the Certificate of Live Birth is a state generated and thus presumably reliable report of someone’s account of the birth and parentage. One would presume that a hospital and medical doctors would have legal and ethical responsibility to report the circumstances of birth truthfully. A parent(s) or other relative can also apply for a birth certificate by attesting to the circumstances of birth to the Sec. of State or Lt. Gov. as the case may be. I’m not even sure that the statement has to be made under oath.

So, I think political correctness and minority rights have probably conspired to make birth certificates much less reliable than probably most of us thought they were. As was the case here in Alaska, in the Sixties and Seventies it became both very fashionable and lucrative to be able to claim Native birth. The tour guides in Hawaii will tell you that white man disease and other depradations practically eliminated Native Hawaiians. While disease certainly took a toll, assimilation and intermarriage took a far greater toll. With all the Native claims settlements and special rights it became beneficial to have your birth certificate claim whatever heritage you wanted to claim, so laws were changed to make it easier to get a birth certificate and have it say what you wanted it to.

So, in BHO’s case, if his original birth certificate wasn’t generated by a hospital, it can say whatever his mother or another relative wanted it to say. The certificate of live birth generated by the state only certifies that there is a birth certificate on file with the State. It does not certify the factual accuracy of the information on that birth certificate. In any event, the existence of a COLB does little to prove anything other than what somebody reported. And don’t get me wrong, I’m not arguing that he isn’t a citizen, it’s just that looking into it a bit caused me to learn that neither birth certificates nor certificates of live birth are as reliable as I thought they were. That said, he’s hiding something; I just don’t know what.

I’ve had to show my birth certificate maybe once, 20 years ago when I got my first US passport. Now for anything including verification of citizenship, security clearances and just about anything else. A US Passport is the ultimate identification for just about anything and I assume His Obamaness has one of those. Matter of fact with all his childhood travels to the Indonesia, I would think there is a long record of holding a valid US passport by his Obamaness and back in the 60′s getting a US passport was not a simple matter.

You claim “I never said that” but that is indeed what you mean when you say no one has the right to look at his birth certificate.
Incidentally,many states do not accept a COLB as proof of identification.
