Carly Fiorina Doubles Down

Jesse Jackson is a hateful, left-wing activist. Does any one deny this? His Rainbow/PUSH Coalition clearly promotes a number of lefty causes if you visit the home page:

  • “Stimulus II Needed to Stimulate the Grass Roots”
  • “Reduce the Rate: 1% Student Loans”
  • “Rainbow PUSH Coalition Applauds Announcement of New DOJ Unit to Focus on Unfair Lending Practices

It doesn’t get better exploring the site, either. Read the commentaries and find gems like these:

  • “Much of America has come a long way on race, as the election of Barack Obama demonstrated. The Republican right-wing not so much.”
  • “The rabid-right – led by Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh – accused the president of hating white people.”

There is no doubt where Jesse Jackson is politically. And yet here is Carly Fiorina’s fast talk at Hogue News to cover for her comments about Jackson that RedState blew the lid off of on Friday:

Well first of all, I strongly disagree with Jesse Jackson and his politics and agenda – and he knows that. But it is also true that Jesse Jackson’s Rainbow PUSH Coalition has a huge conference in Silicon valley each year and that conference is focused on one thing – and one thing only – and that is to provide opportunities for people – no matter who they are, or the color of their skin, or what their gender – to help them achieve their potential. In this particular case, to achieve their potential in the technology world.

It is a good thing. It is a good thing, when politics is representative of the people that politicians are supposed to represent. It is a good thing when business and politics are more diverse. Not through quotas – not at all. But through opportunities that are provided, and people of merit being able to step up. I’m frankly shocked that anybody would call themselves a conservative and attack the encouragement of opportunity for diverse people.

When push comes to shove, Fiorina borrows from Jackson to attack conservatives, while not seeing any problem with using Hewlett Packard to give his hate group legitimacy and funding. Money is fungible after all. Plus, if we question her involvement with a deeply racist individual who hates conservatives and Republicans, we get accused of “attack[ing] the encouragement of opportunity.” I guess she agrees with the “Reverend” that “the Republican right-wing” has not “come a long way on race,” and is different from mainstream America in our opposition to racism?

Then moving to the radical feminist comments of hers, she doesn’t back down from her America bashing. Before she claimed that America was not a “truly representative Democracy,” hearkening back to the revolution and the colonial claims that the English Parliament was not representative, either. Now she says:

No, we should never be campaigning on identity politics. It s also true, however, that women and people of color, just like white men, bring something to the table. We live in a diverse nation. When you have half of the population as women, and yet about 15-percent of the senior officers in America business today as women, then clearly have not yet achieved a meritocracy. America is all about meritocracy. That is that someone, regardless of their gender, regardless color of their skin, or regardless of where they have come from – that if somebody works hard and has merit that they have the same opportunity, the same potential as everyone else. That is the American dream. And we have not yet achieved it, then we have work to do.

Get that? According to Fiorina, “we have not achieved” a state where “if somebody works hard and has merit that they have the same opportunity, the same potential as everyone else.” That’s effectively what she said last time, when she declared her metric of equality to be equality of outcome.

Fundamentally, Carly Fiorina believes for women what Jesse Jackson preaches for other groups. Much as Jackson believes Republicans and Americans “have [not] come a long way on race,” Fiorina would seem to agree with the claim that Americans “have not come a long way on sex.” She in fact doesn’t disagree with that core agenda, despite claiming she does.

When Jackson preaches the gospel of equality of outcome, which is of course part of the leftist “levelling” warned of by Russell Kirk in The Conservative Mind, Fiorina could be heard from the HP headquarters or the campaign trail shouting a hearty “Amen!” That is why she’s happy to work with him on “diversity,” because both harbor a hate and resentment of an America that does not reward equal outcomes to people on the basis of skin color or gender. Until there is equality of outcome, they will deny that America has equality.

They’re smart and talk of opportunity, because that’s what Americans actually believe in. But until they stop measuring America in terms of outcomes (as Fiorina does when she speaks of employment statistics and the numbers of women in elective office), it’s clear they don’t mean it. And that, friends, is just another reason why Carly Fiorina is inferior to either of her Republican opponents this year.

Carly wants to represent California but did not have the fortitude to stand up to the shake-down RICO tactics of the Rainbow-PUSH gangsters.

Yes. California is a lost cause. Is it too late to give it back to Mexico? Or at least the southern part?

Tempting

jfindl2 (Diary) Tuesday, January 26th at 9:02AM EST (link)

California is currently a net contributor of federal taxes, and even with its problems it will likely remain so for the foreseeable future.

However, if California wasn’t present in 2008, Obama would have won John McCain would have won about 47% of the vote. If California had been independent in 2000, Bush would have won the popular vote.

