Shocking! If you take an average of unemployment rates in the 10 lowest rated states controlled by Democrats and compare it to the 10 lowest rated states controlled by the GOP, you find that Republican states did far better than Democrat ones.

What’s more, if you check out the graph of unemployment since January 1999 (brought to you by the Bureau of Labor statistics), you can’t miss the sharp rise in unemployment since January 2007. This date corresponds with the date when Democrats first took control of the Congress. You’ll remember in the first 100 hours, Dems promised to raise the minimum wage and “more equitable” tax rates.

I don’t think it’s lost on anyone that the unemployment rate hit a 20-year high this week – 9.4%. Since all the facts point to flawed policy, I hope Democrats will take some constructive advice from this Republican: cut taxes now please.

President Obama doesn’t care right now. The chaos and suffering allow the tentacles of government to suck a little more Liberty from our Republic.

But FL is not a "pure" Democrat state
sbowers3 (Diary) Sunday, June 7th at 4:08PM EST (link)The chart is for states that voted the same way in 2000, 2004, and 2008. FL was mixed between R and D and so is excluded from the chart.

Florida is also a low-tax/low-service state

Blue collar states suffer in comparison to Red neck states.
redneck_hippie (Diary) Sunday, June 7th at 3:57PM EST (link)The distinction is partially due to the proportion of manufacturing in some of these states. Manufacturing jobs and blue collar workers are hardest hit. That being said, there is a strong correlation between manufacturing industry, unions, and democrat political control.
