Why The Elites Hate Sarah Palin

The media is in a frenzy and elite pundits are all atwitter. Why? Because Sarah Palin refuses to let them define her. As Palin puts it, “I don’t owe the media anything.”
The political and media elites on both left and right are rising up in anger at former Governor Sarah Palin. Stories abound, all negative, about this American citizen whose message resonates with ordinary citizens yet doesn’t conform to the current political and media template.
By all rights, Palin should be kowtowing to the media. Doesn’t she know that? Instead, this upstart dares to ignore the unwritten rules governing political behavior. Palin is playing by her own rules and that just isn’t done.
In the elite world of the old media, any contender for public office must give due deference to the unwritten and ever-changing rules of political correctness. The sacred cows of diversity, multiculturalism and social justice cannot be ignored. And the media is the only one allowed to define the issues (thereby winning the debate by default).

But Sarah Palin has her own agenda. And whatever her agenda is, it most certainly doesn’t fit into the template the media and political elites have insisted upon. This is not only unacceptable, it is downright dangerous.

When Palin resigned as Governor of Alaska, the media immediately defined her decision as a failure to fulfill the obligations of her office. That was only explanation the media allowed the American public to consider. Palin, seeing the writing on the wall after months of negative and scurrilous attacks by the media, rightly deduced that her remaining time in office would be spent countering frivolous legal and media attacks instead of governing. So she quit.
Palin understood that while in public office, one is constrained by politics and media. One must play by certain unwritten rules, rules that would have deliberately silenced or distorted her message. She rightly deduced that she was in a lose-lose situation. She exited the political arena. She refused to play the game, knowing the deck was stacked against her. I call her decision courageous and I applaud her.
Conservative columnist and author Ben Shapiro sums it up best:

“Television made Barack Obama. Television it supported bigger and bigger government, from Welfare to health care; pushed abortion-on-demand and the radical gay agenda into the mainstream; it stumped against war and for meaningless buzzwords like diversity and dangerous buzzwords like multiculturalism. Television has done more to change the politics of our nation than simple politics has.”
Sarah Palin realizes this. The media is not on her side. And she rightly refuses to give them the ability to define her. She is more than capable of defining herself, through her own words and actions. She has the courage of her convictions and, thanks to social media, the ability to convey them, unfiltered by a hostile press. No wonder the press hates her.
The media, like myself, has no idea what Sarah Palin’s agenda is. Lacking concrete facts, the media automatically assumes her motives include gaining political power. They have completely overlooked the fact that Palin already has more than enough influence and political power to participate in (and possibly prevail) in our national debate. That this influence is not subject to constraints from either politician or the media is unprecedented. And dangerous.
I believe Palin realizes that real change is almost impossible within the existing political system. It could be argued that right now, Sarah Palin has more ability to influence political outcomes than does the president of the United States. So why should she play by rules that have been set up by those already in power, rules that are designed to keep them in power? Rules that place her at a great dis-advantage.
Palin is like millions of Americans. Americans who are tired of the futile attempts to change the system from within. I believe Palin’s goal is the goal of millions – to bring about positive change. And she has found that one does not have to be an elected official in order to do this. She directly threatens the status quo and the good old boy system. If she continues to prevail, she will prove it is possible to be effective working outside the system. And this can not be allowed.
Palin has rightly decided not to kowtow to the media and political elites. Her tactics and message resonate with a large segment of America. The segment that still believes in the greatness of America and the ability of individuals to accomplish the impossible.

Palin proves it is possible to change the system from without. She proves it is possible for one un-elected American to effect real change. Just think what would happen if others decided to follow her example. No wonder the elites hate her.

Is Obama a Serial Liar?

Accusing someone of lying is a serious matter. Especially when that someone is the President of the United States. Charges of that nature should be leveled based only on absolute proof of a deliberate statement, intentionally made, whose sole purpose is to deceive. Based on this criteria, President Obama is a liar. Demonstrably so. And a disturbing pattern is emerging that allows for the possibility that our president is a serial liar. Consider:
In just the last month, Obama has made several statements that are just not so. Statements made to the American public that were in direct conflict with known facts.
In April, Obama flatly stated that implementing ObamaCare will reduce the deficit by $1 trillion. A day later, the Congressional Budget Office reported that statement was ‘incorrect,’ pegging the “deficit savings” at $210 billion over 10 years.
In the same April 15 speech, Obama stated that the tax burden on the wealthy is the lowest it has been in 50 years. A simple fact-check proves him wrong. Obama did not correct his false statement and the media didn’t either.
In January of 2009, Obama stated that it was no longer necessary to kill Osama Bin Laden to win the war against al-Qaeda. On May 1, 2011, after the successful raid by Navy Seals that killed bin Laden, Obama told the nation that he made the capture or killing of Osama bin Laden a “top priority,” and had instructed CIA Chief Leon Panetta to make this job number one. Which statement is correct?
Last week, several of my friends asked me if I believed that bin Laden was really dead. The questions weren’t surprising, considering the mass of mis-information and conflicting accounts of bin Laden’s death now emanating from the White House. It appears the question of bin Laden’s demise was only settled after al Qaeda issued a statement confirming it.

What does it say about Obama’s credibility when the pro-Arab al Jazeera media reports are given more credibility than our own president? Maybe that’s why Columbia School of Journalism just awarded al Jazeera a journalism prize.

Giving Obama the benefit of the doubt, I’ll allow for the possibility that Obama underwent a drastic change of heart and altered his position on bin Laden. It happens. But when added to the increasing number of statements Obama continues to make that defy reality, the facts, and common sense, I’m more inclined to believe Obama’s “mis-statements” are a deliberate effort to deceive the American people.
For example: Obama told the American people that NOT spending money is “mortgaging America’s future.” Who knows, it’s possible Obama actually believes this, but anyone with an ounce of common sense knows we can’t spend our way out of bankruptcy.
Another blooper: Obama stated that increased drilling will NOT solve our energy problems. Huh? Again, the media let this statement go unchallenged. (At least Sen. Vitter called him on it.)
Obama would have us believe that the big bad oil companies are to blame for our skyrocketing gas prices, despite the fact that every energy decision made by Obama, from with holding drilling permits to increased regulatory burdens being placed on big oil, has directly resulted in raising the cost of gasoline.

Obama would like us to ignore the fact that his Energy Secretary, Steven Chu, stated in 2008 that he wants to “figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.” Since then, gas prices have doubled. Mission accomplished.

Despite the pain at the pump, Obama’s energy dis-information campaign has been quite successful, with a new poll showing that only 9% of Americans believe that Obama is responsible for rising gas prices.

Tailoring the facts to reflect the most favorable interpretation is an accepted prerogative of the bully pulpit. Every president will of course, spin the news to a certain extent. This is not new. But under Obama, there appears to be a deliberate campaign by the White House and many segments of the government to blatantly deceive the American people. Consider our Department of Homeland Security:
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told Congress last week that the Obama administration is trying to come up with a new yardstick to better reflect the improvements it says it has made. The Washington Times correctly noted that, unable to meet it’s border goals, the DHS merely moved the goals.
Arizona Sheriff  Larry Deaver  pretty much confirmed the Washington Time’s report, testifying before Congress that the U.S. Border Patrol has told its agents to stop arresting illegal aliens crossing the border from Mexico to keep the illegal immigration numbers down. In other words, deceive the American people by peddling perception as reality.
Obama and his administration are masters in getting Americans to think with their hearts instead of their brains. After all, emotions are easier to manipulate than facts. And many truths are easier to ignore than acknowledge. But not acknowledging reality, doesn’t change the reality. And we ignore reality at our own peril, as we are now finding out on a daily basis.
Though not specified in our Constitution, I believe Americans should have the right to enough information to make informed decisions. Instead, we are being fed a steady stream of outright lies and deliberate mis-statements. And when we the people fail to challenge our elected representatives when they lie, we not only enable them, we become complicit. We also forfeit the right to complain when reality hits us in the pocketbook while America continues it’s slide to the level of a third world country.