If California were independent it also might be harder for liberal Hollywood and San Fran to spend on elections b/c they would be in a different country. Then again, it hasn’t stopped Geogre Soros.

Finally, no California equals no Speaker Pelosi.

Although tempting, I, as one who lives outside the Golden State, would like to keep California in the union due to its innovation, help paying the tax bills, and my not wanting to be kicked by Neil for dissing his home state.

I’m a little retread, short and stout. I have no life, I reregister and pout.

Do that math on net tax contribution if

Achance (Diary) Tuesday, January 26th at 10:30AM EST (link)

government spending and third sector enterprises were removed. Aerospace and high tech are both driven by government spending. The Jones Act protects and subsidizes California’s ports. I’m not a member of the secede from CA set, though I’m not fond of the place, but CA was made by federal spending so talking about being a net contributor of tax money rings hollow.

In Vino Veritas

HP, Intel, Disney, Cisco

jfindl2 (Diary) Tuesday, January 26th at 11:23AM EST (link)

Those names are just scratching the surface of the tech companies in the Silicon Valley and the media giants around LA. How is high tech driven by govt spending? I understand if you are talking about Raytheon or another defense contractor, but Intel, HP, Cisco, et al make most of their money from consumer electronics. It is really indisputable that, almost every year, the citizens and businesses of California send Washington more money than they receive back.

I’m a little retread, short and stout. I have no life, I reregister and pout.

First, most of the underlying technology

Achance (Diary) Tuesday, January 26th at 11:54AM EST (link)

that made the consumer electronics business a reality came from government funded research or from government sponsored projects, largely in the evil defense industry and the evil large corporations. Second, most of those companies went from garages and basements off government contracts and sales of devices during the great “wiring” of government in the ’90s.

I’m not disputing the net tax claim, but there are lots of ways to look at the issue. There is a tremendous amount of third sector business in CA, i.e., businesses whose primary product is consumed directly or indirectly by government or whose product is subsidized by government. Cisco is ostensibly a private company based in CA. It makes a profit in CA and pays state and federal taxes from CA so those taxes paid offset some amount of direct federal spending, e.g., Medicaid spending, in CA. But Cisco does a lot of business selling, say, routers to state and local governments around the Country. Those state and local governments for those routers from state and often federal tax dollars. For example, if my state were to buy routers for our DHSS, most of those routers would be paid for with federal funds at anywhere from 50% to for some programs 100%. Likewise, if some SV high tech instrumentation company sells a bunch of its product to Boeing or even Raytheon, that instrumentation is likely to be charged to a federal project and paid for entirely, along with a healthy Admimistrative Overhead cost, from federal funds. So, what then shows as a profitable, tax paying enterprise was in fact totally funded by federal spending.

And if you can’t handle your finances, then go to Mexico, China, India, Japan, or whereever to get them to pay your socialists bills! Bye Bye……

left wing and racial pressure groups. It’s bad enough for any company of any size to be threatened with having a crowd of people singing songs and carrying signs outside your door every day, but it is really bad for a company like HP that does a lot of business with governments. Any pressure group is bad, unions, greenies, etc., but when the race card gets played, nobody will go near you, so you pay up. Just about the “whitest” place you’ll ever go is a NASCAR race, yet NASCAR falls all over itself to “celebrate diversity” and recruit Black drivers and owners because Jackson and the other race hustlers started threatening them. i’m just waiting for Cormade Obama to start muscling them to convert to hybrid or electic cars instead of those nasty old gas guzzlers that don’t even have catalytic converters.

Too many people view Carly Fiorina as a “good conservative GOP” – and while we are admittedly talking about California, and while one can make a good arguement that ANYONE would be better than Babs Boxer, I think that the GOP can do much better than this! MF (Diary) Wednesday, January 27th at 1:35PM EST (link)

If you lived here in CA, you’d know that it’s just not a good policy. Look at our governor, Ahnold. He’s been terrible, but still better than if his Democratic opponent had won either election. He’s signed a lot of really bad bills, but he has vetoed at least some of the bad ones. That’s better than what would have happened had the (D) won. 20% good and 80% bad is better than 0% good and 100% bad.

You just have no idea how horrific our CA legislature really is. The laws they write just boggle (and disgust) the mind. So when it comes to RINO or D, RINO is preferred. The real solution is to get the conservative to win the Republican nomination and get the RINO out of the picture.

Blacks cannot be racists...

swamphermit (Diary) Tuesday, January 26th at 9:24AM EST (link)

James Cone – “Black hatred is the black man’s strong aversion to white society. No black man living in white America can escape it…But the charge of black racism cannot be reconciled with the facts. While it is true that blacks do hate whites, black hatred is not racism.”

