In Texas high school six-man football from last night’s season opening games, we have the following score:
Paint Creek 50, Novice 33.
Hmmmm, this score is rich with potential symbolism. I know who is from Paint Creek. The question is…who is from Novice?

Jeez what's wrong with a little humor now and then?
bk (Diary) Saturday, August 27th at 11:22AM EST (link)Should any diary shorter than your overly long signature be banned?
bk, nothing wrong wtih a little humor, but
Melody Warbington (rwm52) (Diary) Saturday, August 27th at 12:10PM EST (link)this comment is better suited for an open thread rather than posting as a diary that results in knocking a diary off the page that people have spent time researching and writing.

Hi, rightwingmom52!
Mr_Ed (Diary) Saturday, August 27th at 12:24PM EST (link)I enjoyed meeting you at RSG and reading your post event blog coverage. Thanks for stopping by my booth and getting acquainted.
So if Perry is from Paint Creek, who would be the most appropriate presidential contender from “Novice”? Bachmann, perhaps?

Hi, Mr Ed
Melody Warbington (rwm52) (Diary) Saturday, August 27th at 12:31PM EST (link)Thanks for the kind words. RSG03 was fun, wasn’t it?
Nothing personal in my comment above. There’s just so many diaries I intend to go back and read, and then when they get knocked off, I can’t always remember what they were. There’s at least a couple up today that are nothing but spam. Yours had some humor!

Maybe it's just because I'm old,
gekster (Diary) Sunday, August 28th at 1:13PM EST (link)but I did fail to see any humor.
I guess the plane flew over my head, whooosh.
Ok, I didn’t see it, and still don’t get it.
And bk, if the diary IS shorter than my sig line, it ain’t a diary,
but an open thread comment.
Whose well thought out diary got pushed off the list because of this comment.

Painted Creek Football....
Mr_Ed (Diary) Sunday, August 28th at 6:17PM EST (link)Gekster and westcoastpatriette….
Texas Gov. and current GOP leading Presidential candidate is from Paint Creek, Texas, a very, very small community in rural west Texas. The town’s high school is so small it only sports a six-man football team.
Ironically, their first game of the season came against another small town school from “Novice”, Texas.
Given the number of “novice” presidential contenders, I thought this was an unusual event.
Additionally, the score 50-33 is quite similar to common polling results. This could end of being the Perry-Romney margin in a two man poll between them.

Thanks, Mr. Ed--
westcoastpatriette (Diary) Sunday, August 28th at 6:23PM EST (link)No wonder we didn’t get it. Prophetic score, maybe?
That's where I thought you were going, Mr. Ed.
acat (Diary) Sunday, August 28th at 6:26PM EST (link)I think I’d tend to call Bachmann “Novice” as Romney has been around this block before .. but the polling numbers work better your way.
Eh. In either case, can’t keep those Paint Creek boys down once they set their sights on something.

thanks.
gekster (Diary) Sunday, August 28th at 6:39PM EST (link)sorry to say if you have to explain it, it looses some of it’s flavor.
If I had known about Paint Creek, then I guess I would of got it.
Maybe I should traval West Texas more often.
(and not picken here, but there are enough open threads to post things like these. I use them all the time.)
