Weapon-Wielding Student Thwarted by Perceptive Faculty

A Christina School District student in Newark, Delaware was apprehended today before he was able to turn his weapon on his fellow students. The quick-acting faculty of his school noticed right away when he pulled out his dangerous weapon in the school lunchroom. They immediately confiscated the weapon and proceeded to properly discipline the miscreant.

Zachary obtained his weapon as a member of a sinister paramilitary hate group, as will soon be determined by our nation’s Attorney General. The student had also been training in a dangerous form of hand-to-hand combat techniques which would likely have made him difficult to stop in his devious plan to take over his school.

School officials were quick to mete out his just punishment. He was immediately suspended from school and will spend 45 days in the district’s re-education camp where his instructors will help him unlearn his violent ways. The school district, in a statement, said rules are rules and defended its decision to suspend the boy.

We don’t have the capacity to interpret the rules handed down to us from on high. Our only course of action was to follow the letter of the rule, unable to even consider the circumstances of the incident.

For the actual story, go here. Aren’t you glad these folks are teaching your children?

We should have zero tolerance for these thugs.

Zero tolerance. What a joke.

Throw the book at a girl that shares a Midol with a friend, or has a bottle of baby aspirin in her purse, while turning a blind eye to the kids causing the real problem.

Zero tolerance means teachers and administrators don’t have to exercise adult judgment & common sense.

I thought they were teachers.

We don’t have the capacity to interpret the rules handed down to us from on high…

If teachers are too dumb to interpret rules, then what are they doing teaching?

The law states that they CANT interpret the rules. That’s what zero tolerance is… no matter what the circumstances are you have to punish, and the punishment for bringing “a weapon” to school is suspension.

Zero Tolerance is a joke yes, but until we as a society demand these restrictions be removed from the people charged with enforcing the rules we get what we deserve.

Till then Jane will be suspended for having a butter knife in her lunch box, and Tim will be in for a world of hurt for having aspirin in his locker.

Then they should have used the word 'authority'. nt

Most of it is just law suit avoidance, the rest is stupidity

about weapons. If no decision can be made, there’s no decision to be second guessed by a jury or a judge. Since so many states and polisubs have fashionably waived their soveriegn immunity, they’re lawsuit bait; governments and big comanies are ALWAYS guilty in the eyes of twelve morons with drivers licenses.

And anymore, the vast majority of people outside the rural areas are completely unfamiliar with and fearful anything that might be thought of as a weapon. Now that little red camper’s knife the kid had didn’t look very weapon-like to me, but who knows what some castrati would see. A buddy and I totally freaked out a bunch of tourists at a downtown bar this summer as we were sitting at the bar and he was trying to show me how to open my rigger’s knife with a wrist flick. We both have Myerchin rigger’s knives because we both spend a lot of time on and around boats. Boats have lots of rope and you’re constantly needing a knife and a marlinspike. Myerchin’s are big folding knives with a four inch knife blade and an almost four inch marlinspike. They are truly evil-looking things with both the blade and the marlinspike open. Anyway, we’re just casually messing with them as he’s trying to show me how to do it and the tourists started just clearing out from around us. We obviously weren’t about to have a knife fight, so I can only assume they were simply afraid of the knives.
