Chuck DeVore channels Doctor Evil

Chuck DeVore has hit a major milestone in his campaign fundraising. In the year since he announced his bid for Senate, he has raised (dramatic music) one million dollars. Do we think he’s a viable candidate yet?

Meanwhile Carly Fiorina, who’s only recently announced her candidacy, announced early that she would not fund her campaign out of her own deep pockets. However she’s already gone back on that and is loaning her campaign some money. She has to do this because her NRSC-backed announcement, rushed out the door as a reaction to the Jim DeMint endorsement of DeVore, has clearly gone far below her budgetary expectations. Do we finally see that she’s not the candidate we’ve been promised?

California statewide races are tough for Republicans. We need somebody who can fight hard, raise money, and keep the Democrats honest. Carly Fiorina can’t do it. Chuck DeVore is already proving that he can. Chuck DeVore is not just the better candidate on the issues. He’s also the better candidate on practical and technical grounds.

Experience counts, and experience running a corporation’s share price into the ground isn’t what we need for the Republican party in a state where we already have problems. Experience winning elections is what we need, and Chuck DeVore is the candidate in this race who has the best chance to win this one. And I have one million reasons to back that up.

Im glad somebody finally said it.

Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God’s side, for God is always right.

I cant understand what has gotten into the Oklahoma guys with their support for Fiorina? I really liked these guys, but it appears that DeMint has better political instincts.

I’ve been folllowing DeVore on twitter for a while now. First of all, he’s a good twitterer, with a readable mix of policy and personal. Secondly, if you see this guy’s speaking schedule he is all over a very large state. He is incredibly busy and yet constantly cheerful. If DeVore works as hard when he’s Senator as he’s worked during the campaign, California will be well-served.

This primary is for a shot at Barbara ‘Don’t call me Ma’am’ Boxer, who also is one of the primary Warmers out there. Getting rid of her would be so Nice!

It wouldn’t surprise me to see she was behind the asinine Flat screen TV ban

Well, I’d say we knew she wasn’t the candidate we’d been promised before she announced and it was only rumors. It just seems to be the maroons at the national level who didn’t get it. I’m still not sure NY23 knocked any sense into them.

You know how this story tends to go, don’t you? First people will say that DeVore doesn’t have name recognition; then they will say that California is so…moderate…that a conservative can’t win; then they will start talking how competence is more important than doing the right thing; and next thing you know, there’s a million reasons why Carly is a shoe-in.

On the interwebs, you don’t have to have fact, logic, or money. All you have to have is a lot of time and you can convince quite a few people that the sun is in fact a giant toilet, and you can convince even more people to not debate you about it.

Before we get all gooey for Devore...

texas214 (Diary) Monday, November 30th at 6:56PM EST (link)

It really does have to be asked “CAN HE WIN”, I’m not saying he can’t and I’m not saying he won’t (I can hear the RINO comment coming now). It’s not to say Fiorina has any better chance, but $1,000,000 raised for a state the size of Cali. is a little on the paultry side, that may buy a weeks worth of ads
.
I’m not suggesting we all jump up and support Fiorina, but this tends to look like one we need to let play out.

As a Texan with no abilty to have direct input into Cali politics; Devore may have all the right positions, but gosh I might be willing to make a deal with devil to see Boxer lose.

I suggest you look at the polls before posting next time (nt)

And define "let play out"

What exactly does that mean?

This kind of debate is precisely how a primary plays out. And your comment, with your wishy washy, passive-aggressive attack on DeVore supporters (calling us ‘gooey’) is detrimental to the process.

I knew it was coming...

Let’s start with the fact that I’m could give a rip about Carly; and that neither do very well aganst Boxer in the polls (Rasmussen -9 and -10) with both having decent CA name recognition.

What’s needed is a candidate that can capture the imaginaion of the CA voters as a conservative. If thats DeVore then god bless him and we need to be behind him. The let’s “see it play out” comment is derived that sentiment.

You could always open your wallet and donate to Chuck if you are so concerned about his "paultry" fundraising.

You know, if you really did want to support a conservative.

Maybe RonPaul should help with some Paultry fundraising,

Achance (Diary) Monday, November 30th at 7:27PM EST (link)

to supplement DeVore’s paltry fundraising. Sorry, couldn’t help it; beat me now.

Not so sure about that

Art,

It’s not clear yet that the Turn Turn Turn Spit…Ron Paul Ron Paul Ron Paul supporter has made up their minds, such as it exists, about who to support.

DeVore does have a pretty darn good record on real issues that might attract PO’s voters like spending in CA, so there is that to attract the fans of the the afore mentioned deity, but time will tell, and there are a whole heck of a lot of them fans out here in CA.