Welcome To Our Homosexual Day of Silence

Friday, April 15, the Homosexual Day of Silence is being promoted in government schools across the country.
Welcome students. Today is the big day. Today is your chance to take a stand against the forces of bigotry and homophobia that unfairly targets our brothers, sisters and others in the gay, lesbian, trangendered, bisexual and gender optional community.
By your very presence here, you signify your complete acceptance and approval of alternative lifestyles, sex on demand and the right of all to engage in whatever sexual practices feel good at the moment.  You should be proud. And you may all now officially consider yourself enlightened. And empowered.
I want to thank all of you for not bowing down to the fanatical and intolerant Christians who hate sex. I want to acknowledge your bravery, tolerance and dedication to the concept of gender neutrality and the right of every man, woman and others to choose whichever sexual orientation they prefer.
We all recognize the problems you all encounter in your support of these basic human rights. And one day soon, thanks to you, gay men will not have to face the abject discrimination of being forced to use a men’s room. Pretty soon, I envision a world where all gender challenged people will be judged by the content of their character instead of their sexual orientation.
Until that day comes, however, I urge you to continue to flaunt your sexuality in the faces of those who, incredibly, still object to men swapping spit with other men. Remember, they are repressed. It’s not their fault. They just don’t “get it.”
I’d also like to thank our generous sponsors, your very own teacher’s union. Thanks to them, we have arranged a variety of field trips and a several opportunities for activism. Sign up sheets are available and you will all get class credit and a small stipend for your participation.
Sorry Jannella, we’re not taking questions. This is a day of silence. Just listen and don’t comment. Unless of course, you’re a homophobe….
As I was saying, (could you please quiet down there in back), this school is behind you all the way and will be happy to sponsor any “spontaneous” gatherings in support of our LGBT community. Our print shop has designed and printed several posters you can choose from. (What? No, sorry, we’re all out of the Jesus is a Fag signs.)
Because those mean-spirited Republicans just forced Obama to decimate the budget, our teacher’s union has been forced to limit the usual per diem. Of course, if your protest makes it to national TV, we’ll happily reconsider.
Because this is a national day of silence, I’d like to suggest some excellent visual opportunities. I have several tubes of lipstick for any of you guys out there. Having you boys wear lipstick is a great way to banish the remaining stereotypes of manly men. For you gals, we have these cute buttons with pictures of manly women and effeminate men. (Yes, Henry, you can have both lipstick and a button.)
Last but not least, I’d like to announce our Homosexual Pride essay contest. Our generous teacher’s union has offered a grand prize of $500.00 for whomever pens the most articulate and inflammatory essay. The topic is: How Marriage Between a Man and a Woman is Unconstitutional. The winner and runner-up will also be given a pass on math and science for the rest of the semester. (Quiet down!!! This is a day of silence!)
For those of you in the lower grades that haven’t yet learned to write, we’re offering a prize for the best poster. If you need some help, just holler. Just kidding! Ha, ha.
I’d like to thank all of you for your support. I’d also like to stress that your participation in this momentous event is mandatory. We’d appreciate it if you didn’t mention this to your parents. Believe it or not, some parents would object. I know, I know. But take heart in the fact that pretty soon they’ll see the light. NAMBLA has a table right over there that offers lots of good information that should come in handy should you need to educate your parents.
You are all excused from classes for the rest of the day. Now go out there and make your silence heard!

Embarrassed To Be American

For the first time in my life, I’m embarrassed to be an American.
Last weekend, as tens of thousands of Japanese were fighting for their lives after an 8.9 earthquake devastated their nation, our President, after giving a generic “We’re with you” statement, remained noticeably absent.
Not really absent – Obama could be found on the golf course Saturday afternoon.
As a Japanese nuclear reactor melted down and threatened a catastrophe of biblical proportions, Obama was otherwise engaged Saturday night, having a rollicking good time at Washington D.C.’s annual Gridiron Dinner. Joking with journalists.
There is something quite shameful about watching our President attending a dress-up dinner, trolling for laughs, as one of America’s allies struggles for life. I’m embarrassed for America, and I send my personal apologies to the Japanese people for the insensitivity of our President.
As the turmoil in Libya continues to escalate, threatening severe geopolitical consequences, it is France (France?) that has filled the global leadership void by proposing a no-fly zone over Libya. What is the President of the free world doing? During his Saturday afternoon radio address to the nation, Obama was busy lecturing Americans about the role of women. And writing an op-ed about the virtues of gun control.
Obama did take the time to give his blessing to a call by the Arab League for a UN no-fly zone over Libya. Obama called it an “important step.” This, as government tanks continued to pound Libyan protesters. I’m embarrassed that, under Obama, America is becoming comfortable following world events instead of shaping them.
Obama has clearly signaled that he is content to leave America’s fate in the hands of the United Nations. He seems to believe that a global consensus should trump American sovereignty. For Obama, this relieves him of the need to make the tough decisions usually required by American presidents. For the rest of the world, Obama’s actions and lack of actions signal weakness. And Obama has never learned the basic lesson that weakness does not appease, it emboldens.
I’m embarrassed that America’s president has chosen to punt on every recent issue of importance – from Libya to Egypt to the economy. As Obama sits firmly on the fence, refusing to make any decision that might impact him unfavorably, 3rd world countries, Islamic fanatics and France scramble to fill the world leadership vacuum. America is AWOL – seemingly more concerned with fat poor people than with events that threaten to permanently undermine US influence around the globe.
The ramifications of U.S. abdication of leadership on the world stage will have severe consequences. These consequences will apply to conservatives and leftists alike as, more and more, America’s autonomy will be held hostage to terrorist nations that supply us oil, and to China, who now holds about 30% of our debt.

Obama’s policy of dissing our allies and kowtowing to our enemies is not leadership. It is folly. A folly that has the implicit endorsement of the American people, who willingly elected Obama as their representative.

I’m embarrassed that America, under Obama, has chosen to bury our head in the sand. I’m mortified that the priorities of our president are so puerile. And I’m shamed that America, under Obama, is acting more like a global lap-dog than as one of the world’s remaining superpowers.

Was The Economic Crisis Manufactured?

In the summer of 2008 as McCain and Obama were in the midst of their campaigns to capture the presidency, a series of events dramatically changed the focus of the campaign from Iraq to the economy. From that point on, Obama took the lead and eventually won the presidency.
Now, a full two years later, the Pentagon has issued a report on the series of events that led to the 2008 economic crash. Bill Gertz writes in the Washington Times:

Evidence outlined in a
Pentagon contractor report suggests that financial subversion carried out by unknown parties, such as terrorists or hostile nations, contributed to the 2008 economic crash by covertly using vulnerabilities in the U.S. financial system
“There is sufficient justification to question whether outside forces triggered, capitalized upon or magnified the economic difficulties of 2008,” the report says
Notable for its’ absence is any suggestion that the economic events that arguably catapulted Obama into the White House may have originated in our own political system.
Consider: The economic house of cards started tumbling on June 26, 2008, when Senator Chuck Schumer leaked a memo questioning the solvency of IndyMac bank. This memo precipitated a run on IndyMac which led to its failure. Federal regulators pointedly cited U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., in explaining the bank’s failure. “The immediate cause of the closing was a deposit run that began and continued after the public release of a June 26 letter to the OTS and the FDIC from Senator Charles Schumer of New York.”
As I wrote in February of 2009 , this event, coupled with the Lehman Brothers collapse in September, marked the beginning of the current economic meltdown and provided the environment that enabled Barack Obama to focus on the economy instead of his position on Iraq – and, not incidentally, resulted in his election as President.
For the last two years, the media has neglected to connect the dots regarding the strange gyrations in our financial markets that started in the summer of 2008. After Schumer caused the run on IndyMac in June, the government moved in:
July 12, 2008 : The federal government takes control of the $32 billion IndyMac Bank. *

* Six months later, Jan 2, 2009, a seven-member group of investors agreed to buy the remnants of failed lender IndyMac for $13.9 billion. Other investors included a fund controlled by billionaire George Soros’ Fund Management.

