people and he will probably be celebrated for it. Hypocrisy anyone?
