Was Michael Steele Sincere or Just Being Political?

Michael Steele’s comments about the One choosing to wage war in Afghanistan has provoked many in the party to denounce Steele and call for his resignation.

But was Teflon Mike strategizing and playing politics, or does his statement reflect a deeper belief that America’s troops in Afghanistan are not worth the cost in lives or money and peace of mind?

The wingbats on the left think Steele was trying to make the Afghanistan war Obama’s–something that no one is questioning.  Some on the left even think that the war should be Pres. Bush’s to own, while others cite Obama’s escalation and warmongering rhetoric as proof that the war now has the One’s brand on it.  Even PBS labeled it as Obama’s War last fall.

It’s really just as simple as that…

If he really believes Obama started this war then all of the above is true…

If he was just playing politics and really believes Republicans could employ such a strategy that is so obviously wrong, and historically inaccurate and get away with it in an environment dominated by a pro Obama Main Stream Media is equally stupid, uninformed and worse…shows a level of naivete’ that is breathtaking in it’s scope

The “Big Tent” analogy isn’t the correct one…the correct one is a MAGNET…we need to be a MAGNET that draws these independents in who are sick and tired of what’s going on in WashingtonFred Thompson

I have found the Physicians' Creed also works

for virtually every other profession and endeavor in life: “First, do no harm.” Or, think before opening mouth. By that standard alone , this has hurt his very own party and he is failing basic professional standards. Yes time to go.

I'm not sure what audience

Steele was speaking to when he made his comments, but, he may have been pandering to the Ron Paul Libertarians who are against Wars. They want to bring all of our troops home from around the world, and, want the US to stop poking it’s nose into other countries business. The Paulites are trying to take over the Republican party and change it into what they want it to be. We saw the Paulites coming out in Steele’s defense on other diaries concerning the Steele debacle.