Sept. 6, 2008 : Fannie Mae begins its downward spiral, which will end with a crash in November. This crash was avoidable, as the problems with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were identified in June of 2006, when 15 Republicans on the Senate Banking Committee introduced legislation to address the problem. Democrats, led by Barney Frank, killed the reform efforts.
Sept. 15, 2008 : Obama and McCain are virtually tied in their race for the presidency. Out of no-where, in the space of less than 2 hours, the Federal Reserve noticed a tremendous drawdown of money market accounts in the U.S. to the tune of $550 billion. Rep. Paul Kanjorski of Pennsylvania said that if authorities had not closed the banks, $5.5 trillion would have been withdrawn from US banks, which would have caused the collapse of the USwithin 24 hours.
This seminal event marked the ascendancy of Obama’s candidacy, and arguably resulted in his election as president.Fast forward to February of 2009 :
The markets reacted to Obama’s proposal to bail-out mortgages and Senator Christopher Dodd’s talk of nationalizing banks by reaching 11-year lows.
Obama continues to stoke the fears of imminent crisis, actually using the word ‘crisis’ a total of 26 times in one speech.Enter George Soros. The infamous one-worlder, billionaire

George Soros adds his voice to the media doomsayers by opining that the world financial system has effectively disintegrated, adding that there is yet no prospect of near-term resolution to the crisis.*

The series of ‘inadvertent errors’, deliberate obstruction, political shenanigans, behind the scenes manipulation of the money markets and non-stop calls for immediate infusions of taxpayer cash brought the U.S. to its knees by February 2009. And continues to this day.
The newly issued Pentagon report, along with the media and our elected officials, seem intent on not connecting the dots, considering only foreign enemies as the possible cause of the financial meltdown:
Suspects include financial enemies in Middle Eastern states, Islamic terrorists, hostile members of the Chinese military , or government and organized crime groups in Russia , Venezuela or Iran . Chinese military officials.
This author believes there is enough information to at least consider that this crisis was manufactured for political gain. Right here at home.

Obama Takes a Stand on Libya – Kinda

Obama has finally taken a stand on the ongoing carnage in Libya. After nine days of silence, he has finally, and forcefully, condemned the “outrageous” crackdown by Libyan security forces on protesters. He also said that a unified international response was forming. Whew.
Translation: America will stand firmly behind the United Nations. We will wait and see what the global consensus and political ramifications are before taking sides against a murderous thug.
The day before Obama firmly came out on the side of world peace via Libya, his press secretary had informed the world that Obama’s 9 day silence on the Libyan inferno was due to “scheduling conflicts.” Now that Obama has made time in his schedule, he has finally made a decision. America is going to let the United Nations handle the problem.
Obama, in his best presidential voice, (complete with reverb) has decided to dispatch Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to the United Nations to persuade them to take the lead on the Libyan fiasco. Hillary’s job is to convince other third world dictators that hiring sociopaths to randomly shoot protestors in cold blood is just not the way to go.

No word yet if her diplomatic efforts will bear fruit. Hope, however, is still Obama’s policy. As to whether his hope will affect change, the signs are encouraging. Gadhafi took time off from killing protesters to confirm to the world that Barack is his buddy. “He is of Muslim descent, his policy should be supported, as he now leans towards peace.” There you have it.

Meanwhile, the United Nations also showed its’ desire for world peace by making a small concession. The U.N. Development Program has dropped Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi’s daughter as a goodwill ambassador.
With the United Nations firmly in charge, Americans will not be able to blame Obama. After all, Obama has been perfectly clear from day one that he favors a “global community” over an upstart and aggressive United States. What right does America have to a premier position in world affairs? Finally, Obama is standing by a position he actually took during his presidential campaign.
America, under Obama, has abdicated its leadership authority in world affairs. Instead of meddling in other countries, Obama has instead focused his power and authority here at home. His wife is conducting a war on obesity while Obama meets quietly with union leaders to figure out how to stop the anti-union protests that threaten his base. His schedule is full as he works tirelessly on behalf of some Americans.
Not to worry. The United States still has influence in the Arab world. Just yesterday, Saudi Arabia adopted one of Obama’s most visible policies for dealing with recalcitrant subjects.

Taking a cue from Obama, Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah decided to quell unrest by throwing dollars on the problem. Abdullah announced that he will generously spend $36 billion bucks to increase the pay of civil servants by 15%. The King also announced a reprieve for imprisoned deadbeats and increased aid for students and the unemployed.

See, America still has influence. Now if some of those terrorists would just cut down on their carbs, we might finally be able to achieve the world peace Obama promised us.

What Conservative Women Want

In the news recently was a story about a workshop being held for guys, to show them how to release their inner child. Step one: learn how to cry. Reading that article made me cry, from sheer frustration.
Listen up, guys. Despite what you hear from feminists and other assorted do-gooders, the majority of women most assuredly don’t want to see you break down and cry.

As a longtime single gal, I claim a little expertise in this matter. Tears are not what women want from you. You’ve been rooked by all the touchy feely so-called “experts” who seem intent on turning a whole generation of men into metrosexuals – teaching you to be sensitive and let your inner child reign. Yuk and gag.

Women want from men what we’ve wanted since time began. A strong protector, or the illusion thereof. A man who will treat a gal like a delicate flower, even if she isn’t. A man who opens doors and brings flowers. A strong man.

A man who radiates strength and confidence will beat out a metrosexual brimming with sensitivity any day of the week. At least with conservative women. Truth.

Please, keep your tears to yourself. At least until you ascertain for sure that your woman is turned on by tears. Some are….go figure. But most of us females on the right experience a shudder when a man reveals his weaknesses before we’re sure of his strengths.

Here’s another heads-up. Hold the nail polish and hairspray. Toupees also. I know, I know. Most men are overly sensitive about two things – their hair being one of them. Take it from me, women, most women, can spot a toupee and/or hair transplant a mile away. (Think Joe Biden) Instead of signaling virility, as you intend, it signals vanity and weakness. It signals that you place too much reliance on your looks. God made personal vanity pretty much the province of the female of the species for a reason.

Men are more visual than are women. Most (conservative) women understand that. We know looks are important to you. But please don’t make the mistake of thinking women place the same reliance on your looks as you do on theirs. When choosing a man, most women have five or six priorities that place higher than your looks. Concentrate on your strengths, not your weaknesses.
Here’s another tip: If you want to be attractive to the female sex, please don’t attend any sensitivity training or heed any advice from leftist women’s groups who claim to speak for all women. They don’t.
Example: Nothing is more off-putting to a woman than a man stopping in the middle of a “moment” and asking if he has permission to proceed to the next step. That is a clear indication that you have bought into feminist idiocy instead of having the confidence to decide for yourself what the “moment” requires. This may work with liberal babes, (is that an oxymoron?) but right-thinking women yearn for you to take charge.

Just do what comes natural – rely on body language. 80% of communication is non-verbal. Which is why tears issuing forth from a man are such a turnoff. At least to conservative women.

Protect us, adore us, chase after us, but please, please don’t think a big boo-hoo is going to do the trick. If you’re unsure of what we want, just keep your mouth shut awhile. Most women will tell you what they want, sooner rather than later. Better to be thought of as wise and mysterious than as a weak sap.

Last but not least: Women want you to explore their “inner child,” not your own. The same holds true for naval gazing.

Take charge, guys. Wear the pants. Don’t be afraid to play the role God assigned you. Most women understand how hard it is for you to risk rejection. And we know that being stuck with paying the tab isn’t fair. But even though leftists think they can mandate “equality,” we also know that life just isn’t fair. Get used to it. And if you’re interested in a conservative gal, please, hold the hankies.

It’s All Hillary’s Fault!

