Several states have felt so encroached upon, that they have felt the
need to issue resolutions to the federal government regarding their
proper role… as defined by the Constitution. Arizona, Missouri, and
Washington have followed our lead and introduced similar resolutions.
We believe that Texas is next. It is high time that we started
obeying our own laws, and high time that we said no to more federal
power grabs. Please read:

I see people driving around every day
kowalski (Diary) Wednesday, February 4th at 1:43PM EST (link)I see people driving around every day with “Live Free or Die” license plates and when I visit New Hampshire and talk to an alarmingly large number of its residents, I’m astonished at how much they need to change their state motto. There are exceptions, it’s not a fait accompli yet, but the rot is spreading. I hope the residents of NH will wake up before it’s too late: they have a beautiful state, it really would be a sin to ruin it, but for so many of the citizens of New Hampshire, the motto really should be:
“Live like you you died for the government, freely.”
I traveled to Manchester to cover the 2nd Presidential debate at St. Anselm back in June of 2007 (oh, already so long ago — did anyone even know Barack Obama then? I sure did. But nobody else did.) and when I saw the Democrats arriving and campaigning for John Edwards and Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden and Dennis Kucinich, I couldn’t help but think: “My God. How sad it is going to be to watch this state, the home of so many historically free and independent people, turn into a government-run depowerment zone.”

nhrepublican (Diary) Wednesday, February 4th at 1:50PM EST (link)June 07 seems like 100 years ago. We were there incognito since Fred hadn’t actually announced yet. then, we were the resident Fred Thompson media punching bags at the Durham debate (why isn’t Fred here?). We had our picture taken with the duck (guy in a duck suit with a sign “Why is Fred ducking the debate?”). Sadly, the duck was arrested at a Shaheen campaign event when they pushed him out into traffic. You can’t make it up. This is how we choose the leaders of the free world. I never would have bet then, that the election would have gone the way it did.
NH – I don’t know what’s wrong with my state. When you see all this federal money being doled out, I guess it isn’t hard to slip into the “I want mine too” mindset. Personally, I’d rather keep my money and opt out of the process.

GregInFla (Diary) Wednesday, February 4th at 11:28PM EST (link)And “undocumented radio host”. Mark did his usual excellent job sitting in for Rush the past two days. I always enjoy his perspective on the issues. I had to arrange my work schedule so I could listen to the radio.