Rev. Wright – In the preface of Cone’s A Black Theology of Liberation Rev. Wright wrote: “There will be no peace in America until whites begin to hate their whiteness, asking from the depths of their being: ‘How can we become black?’”

It took one tape of Rev. Wright preaching for me to realize that hatred is being taught in black “churches” (more like a political machine), which – IMHO – suggests that many black Americans are taught to hate from birth.

James Cone refers to “Webster” for his definition of racism, so I’m not sure how old of a dictionary he was using (Merriam-Webster dictionary is newer) or how much he may have corrupted or twisted to suit him. Anyway, he managed to ignore or miss the “prejudice” and “discrimination” portions whilst focusing on – “the inherent superiority of a particular race,” and then he apparently adds – “its rights to dominance over others,” i.e. he comes up with – “the inherent superiority of a particular race and its rights to dominance over others.” Blacks now claim that they cannot be racists since they lack the power (wealth, gov’t power, law, etc) to dominate in a “white society.”

Even the Blogosphere is “too white” for most black bloggers, so the “Afrosphere” (AfroSpear/afrosphere) was created!?!

Carly Fiorina needs to check out what Black Liberation Theology (e.g. http://swamphermit.wordpress.com/black-liberation-theology/) is really about…

The substantial difference

edwlstr Sunday, January 31st at 10:40PM EST (link)

between blacks and whites in their response to expressed racial hatred is a very good indicator of where true racism lives. In my world, someone who uses a racial epithet or openly express racial hatred is considerd trashy. I cannot read other hearts or minds, unlike Jesse, Al and others, so I operate on explicit behavior. Definitions manufactured to suit the racial hate agenda notwithstanding, blacks can and do openly practice racism. Honest people recognize this. All this hoohaw about power politics and economics as factors in qualifying wheteher racism exists is just that: Hoohaw. It may not necessarily be a bad thing that blacks hate whites otherwise the likes of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, et al of Black Hate Int’l, LLC would be unable to make their comfortable livings extorting money from white-guilt liberals. Also the socialist inspired Liberation Theology would have passed away already. Hey, Jeremiah, it’s not 1960, anymore. Wind your calendar!! I don’t hate anyone and I could care less what color my President is, as long as he/she is a conservative, it’s OK with me.

Fully agree Fiorina is a disgrace as are the politics of NORTHeast and WESTcoast are killing us. Their political process and thinking needs to be transported to Antarctica….or farther.

I can speak first hand growing up in Northeast and having lived in So CA. There are lots of great people there but Wall Street, DC, and Hollywood Land are all in a complete Disneyland.

It’s worth pointing out that RedState, IMO, did EXCELLENT work in pointing out the EXTREME flaws with Fiorina VERY EARLY. Of course the strategic minded NRSC completely ignored this and went right ahead and backed Fiorina over a quality conservative …like DeVore.

Of course, the NRSC uses a very advanced thinking process. They don’t look at who the best candidate is or the best qualities. They look at who Arriana Huffington and John McCain “feel” the best candidate should be….and of course they listen to those two high power “conservatives” over anyone else.

And…the NRSC doesn’t mind being wrong!! Their motto is, as long as we maintain liberal moderacy it’s fine to lose all the elections that we need to. It will keep their jobs in play and they can fake it better.

A prime example of the continuation of the NRSC’s “advanced liberal moderacy candidate planning process” can be found right here in Florida. Not only did their candidate lose every straw poll in the state, but he continues to disempower all conservative principles and candidates here and slow down all conservative forward movement in Florida.

NRSC gives advanced planning and support for the BEST candidates only!!! See website for the FLAGSHIP NRSC “pure conservative” candidate in upper left directly under NRSC letters. http://bit.ly/R77sq

NRSC / NRCC / RNC…..the “CADILLACs” of candidate planning organizations!! …….NOT

As you know, I started off being tepidly supportive of Fiorina.

That being said, the more I hear from her, the more I hope she just decides to walk away with dignity at least marginally intact before she further embarrasses herself. It’s becoming a walking political farce, with everyone in on the joke but her.

If she wants to remain politically active, more power to her — It’s just becoming painfully obvious that she needs to brush up and pay her dues first.

Diversity, not unity . . .

dogcatcher1 Wednesday, January 27th at 9:46AM EST (link)

Often one can tell more about what a person really thinks by what they choose to leave out than what they include in their remarks. In this case, Ms. Fiorina has chosen to emphasize diversity without the slightest mention of unity. Then she gives even stronger emphasis to her theme with the things she mentions in support.

It is also interesting that she says one should never campaign on identity politics and in the next breath campaigns on identity politics. Which is it, Carly, YEA or NAY? I think we already know.