The New York Times is reporting that the mixed messages received from the White House on the Egyptian crisis were the fault of the State Department:

A president who himself is often torn between idealism and pragmatism was navigating the counsel of a traditional foreign policy establishment led by Mrs. Clinton, Mr. Biden and Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates , against that of a next-generation White House staff who worried that the American preoccupation with stability could put a historic president on the wrong side of history.
Translation: It’s all Hillary’s fault that Obama is now being criticized for his lack of leadership during the 18 days of protests in Egypt that finally resulted in the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak.
The Times neglects to remind readers that Hillary has been noticeably absent during the whole Egyptian crisis, surfacing only after the crisis seemed to be resolved, spouting generic phrases regarding how America will stand up for Democracy. The Times also neglected to mention that Secretary of State, Hillary, had been sent on an urgent mission to Haiti as Egypt entered its’ second week of protests.
The mixed messages emanating from the White House started on Day 3 of the protests. The only "official" word from the White House was when Joe Biden stated that Mubarak should "not step down." Oops…
As Obama tried to figure out what was going on in Egypt, White House spokesman Gibbs twittered, briefly,  "..it’s not for me or our government to determine" whether Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak should leave office.
After Mubarak appeared to agree to resign the next day, the Obama administration stepped in and took the credit . Another oops. It appeared that Mubarak wasn’t really resigning. But now Obama was committed.
After another 10 days, while Obama sat on the fence and tried to determine which side would best support his own political future, the events unfolded and eventually resolved, with a complete lack of input and/or leadership from the United States.
In point of fact, President Mubarak allegedly lambasted Obama during a private telephone call for his wavering stance and inability to commit publicly to either side.
With the dust now starting to settle, Obama is frantically casting about for a fall guy. Or girl. With the help of one of his most loyal allies, the New York Times, the media template is forming. It was all the fault of the State Department. Ergo, it’s Hillary’s fault. President Obama, as usual, is completely blameless. Take that, Hillary.
It seems apparent that the buck no longer stops with Obama. We now have a president who is more skilled at passing the buck than dealing with a 3am moment. This is scary stuff. What’s even scarier is the fact that I now have to acknowledge that there are even worse presidential candidates than Hillary Clinton.

Dear Obama, Please Leave Me Alone

Dear Obama,
I’m  not a member of the elite. I’m not a millionaire and I don’t claim to have any power or influence. I’m just an average taxpayer who lives in fly-over country. On behalf of all the Suzy Homemaker’s and Joe Six-Pack’s who are my neighbors, I’d like to request a favor. Please, please, leave us alone.
With all due respect for your office Mr. Obama, you were not elected to tell me what to do. You were elected to protect and defend my right to do it, as long as it’s not illegal. (Please refer to the 10th amendment)
I left home years ago and have learned how to take care of myself. I don’t need, or want you dictating to me how much salt I can use, where I can smoke, what car I can drive, which light bulbs to use, what temperature I set my thermostat to, which religions and sexual preferences I should respect, and which thoughts I can express. I know you’re all in favor of choice, so please respect mine. Please, please just leave me alone.
I’d also appreciate if you could leave my doctor, insurance company, bank and employer alone. It seems that everything you do in my name just costs me more money. Money I can’t afford because I’m on a very tight budget for the next two years. And unlike you, I can’t just print some more. I would if I could. (Ha Ha, just kidding)
While we’re on the subject, could you please pass along a message to your wife? Please tell her that, even though I am no "expert," I’d prefer if she quit trying to regulate the behavior of my kids. I know best what their diet, education and beliefs should be. I know she’s spending a lot of our money on her good works, but I’m firmly convinced that if she just concentrated on Sasha and Malika -and her own garden - we would all be much better off.
I hope this doesn’t sound rude Mr President, but most of the stuff you and Michelle are doing up there in D.C. are things that are morally, legally, personally and constitutionally just none of your business. You are not my daddy. Sir.
On a more positive note: Here’s a big shout out for your handling of the Egypt crisis. Even though it took a week, you finally took a stand. You looked very presidential. Personally, I’m not convinced you should have chosen sides so early, but, like you, I was pretty sure everything would die down after your call to Mubarak. What a coup - all it took was one phone call from you and he decides to resign. Kudos.
Again, I’m no "expert," but I’m getting pretty mad at those darn Muslims, especially after all your "outreach." You’d think they would be grateful. Go figure
I’m sorry your signature health care legislation has been ruled unconstitutional. It’s a good thing that ruling won’t affect your own health care plan. I’ve been worried at how skinny you’re getting. And speaking of health care, I don’t mean to nag, but could you please cut down on your smoking? And maybe you should cut down on your partying, too. I know, I know, who am I to tell you what to do? But I do worry about you, and I don’t think America is ready for a President Biden.
I know you’re a busy guy, what with all the stuff you’ve decided to take on, but I hope you have time to read this letter. Granted, I’m just a nobody, but I do have a second cousin who used to work for G.E. – and my best friend belongs to a union. Oh, and I still have a vote, too. Even though I’m not dead yet. (That’s a joke)
I hear you watched the Super Bowl with J Lo last weekend. How cool!
Take care and hang tight,

Newsflash: Obama (Almost) Saves The World

According to media reports, President Obama (almost) resolved the spiraling Egyptian crisis in one “private message” to Hosni Mubarak. “Mubarak Promise Comes After Private Obama Message” AP reports.

President Obama is firmly in charge and appears to finally be calling the shots. In a bold, presidential moment, Obama said Tuesday evening that he has told Mubarak that a transition to representative government “must begin now.”

For the millions of Americans who only watch CNN, it appears that our president has, once again, saved the day. Only problem is, it’s just not so.
On Monday, after maintaining a conspicuous silence throughout the escalating Egyptian protests, Obama finally revealed America’s stance on the escalating Egyptian crisis. A full week after they started.  White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said it is “not for me or our government to determine” whether Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak should leave office.
Translation: America, via Obama, is firmly committed to sitting on the fence and waiting for the situation to resolve itself. As it appeared to do on Tuesday, with Mubarak announcing the he would not be running for re-election.
With a response time measured in minutes, Obama appeared on national news and claimed the credit. The Washington Post reported:
President Obama, clearly frustrated by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak’s intention to retain his hold on power until elections later this year, said Tuesday evening that he has told Mubarak that a transition to representative government “must begin now.”
Taking a cue from George Bush’s famous “We hear you now” declaration made on the burning embers of the World Trade Center, Obama proceeded to voice his support for the Egyptian protestors, saying the passion and dignity demonstrated by the people of Egypt has been an inspiration. He says young protesters will reach their destiny. “We hear you now!” Obama stated.
The media ignored the fact that it took a full week for our president to be so inspired, while giving full credence to the “private message” Obama reportedly sent to Mubarak which reportedly persuaded Mubarak to announce he would finally step down. Does anyone else smell a rat?
Like every other issue Obama has faced in the last two years, he maintained a deafening silence until he saw which way the wind was blowing. Then he jumped on board and took the credit.  Following events and maintaining silence until there is no political risk is not leadership.
The good news is, Obama has finally taken a stand. The bad news is, he is now committed to those who want Mubarak out now. Unfolding events show this crisis is far from over. With communications now restored, Americans are watching live as this crisis spirals into yet another phase.

Waiting to place a bet until after the race is run is not leadership. And claiming success for a position he never took is shameful. Almost as shameful as trying to obtain courage on the cheap by trying to associate himself with the real leadership George Bush took. “We hear you now” indeed.

China’s Dead Babies

America is shocked, shocked ! Kermit Gosnell, a 69 year old abortion doctor, was arrested last week, charged with killing seven babies and causing the death of a woman during a botched abortion. An illegal, late-term abortion. Prosecutors are accusing Gosnell of using scissors to snip the spinal cords of 7 babies who were inconveniently born alive.

