A DEAL HAS BEEN REACHED!!!
Allow me to be the first one to state, “Big Deal”.
I love this line in the linked article: “Also, the government would receive stock warrants in return for the bailout relief, giving taxpayers a chance to share in financial companies’ future profits.”
Does anyone have any doubt that any and all future profits will be used for one thing … to grow government … especially with a Democratic White House and two Democratic houses of Congress?
Count me as being less than excited.
UPDATE:
According to Larry Kudlow, the House GOP are requiring that “all profits from the Treasury rescue mission must be used to reduce the national debt — 100 percent”.
That is a refreshingly responsible tack by that group. Good for them. Fears (mostly) alleviated.
