Proof: Democrats at Fault for the Recession

This is perhaps one of the best examples of how the Democrats helped ruin the economy after winning the 2006 elections. Times were good and unemployment was under 5% but all of that new regulation and spending has really, really hurt us.

Under the Democrats, unemployment started to balloon.  It stated to climb, rising past 4.5%, past 5%, past 6%, and past 6.5%, all the way to 8.5% by the time they had been in office for just two years.  By then, President Obama had been inaugurated, and unemployment continued to rise as spending increased.  This chart explains, in depth, the bills Democrats passed, and the effects they had from November 2006-March 2010 (click for a sharper, bigger image):

You have to be kidding

Do you not understand how bubbles operate. The housing bubble had already begun to pop in 2005/6 and that is what drove our economy into the ditch. As much as we would like to blame the D’s (and as much as they like to blame Bush), the reality of the matter is that bubble economies are not healthy and cannot last.

Congress is wrongly ignoring Article V

The states have never expressly delegated to Congress via the Constitution the specific powers to make the referenced legislation in the first place. In fact, given that the states automatically have powers not referenced in the Constitution, the reason that the Senate is not doing its job to kill constitutionally indefensible legislation which usurps state powers is the 17th Amendment, IMO.

More specifically, what Congress is doing is this. Congress is wrongly ignoring its Article V requirement to petition the states for grants of specific new powers to Congress via constitutional amendments, amendments which would enable Congress to legally make the referenced legislation. In other words, Congress is wrongly practicing the adage heard in military circles that it is easier to get forgiveness than permission, taking advantage of the 17th A. to illegally bypass Article V to make new powers for itself.

The bottom line is this. The 17th Amendment and Congress can be regarded as the wicked witch and her broomstick. And in order to put a permanent stop to illegal federal government taxing and spending by corrupt Congress, the states need to repeal the 17th to effectively get the broomstick away from the wicked witch.