CBS news reports that "Gosnell is suspected of killing hundreds of living babies over the course of his 30-year practice." Surprisingly, this story is being reported in all its gruesome details by the mainstream media. The same media who, for decades, have reported on abortions issues only in the context of "women’s rights" and "choice."
As Americans gasp in horror over the sordid details of killing living babies and tossing them in the trash, our President is wining and dining a man who is responsible for enabling thousands of Kermit Gosnells. I refer to Chinese President Hu Jintao. And China’s 40 year-old policy, yawn, of forced abortions.
In the early 80′s, China decided they had to cut down on their burgeoning population. They instituted a "one-child" policy, decreeing that no woman was allowed to have more than one child.
In order to enforce this draconian policy, every village in China appointed a population control officer, whose responsibility was to enforce this rule. If a woman was caught trying to have more than one child, the penalties ranged from economic penalties to burning down her house. If the woman persisted in giving birth, her whole village was penalized.
Steven Mosher of the Population Research Institute, is the only living American witness to this forced abortion policy. Living in rural Guangdong in 1980, Mosher viewed (and documented) the killing huts – the huts where 9-month pregnant women were forced to go in order to have poison injected into their wombs. The women had to wait in these huts 24 hours, or until the poison forced the baby out of her womb.
If the baby was alive, it was placed in a pail of boiling water. Others were placed in an airtight jar. One particularly zealous doctor, Dr. Yin, induced premature labor. When the baby crowned, he would inject pure formaldehyde through the fontanel directly into the babies’ brain. Other babies inconveniently born alive were tossed into a pile, where they cried for many hours before finally taking their last breaths.
China practiced varying methods of abortion and prevention to find the the most efficient way to destroy these unwanted babies. And they were successful. It has been estimated that 1.7 million female babies "went missing" every year, through abortion, and/or murder by parents who needed a boy baby to take care of them in their old age.
This policy does not stop at China’s borders. Chin An, (not her real name) the population control officer of a small village whose story was chronicled by Mosher in ‘A Mother’s Ordeal’ was granted a visa to join her husband in America. She then found that she was pregnant. Having already had her quota of one child, she found that, even in America, she was being watched by Chinese agents, who informed her that her family in China and all the workers in the factory she used to work would be punished if she had this second child.
As President Obama wined and dined China’s President Hu Jintao last week, former Tiananmen Square student leader Chai Ling, pointed out, “As we gather here in Washington, over 35,000 forced and coerced abortions are taking place today in China.”
Obama told the American people that there has been “evolution” in human rights in China over the last three decades, saying China is willing to have a dialogue on the issue on the basis of mutual respect and non-interference into China’s internal affairs.
Translation: China has warned America, once again, to keep its nose out of China’s business. As for the "mutual respect," it appears the respect is only one sided.
The People’s Daily, on the eve of Chinese President Hu Jintao’s state visit to Washington published glaring headlines: "U.S. No. 1 No More." The article went on to boast how "China’s emergence is increasingly shifting to debate over how the world will treat China, which is the world No. 1 and has overtaken the U.S."

Compounding the lack of respect portrayed by China, the Chinese pianist at the state dinner played a tune that all Chinese recognize as encouraging hatred of the United States as the enemy of China.

Obama wasn’t even aware that he was being portrayed as a fool for displaying such fawning deference to a man who was blatantly disrespecting him for all the world to see.
Instead, our president appears to agree with Hu Jintao. Last week, Obama acknowledged the decline of US dominance . He then went on to welcome China’s rise on the global stage. And no wonder. China is a model Obama would have America emulate. Time Magazine posted a fawning article about the new model of "state capitalism" being practiced in China. Holding it up as a model for America.
Based on his own writings, Obama would dearly love to implement China’s policies here in America. In China, citizens are forced to place fealty to the state over fealty to God. In China, the state rules with an iron hand, and those who dissent are silenced. No need for national conversations on vital issues. No Fox News or Glenn Becks. No pesky Christians advocating morality and adherence to God’s word. Just absolute obedience to the state. In all things.
This is the utopia the left yearns for. This is the path Obama wants America to take. A path strewn with the dead bodies of babies, dissidents and anyone who dares question the supremacy of the divine leader.
American’s beware. And to all you young Americans who dream of having large families, you’d better hurry up.

A Delicious Orgy

Game, set and match to the leftist media. Once again, they have defined the issue and set the terms of the debate on the horrific shootings in Arizona last weekend.
He who defines the issues wins. Period. And the liberal media has the right on the ropes – putting them, once again, in the lose-lose proposition of proving a negative.
Along the lines of “Have you quit beating your wife?”, the new template fostered by the leftist media focuses on the riveting question of who caused a lone nut to express his inner self by blowing away a federal judge, a 9 year-old girl and an unfortunate Congresswoman. As the media has pretty much ignored the other fatalities killed by this loon, I’m left calling them incidental casualties.
Oh, the delicious opportunities…. The President finally had a chance to show his empathy on a global stage. And not incidentally, roll out the new slogan for his re-election campaign. The T-shirts made available to mourners didn’t mention the dead. They proclaimed instead Obama’s new slogan: “Together We Thrive.” Huh? American Thinker has a wonderful piece on the origins of this phrase. I digress…
Assorted elected officials seized the opportunity to opine on the absolute dangers they face every day as they diligently toil for the people. “Aren’t we brave?” they imply, as they jockey for the new status symbol of a taxpayer funded bodyguard.
Making hay while the going is good, Sen. Barbara Boxer called for federal regulations on concealed weapons permits. Ignoring the reality that a few concealed weapons would have stopped this nut job in his tracks.
Meanwhile, Rep. James Clyburn, South Carolina Democrat, taking a cue from Emanuel regarding never letting a good crisis go to waste, is demanding the return of the “Fairness Doctrine,” which would compel radio stations to grant equal time to leftist views.
Various friends of both the shooter and the shot also got a chance to grab their 15 minutes of fame. Finally, they’re somebody.
The right, once again, entered the fray on the defense. Forced to rebut emotional statements totally devoid of facts, they nevertheless chimed in, denying that they are the cause of this nut job’s inner angst.
All the spokesmen on the right joined in this non-debate. From Rush Limbaugh, to Glenn Beck to Neal Boortz, to Bill O’Reilly – all have fallen into the media trap of being forced to prove a negative. All having forgotten the first rule of debate – by acknowledging a baseless accusation, you enable it.
Like teenagers in high school, the headlines abound with “he said, she said.” Accusations fly, opinions are expressed and solutions are proposed. This is what passes for national discourse today.
Meanwhile, vital news goes unreported. News of a possible downgrade of America’s credit rating. News of the push to replace the dollar with China’s Yuan. News that confirmed the feds were well aware of our current housing crisis back in 2005. And did nothing. I could go on.
What a delicious orgy. The media and assorted politicians had carte blanche to speculate what was in another’s heart without being bound by fact checkers. And assert themselves as moral and caring people, to boot.
I have no doubt the media and politicians are patting themselves on the backs for having turned this tragedy to their advantage. And I expect they will have more tragedies to confront as more and more idiots issue forth from government schools pumped full of unearned self esteem, focusing like a laser on their own rights, with never a thought to the attendant responsibilities.
This whole embarrassing episode says something very bad about the current state of America’s media and our political elites. That a piece of white trash with a gun could dominate the headlines for a full week as Iran goes nuclear and America teeters on the economic brink should cause Americans grave concern about our national priorities.

