Now we can explain some of Joe Biden’s behavior as patriotic rather than stingy or selfish. His tax records show he gives virtually nothing to charities. Clearly, he makes this choice so he would not have to make an unpatriotic deduction on his taxes. Joe Biden = Super Patriot
Joe Biden super-patriot

irony of obama’s accomplishments
Correct me if I’m wrong, but one of the ‘big’ pieces of legislation Joe Biden credited Obama with involved a bill concerning loose nuclear weapons that was received a 98-0 vote in the senate and was signed by George Bush. So, the VP has acknowledged that Obama’s major accomplishments occurred when he cooperated with Bush. How does that jibe with Obama’s attacking McCain for agreeing with bush 90% of the time? I guess Biden would argue Obama could have accomplished more by going along with Bush more often?
Obama’s agenda if he wins
Based on Obama’s history and what he has done successfully, I predict the following agenda if he wins the election. First year, a powerful autobiography about his time on the campaign. Second year, a gripping autobiography about his first year in office. Third year, start gearing up for election 2012.
Nothing in his background suggests there is anything he can or wants to do other than write about himself and run for office. Actually, this is a best case scenario for Republicans if he gets in. I do worry about his secretary of defense Bill Ayers, though….
The Psychology and Timing of McCain’s pick
McCain has gone on record that he will announce his VP the day after Obama’s big speech. To me, this implies he is not going to make a convetional choice (sorry Mitt Romney). He wants to steal Obama’s spotlight but he has to be careful about throwing away what should be a big newday for him. If he makes a generic safe choice the media will bury it and focus on Obama (I can see the headlines if McCain chose Romney – Top of page one: Obama offers hope and unity to nation; Smaller heading at bottom of page one: McCain picks religious extremist as running mate).
To me, the timing implies he will do something the media will have to put front and center. That indicates one of three possibilities. One, he picks someone like Lieberman. I think that’s a bad choice but the media would adore it. Two, he picks a woman. I’d like to see this. Three, he picks a member of a minority group. I view this as the most doubtful.
I think he will pick a woman because he is already hitting Obama about snubbing Hillary. An advantage to this tactic is that the Obama campaign may feel neither the annointed one nor Biden should attack a female candidate. That means they’d probably use Michelle as the attack person and the more she is front and center the better it is for the Republicans.
