Thanks to ColdWarrior

I today filed my nominating petition to be placed on the February 2010 ballot to become my precinct’s committeeman. Total time investment came to around 45 minutes: find the documentation on-line & print it, knock on a few doors to collect 12 signatures, $1.00 for the notary fee and a brief coffee-break chat with the county chairman, and that was it. It was a vacant position, and I’ll be running unopposed, so thanks for the motivation CW! On February 3, I should be able to say I’m a Precinct Committeeman!

What state are you in? Are the instructions for your state anywhere on the web that you know of? I’d like to add a link to the blog.

You are going to have a lot of fun. On Feb. 3 you’ll be able to say, “I was a conservative Republican Party precinct committeeman before it was cool!” (Actually, I’m hoping you WON’T be able say that — I’m hoping so many conservatives will join us before then that it will already be “cool.” But at least you’ll be able to say you took the steps to become a PC before it was cool!)

Thanks again!

In 2012, will YOU become a “voting member” of the Republican Party in your precinct?