Lynn Woolsey: A National Embarrassment

My nephew, Lance Corporal Lee Morgan, will be deploying to Afghanistan next Friday.  This will be his second tour of duty there.  Lee will be putting his life on the line , once again, fighting a war described by Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-CA) as "an epic failure, a national embarrassment, and a moral blight."
While my nephew is risking his life to fight the war on terror, Ms. Woolsey is exercising her right to polish her moral vitaes (on the backs of others) by blithely passing judgment on what the Obama administration has redefined as merely an "overseas contingency operation."  Rep. Woolsey’s right, by the way, has been granted her by the blood of Lee’s compatriots and all the other brave young men who have died in service to our country.
Spitting on the graves of those who have died in their nation’s service is just one of the rights secured to Ms. Woolsey by the blood and sweat of others.  A free press is another right.  This would be the same press that has maintained a deafening silence about this war ever since it became Obama’s war — the same press that reports Ms. Woolsey’s inane pronouncements without offering vital context.
Though Ms. Woolsey makes ten times the money my nephew does, he is the one who does the heavy lifting.  He is the one on the front line, braving Taliban bullets and following orders.  Ms. Woolsey, on the other hand, spends her time, along with fellow Democrats, improvising insane rules of engagement which make my nephew’s job much more dangerous.  She is also busy ensuring that terrorists are given the same rights as the Americans they are so intent on killing.
Ms. Woolsey, courtesy of our complaisant media, is given the moral high ground.  Lee is given…well, nothing to speak of.  Not even the thanks or appreciation his sacrifice and service deserve.
Ms. Woolsey, by virtue of her office, is given the status of "expert."  Lee is given the task of ensuring that she has an office.
While Ms. Woolsey fashions catchy soundbites, Lee is engaging in real-life fights.  To the death.  Lee could be killed.  Ms. Woolsey can only be shamed — or at least she could be if the left hadn’t outlawed shame.
While Ms. Woolsey advocates for "love, not war," Lee is tasked with the actual job of facing down Taliban fanatics in their own backyards.  Lee won’t be making love any time soon.  He’s too busy protecting the right of idiotic politicians to mouth ’60s slogans as they preen in front of cameras, patting themselves on the back for exposing the "moral blight" of all that nasty violence.  Ms. Woolsey is evolved.  Lee is just a grunt Marine .
Though ignored by the media, over 1,449 of our our soldiers have died in Afghanistan to date.  An additional 1,400 marines are now being sent to counter an increasingly aggressive Taliban offensive.  This is a Taliban that can only be encouraged by Ms. Woolsey words.
It used to be a crime to offer aid and comfort to the enemy.  That was in the days before political correctness, when we were allowed to actually identify our enemies.  Now, Ms. Woolsey’s words, and the words of her fellow leftists, comfort our enemies — and encourage them to double their efforts to kill my nephew.
One can disagree on the reasons for our current war — oops, engagement — with Afghanistan.  But to publicly voice the sentiments Ms. Woolsey has, while we are so engaged, amounts to treason.
Ms. Woolsey would wet her pants and turn tail in terror if she came face-to-face with a Taliban terrorist.  Luckily, she has my nephew to ensure that she will never have to face that unpleasant reality.
Ms. Woolsey has the luxury of opining from a safe distance — a distance afforded her by my nephew’s bravery.  To her, this "engagement" is cause for embarrassment.  It offends her morals.  As she did with the Iraq war, she has preordained failure.  As happened with the Iraq war, she will once again be proven wrong.  And once again, she will not be held to account or embarrassed.  Her fellow leftists will likely exercise their rights in order to reelect her to public office.
I don’t hate Ms. Woolsey.  I have only contempt for her.  I’m embarrassed that she is in a position to speak for America.  And I feel sorrow for all our fighting men who have to endure the scorn and vitriol of those who have ordered them to lay down their lives for what they have preordained "an epic failure."  For shame.

Rahm Emanuel: The Fix Is In

I’m going to go out on a limb and make a public prediction. Rahm Emanuel will be Chicago’s next mayor.
How do I know this? I’m not an expert, political heavyweight or a Chicago insider. I know Rahm will soon be called “His Honor” because I have something all the experts and political pundits are lacking: common sense and an ability to connect the dots.
Rahm Emanuel is the quintessential political insider. He is one of the premier power brokers of the notoriously corrupt Chicago political machine. The same machine that was responsible for a lowly community organizer named Obama going from unknown nobody to President of the free world in the space of a few years.
Rahm’s first job post-graduation was as a community organizer. Sound familiar? He then proceeded up the chain of the Chicago machine as the senior advisor and chief fundraiser for Richard Daley’s campaign for Chicago mayor.
He then parlayed his astounding arm twisting, oops, fundraising, ability into Director of Finance for Boy Clinton’s presidential campaign in 1992, which earned him the powerful position of senior advisor to the Clinton White House.
Emanuel left the White House in 1998 to work as the Managing Director for investment banking firm, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, in Chicago. In 2000, President Clinton named Emanuel to the Board of Directors for the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, Freddie Mac. During this time, it is estimated Rahm made more than $18 million.
After a brief stint in the House of Representatives, which position he resigned November 6, 2008, Emanuel catapulted from lowly public servant to Chief of Staff to President Barack Obama.
Based on Emanuel’s stellar political rise, I have to ask myself: Why would this man give up one of the most powerful jobs in the world in order to roll the dice that he, one of over a dozen contenders in Chicago’s Mayoral race, would indeed become the elected mayor of Chicago? My answer: He wouldn’t – unless the fix was in.
The only significant requirement for running for Chicago Mayor states that candidates must have “resided in the municipality at least one year next preceding the election.”
Under the law, Rahm Emanuel missed out by over half a year, because he resided in Washington DC until October. How then could the Board of Elections have ruled that he was eligible?
A day before the Board of Elections ruled that Rahm was, indeed, a Chicago resident, a hearing officer jumped the gun and told the media how the Board would rule, before the Board actually ruled. It’s quite possible the Board’s decision was not determined in advance. It’s possible that the video that surfaced of Rahm’s Chicago home posted for sale on You Tube was, as Rahm said, a “typo.”

It’s also possible that Rahm actually left boxes in storage at his old abode, despite his tenants declaring otherwise. Tenant Lori Halpern said: “There have never been boxes in the house that were not my possessions.” No-one has proof that the photo of stored boxes Rahm provided was not genuine.

No-one can prove that the Board of Elections ruling was a foregone conclusion, despite the fact that their ruling was based on a novel concept: “The question is not whether the candidate resided there during the prior year at all, but whether or not the candidate, once having held residency, whenever it occurred and however long ago, had ever renounced it.”
No-one can prove anything. But one can draw conclusions based on series of coincidences.
The day after the Board of Elections defied their own written requirements and gave Rahm the go ahead to run for mayor, Illinois state Sen. James Meeks, in a surprise Christmas week announcement, withdrew his candidacy for Chicago mayor. No-one can prove that this wasn’t just plain old good luck for Rahm.
More good luck for Rahm followed two days later:
State officials are investigating how phony signatures and stamps from notaries wound up on the nominating petitions of four of the candidates running to succeed Mayor Richard M. Daley. In the latest mystery, investigators are focusing on the cottage industry of paid signature gathers who help candidates collect names to get them on the ballot.
Again, it can’t be proven that Rahm had anything to do with this “mystery.” I’m sure in the coming days, more “mysteries” or scandals or discrepancies will surface that will further pare down the list of candidates. And eventually Rahm will be the only viable candidate left standing.
Since I’m not a resident of Chicago, why should I care that the fix is in? I guess I’m just plain fed up with being manipulated and deceived by the good old boys who give voters the illusion of democracy when in fact, most decisions are still made behind closed doors. And, no – I can’t prove it. I just rely on history and common sense. And the voters in Chicago should, also.

Not that it will do them any good. His Honor Emanuel is a foregone certainty. No matter how they vote. The fix is in. I can’t prove it. It’s possible I’m wrong. But not very probable.

Taking A Stand Against Political Correctness

Political correctness is loosely defined as "avoidance of expressions or actions that can be perceived to exclude or marginalize or insult people who are socially disadvantaged or discriminated against."

In other words, millions of Americans have willingly allowed themselves to be placed in the losing position of continually being forced to prove a negative. "I’m not a racist," "I’m not homophobic," "I’m not a greedy capitalist"…ad nauseum.

Political correctness is a hugely successful campaign that has effectively altered traditional standards of behavior in order to advance the political agenda of mostly left-leaning groups. From gay rights, to feminism to open borders, PC rules dictate that you conform with the prevailing group-think at the risk of social ostracism.

The amazing thing about PC is that no-one has yet fought back against the complete idiocy and transparent manipulation that is its very essence.

Until now.

I have decided to quit enabling useful idiots by continuing to mouth the politically correct group thoughts that threaten to snuff out opposing opinions under the guise of tolerance and compassion. I never voted for these idiotic rules. I never agreed to them. And I refuse to abide by them.

