It’s no secret that the democrats have never liked those “rough men who stand ready to do violence” on our behalf. So it logically follows that the White House terrorism advisor, John Brennan’s old company (the analysis corp) gets the task of investigating the recent administration failure. Of interest, his company also manages some of the NCTC data bases – so guess where the blame will NOT fall.
The NCTC has some good folks, but they, along with DHS, were chartered with connecting the dots, they both failed.
Here’s my New Years prediction: Obama chooses the CIA to take the fall, and NCTC along with DHS will get a pass.
Another prediction: Eventually it will be shown that the CIA passed the info to NCTC and DHS but it will be too late to avoid the hit.
Just my two cents, based on preliminary data.

Beware the leaks

The boys and girls from Langley know how to work the press and Congress like a fine fiddle, just ask President Bush. His Obamaness really does not want to get the fir up of the permanent class of Washington insiders this early in his term in office.

We already know that CIA and State passed the info to the NCTC...

Yes Old Crow- and Obama already threw the ball down the lane
Scope (Diary) Wednesday, December 30th at 10:10AM EST (link)with his speech yesterday, blaming a “systemic and human” error on the part of our intelligence agencies. Yes of course we also had the blame Bush in there as well, because the agencies are still using years old methods.
Low and behold, this morning an article shows up at Newsmax-
Obama Calms Intel Rift with Panetta
http://newsmax.com/InsideCover/obama-panetta-intel-blair/2009/12/29/id/344920
Of course the article contains the obligatory, but the CIA is fine with all of it, but, it’s curious that this article shows up today. The rift is between the new Intelligence head, Dennis Blair, and Panetta. Blair wants more power. Of course he does, he’s an Obama operative.
And, what about the new powers granted to INTERPOL, which has been written about here in 3 diaries. The new head of the US Interpol is yet another Obama admin pick, and was “installed” by Erick Holder back in November, long before the panty bomber. Where was INTERPOL in all this? Looking at the INTERPOL site, the US Liasions are NCB Washington, Dept. of Justice, FBI and the State Dept. Glaringly missing is the CIA.
As Mark Styn asked yesterday, where has Hillary Clinton been in all this. I haven’t seen the first word printed yet about any Clinton statements, even though this falls directly in the lap of the state Dept. I doubt Rice would have been errily quiet at this time.
Remember when Pelosi said the CIA lied to the Congress? I believe Panetta was thinking of resigning then, and, now he will probably be resigning even if it’s not his choice. For the first time in government history, we might see an entire Dept. eliminated, and then prosecuted. Why do they need the CIA now that they have INTERPOL. And, just who the heck is in charge of intelligence? is it Blair or is it the new USNCB Director Timothy Williams? or does anyone even know.
Firing back already
