Watch Cory Booker stammer a lie about Hillary Clinton to curry favor with her

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is not afraid to cover for Democrats, but yesterday it hit Hillary Clinton hard for her “abysmal record on open government”.

Enter Cory Booker. He’ll say whatever garbage it takes to cover for her. I guess he’s willing to sell his self-respect to become Vice President.

The Journal-Sentinel’s points were clear, and true:

Nothing matters more to leadership in a democracy than support for an open, honest government in which citizens are informed and in charge. It is the foundational building block of the republic upon which all else rests. And any candidate vying for the votes of the American people needs to have demonstrated a firm commitment not only to the ideal but to the reality of open government.

…In addition, regardless of Clinton’s excuses, the only believable reason for the private server in her basement was to keep her emails out of the public eye by willfully avoiding freedom of information laws. No president, no secretary of state, no public official at any level is above the law. She chose to ignore it, and must face the consequences.

Confronted with this piece by the newspaper, Senator Booker led with this line before completely changing the subject to matters like Planned Parenthood:

I think Senator Clinton not only has a commitment to open government, but she has been very transparent about her emails and now we have had them all released.

You can tell he’s nervous about this. In the video, every other word out of his mouth is ‘uh, uh.’ It’s objectively a terrible television appearance, because he doesn’t speak at all in a smooth and convincing way.

Hillary Clinton is Nixonian in her aversion to public scrutiny. Her emails, and the ridiculous lies she’s told in her ongoing coverup, should be recognized as a move akin to Richard Nixon’s deletion of key Oval Office recordings. It’s obvious even Cory Booker recognizes this, because his stammering assertion of a lie, followed by a complete change of subject, doesn’t sound the least bit sincere.

He’s saying what he has to say. One wonders if he can look himself in the mirror as he runs against Julian Castro to be Clinton’s Vice Presidential nominee.