I will not let others dictate manners to me. I was brought up to be respectful of others and to live by the Golden Rule. In other words, I have good manners. So why should I allow others to impose their "manners" on me? Especially when their "manners" only apply to favored groups.

Conservative women can be called whores, and the Virgin Mary can be covered in dung and called art, but God forbid anyone acknowledge that many blacks have willingly let themselves be enslaved to the government entitlement system. Or that some people will always be poor because they are just plain stupid and lazy – and subsidizing them with my tax dollars only encourages more stupid and lazy behavior. The majority of them have chosen to rely on others for their existence – but that doesn’t mean I must grant them "oppressed" status.

Acquiescing to political correctness only serves to enable it. And I will no longer enable arbitrary rules whose main goals serve only to contradict traditional values and undermine American and individual exceptionalism.

Here are a few basic facts. America is the greatest country the world has ever known. We have equality of opportunity, not outcome. Respect must be earned, not granted, and promoting self-esteem is just a subtle message that it’s OK and even desirable to be selfish.

Most politically correct "elites" who purport to speak for you have been educated way beyond their intelligence. Life isn’t fair and everyone is not equal. If any of your "rights" are paid for by others, they not rights, they are entitlements. And redefining words to make them politically correct does not change the underlying reality. A rose is a rose and a jerk is a jerk.

Shakespeare once said, "There is no right or wrong, only the definition that makes it so." I have decided that I will no longer allow politically correct idiots with a vested agenda to define my words for me. I am not willing to adopt someone else’s definition of right and wrong at the expense of my own.

With a black man in the White House, I have also decided that I will no longer lower my voice when discussing race. And since I graduated from high school long ago, I’ve decided that I will never refer to words by their first letter. Those that refer to "the n word" or "the p word" are people who have willingly allowed others to set the rules. They are sheep who have acquiesced to group-think in a vain attempt to appear "with-it."

From now on, I will call a lie a lie, not a misstatement. Just because many people lie does not make it right. And I will not allow my opinions to be called judgments. I will not allow debate to be redefined as argument, and I most certainly will not have anyone tell me that my point of view is invalid unless they can prove it.

Instead, I will do as Thomas Sowell does when faced with politically correct statements made by self-righteous busy bodies. I will ask myself these four questions that will determine the validity of any statement:

1. At what cost?
2. Compared to what?
3. According to whom?
4. What hard evidence do you have?

By Sowell’s standard, pretty much every politically correct statement and/or idea doesn’t pass this simple test. All the main shibboleths of the left are shown to be lacking in both substance and foundation if put to this test. But political correctness demands that you not question crucial assumptions for fear of being branded stupid. How stupid is that?

If you’re content to allow others to define you, by all means, keep playing by the politically correct rules. If you’re OK with allowing others to manipulate your sentiments to achieve their own agendas, feel free.

If, however, you value individual freedom and common sense over group-think, maybe it’s time you joined me in starting to fight back against all this PC nonsense. It’s easy. Just say no.

Woe Is Me!

In today’s America, feelings have replaced facts as our governing policy. Shame has been relegated to the back of the bus and squeaky wheels have been given the place of honor.
Merit has been replaced by grievance mongers. Accomplishment and material success are vilified as having been attained on the backs of the have-nots. And that’s not fair!
In a rush to attain unearned moral virtue, millions of Americans have bowed to the PC police and advocated issues about which they know nothing in a desperate attempt to appear relevant, compassionate and non-judgmental. Useful idiots reign supreme.
We now see our elected officials on the floor of Congress debating who has come from the most humble background, as they wage a war on those greedy rich people in an effort to show how compassionate they are.
Inconsequential nobodies now have a shot at their 15 minutes of fame, from the attention seeking pastor who threatened to burn the Koran to the (shameful) couple who decided to put the question of whether to kill their fetus to an online vote. And let’s not forget the founder of Wikileaks, accused rapist Julian Assange, who has put brave lives at risk by his treasonous leak of classified documents.
The media has anointed Julian as a dedicated truth seeker instead of a pathetic former nobody so desperate for fame that he is willing to sacrifice innocent lives. The pastor was rewarded with a new car for not burning the Koran. And the online couple contemplating aborting their child are now somebodies. Finally! No word yet on if the baby will be allowed to live. Stay tuned.
A generation of baby boomers, brought up focused on their rights, as opposed to their responsibilities, have turned their gazes from their own navels to register faux disgust as they publicly opine about the current media anointed bad guys.
“I’m not rich,” they exclaim with pride, secretly pleased that their failure in life’s arena is not their fault any longer. “Those greedy capitalists are to blame.” Whew. It’s not my fault that I’m a loser. And if you dare to call me a loser, you’re being, gasp, judgemental – and everyone knows that’s a no-no.
America is becoming a nation of squeaky wheels. This race to the bottom is a boon to the stupid and lazy among us, as they shrug off the label of loser and adopt the coveted mantle of victim-hood. Thus relieving them of the need to work hard, attain goals, and become productive members of society.
But there’s a catch. The “woe is me” template just doesn’t play in Peoria.
Us rubes in flyover country understand that the political, intellectual and educational “elites” who still control and determine the national conversation, are comprised of less than 1% of America’s total population.
We understand that the elite’s template of victim-hood over merit is adopted only by life’s losers. And the majority of Americans aren’t losers.
Like myself, most Americans outside the beltway and away from life in the elite fast lane (the very ones who are paying their bills) still hold fast to traditional values. Values that are continually vilified by the old media. Values like pride of accomplishment, taking care of ourselves, and doing the right thing even when no-one is looking. And despite the media sneers, we continue to raise our children to believe in God over man.
For us rubes, respect still has to be earned, and we don’t give points for merely advocating the expenditure of other people’s money on the cause of the day.  We rubes have not allowed the elites to redefine our language.

We have nothing but disgust for those who refuse to help themselves and are content to suck on the government tit. And we have only contempt for those among us who have succumbed to the politically correct notion that nothing is ever our fault. (Are you listening, Obama?)

We are ashamed of the notion of dependency and we abhor the concept of victim-hood that is being promoted by our elected officials as they seek media popularity and face time at the expense of their principles and sworn duty. For shame.
Here’s a news flash for those that celebrate victim-hood: You, indeed, are victims. Victims of a political system that seeks to foster dependency in order to accumulate more power. You are victims of a burgeoning grievance industry that seeks profit through promoting misery instead of rewarding virtue.
While the media might comfort you with the notion that you have value and everyone is your equal, the majority of Americans see you for what you are: useful idiots who have chosen the easy path of letting others define you. Weaklings who have willingly adopted standards set by others instead of tackling the much harder task of setting your own. And that is nothing to be proud of – no matter what they say on TV.

