Las Vegas police had previously reported that a man, 19 year old Michael Sandford of California, tried to take a gun from an officer at a Donald Trump rally.

However it’s now come out that the man intended to kill Donald Trump.

The man has a complaint filed against him in US District Court. That complaint cites a report by a Special Agent Swierkowski, and states Sandford was interviewed. In that interview the man told officers he drove from California with the intent to kill Trump, going to a Las Vegas shooting range the day before, to “learn to shoot.”

It’s strange that a man who doesn’t own a gun, and doesn’t know how to shoot, would travel a long distance with the intent to shoot a man dead. It’s speculation on my part, but I think we’re going to find out that Sandford is mentally ill.

Regardless, it’s good that the LVMPD officer that Sandford attacked, was able to keep control of his firearm. That good reaction possibly prevented a disaster.