Straight Pride

As more and more Americans identify themselves through their sexual orientation, I’d like to weigh in on the side of heterosexuality. There, I said it. I’m straight. Sexually speaking, this means that I don’t sleep with members of my own sex.
Of course, who I sleep with is no-one’s business. Unless I’m a health hazard or something. And of course, what I do in my own bedroom used to be confined to my bedroom. Key word being “used to.”
Call me an old fuddy duddy, but I just can’t wrap my mind around gleefully advertising my most personal sexual practices. Call it modesty, or plain old good manners, but I believe that my privates were meant to be private.
In an era that increasingly promotes gender as being an optional life-style choice, I want to be one of the first to say I like plain old fashioned sex with members of the opposite sex. And being, gasp, Christian, I believe love and respect are pre-requisites to jumping in the sack. Color me outdated.
One’s sexuality is pretty much fair game these days. It’s one of the few ways left to garner one’s 15-minutes of fame. After all, how many ways are left to push the envelope – to show how “with it” one is? I fully expect we’ll soon have a new reality show designed around contestant’s sexual practices. The sex lives of pathetic attention seekers will be scrutinized and commented on for all the world to see. Peeping Toms, instead of being arrested, will be crucial in determining which sex act is the most outrageous. Sexual Survivor?
The left has legitimized the art of self-absorption. Naval gazing and “personal truths” have replaced modesty and restraint. Hooking up with strangers has replaced dating. And if you prefer to keep the details of your sex life private, you might just be branded a homophobe.
Sadism, gay sex and bondage are just a few of the sexual practices that are now considered legitimate. In fact, anything to do with sex is now applauded as being the product of introspection and heightened personal awareness. Today it’s almost mandatory to affect a cavalier attitude about what many consider a sacred act.
Before it becomes a hate-crime, I’d like to weigh in with my own opinion:
Many (not all) gay people make me uneasy. Not because they’re gay, but because they make their sexuality the focus of their whole lives and demand that I not only accept their homosexuality, but condone it. Anything less is labeled homophobia.
I don’t hate gays, I just resent having their bedroom habits pushed into my face on a daily basis. I consider that rude. It’s also none of my business. I believe a person is more than a sexual identity.
I’m one of those old-fashioned prudes who believes in modesty and discretion in all things sexual. According to the left, this makes me a hater. They’re half right – I do hate being forced to conform to someone else’s idea of what sexuality is.
The whole gay pride movement leaves me confused. If, as many gays assert, being homosexual is a function of genetics, then why should one take pride in it? That would be like me taking pride in being born with two arms. Which, of course, comes with the implicit assumption that being born with one arm is somehow “lesser than.” Couldn’t I be sued under ADA? Sigh.
I’m a straight, heterosexual woman. Not that that is anyone’s business. I could write volumes about the joys of traditional sex, but I choose not to. I prefer to keep my sexual proclivities a private matter. I just wish everyone else would do the same.

Obama’s Fatal Flaw

On the campaign trail last month, Obama lambasted Republicans, saying, “Republicans have not come up with one new idea.” Putting aside the fact that Obama is ‘factually incorrect,’ (see Rep. Mike Ryan’s ‘Roadmap for America’) his statement embodies the fatal flaw of progressivism.
Winston Churchill said, “The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.” Obama disagrees.
Each and every “new” policy of Obama’s administration in the last 20 months has one thing in common. Their foundations are lodged in wishful thinking, hope, if you will, that Obama’s perception of reality will magically translate into the underlying reality. They are all “new” solutions to old problems.
New solutions to old problems are an essential element of America’s spirit of entrepreneurship and one of the reasons America leads the world in innovation. Unfortunately, Obama’s view of progressivism completely excludes the lessons of history.
It comes as no surprise to students of history that Obama’s solutions are not working. From bailouts to the cutely named “stimulus” programs, from ObamaCare to the government take-over of many segments of the formerly private economy, every solution Obama has proposed or implemented has been tried in the past. And they have all failed in the past. Just as they are failing now.
Whether due to ideology, ignorance, hubris or naivety, Obama appears to believe he can define his own reality. He is like a young child who, by closing his eyes convinces himself that no-one can see him. Obama is the result of a liberal education un-tempered by real-life experience or economic necessity. Or the lessons of history.
Our founders designed the system of federalism, wisely leaving to the states the ability to experiment with new solutions. The states are America’s laboratories, implementing new solutions on a small scale, minimizing the risk of failure and those darn unintended consequences. Until now.
Never having been held responsible for the outcome of his actions, Obama sails merrily forth advocating his, not so new, ideas, secure in the knowledge that the American taxpayers will be paying the very real cost of his mistakes. As we are now doing on a daily basis.
Obama’s reliance on the ideological tactics employed by many of his known mentors and friends, has resulted in a measurable decline in America, economically, politically and militarily.
His inability to allow for the possibility that history, tradition or conservative principles may offer a possible solution to the current economic mess America remains mired in, guarantees that America’s problems will not be solved as long as Obama holds office.
As Obama struggles to redefine reality to his specifications, history marches on, with dire consequences for the future of America. As history shows:
The average age of the world’s greatest civilization from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:
1. From bondage to spiritual faith
2. From spiritual faith to great courage
3. From courage to liberty
4. From liberty to abundance
5. From abundance to complacency
6. From complacency to apathy
7. From apathy to dependence
8. From dependence back into bondage
Obama is either unaware of the course of history, or he is counting on it.

Muslim Cartoon Day

In response to the blatant kowtowing of the Washington Post and other liberal newspapers to the delicate sensitivities of radical Islamists, RightBias has decided to celebrate our own Muslim Cartoon Day.

To any terrorists that may be offended, we say: Just because you can intimidate our president and media elites, you should know that the majority of Americans are not willing to shape our culture to your specifications. If you don’t have a sense of humor, tough luck.

News Flash: Life Isn’t Fair!

Just after Obama was elected president, I asked my niece, Sarah, to tell me, in one word, why she voted for him. She thought about it for awhile, and then replied, “equality.”
Sarah is a newly minted Ph.D., a recent product of government schools and a very smart woman. Not surprisingly, she has adopted the progressive’s outlook as her own. To her credit, she is concerned with others less fortunate than herself. She is concerned with fairness and equality. She is genuinely compassionate and strives to do the right thing.
Unfortunately, like millions of Americans, Sarah has been led to believe that Obama has the ability to make life more just. She seems to believe that the leftist template of “social justice” will finally result in equality and justice for all. I give her credit for her concern and I applaud her interest in others. I also look forward to the day when she has enough life experience to realize that life will never be fair. That people will never be “equal.”
Fairness and equality are subjective concepts whose definitions differ depending on whom is doing the defining. The kicker is words that can mean anything end up meaning nothing.

Equality, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. It is a lovely concept, but the devil is in the details.

Here’s a news flash: Life isn’t fair and people are not equal. And history shows that any and all attempts to make it fair and equal – from socialism to communism to Marxism – have been dismal failures. What Sarah wasn’t taught in school is that countries that are free, are not equal. And countries that are equal, are not free.
America is unique and prosperous because our country offers the only equality achievable by man: equality of opportunity and equality before the law. At least we used to. In an effort to make life fair for all, Obama’s agenda has resulted undermining two of the most important pillars of our society – the rule of law and the right to own private property.
Unelected czars have been given the ability to change the rules on a whim. Government bureaucrats have been given unprecedented power over the formerly free market, with the ability to confiscate (nationalize) any business that doesn’t conform to ever-changing standards imposed by political fiat. Our own Department of Justice has flatly stated that the rules governing election fraud are there only for disenfranchised blacks, not whites.
By arbitrarily changing the rules that govern our society, Obama and his fellow progressives have thrown the country into turmoil. Imagine being in the middle of a high stakes game and all of a sudden, the rules change. Heads they win, and tails, you lose. How “fair” is that?
In Obama’s world, some people are more equal than others. (Can you spell “unions”?) By stacking the deck in favor of one group at the expense of another, in the name of fairness and equality, Obama’s policies have resulted in a less equal and less fair America.
What my niece Sarah doesn’t realize is that all rights come with attendant responsibilities. One man’s right not to be offended means that another man’s right to voice his opinion is infringed upon. One man’s right to free housing means another man’s right to keep the fruits of his own labor is diminished. As Thomas Sowell states, there are no solutions, only trade-offs.
Obama has convinced many Americans that he has the ability to bestow unlimited rights. Like a weekend dad, Obama feeds his ‘children’ ice cream, lavishes them with toys, and lets them stay up all night. He leaves to mom (Republicans) the much harder task of teaching the reality that there are no free lunches, that rights are not free when they are paid for by others, and that life isn’t fair. It never has been, and never will be.
Thousands of small businesses and millions of Americans are sitting on billions of dollars, refusing to invest their hard-earned money because this administration has stacked the deck in favor of whoever has the most political clout. Why risk capital when the rules can be changed on a whim? Why hire a new employee when it is impossible to estimate how costly their health-care package will be?
I only hope that my niece Sarah, and the rest of America’s progressives, realize sooner rather than later, that all of man’s attempts to attain utopia, world peace, and equality for all are not only futile, but risk destroying the hard-won equality of opportunity and equality before the law that America has spent over 200 years developing.
